Modern Wok
This food court stall is quite different from other food court Chinese options. They don't have the usual Westernised dishes but a more 'authentic' (the term is contested, but it will suffice for a food review!) menu & there was even at least one dish I'd never seen before. The flavours here are simpler, like in Chinese home cooking (versus what you'd get at a restaurant). Had fried rice mixed with fried noodles, Sichuan boiled fish, pork with mountain vegetables, chicken with mushrooms, fried cabbage & other vegetables & dry pork ribs; the dishes were so interesting that I added some on. The carbs were decent & the dishes were pretty tasty. The fact that they don't have labels for the items suggests that the menu changes regularly, so it should pay to drop by regularly as you'll probably see something new. I went on a Friday & was told that from Tuesday to Thursday they have even more dishes.
First time ate here last week. ordered noodles with chicken and veggies. Taste is good but the noodles are way too greasy. too much oil. Chicken I got was mostly bones. I guess for $13 you can't ask much...
Lee Chen Asian Bistro
Highly recommend the PICKLED MUSTARD GREEN NOODLE SOUP. Perfect comfortable food. After the trip, this bowl of noodle soup made me almost forget the tiredness of the traffic. The soup filled dumplings is great. Paired with the red vinegar provided, it is a taste experience. The crystal pork belly is also good, but it is more suitable to be paired with rice. Looking forward to trying it next time.
Located in the lower level of the unit but there is a big sign above so you cant miss it. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was very good. The special fried rice was exceptional and came in a big sharing plate. We thought there would be leftover but with 2 teenage boys no chance! A bit pricey as not much under 10 dollars but will visit again.
Bamboo Buddha Chinese Restaurant
Oh bamboo buddah, you bamboozled your food! Honestly, this would be a 5/5 Chinese food restaurant, but there is next to no protein in any of the dishes. The chicken balls probably have less than 5g of chicken, and the rest is batter. Same goes for the fried food like general tso's chicken and sweet and sour pork. I would so nearly 50% of the pieces don't even have chicken/pork. The shrimp low mein has probably 10 pieces for a 2lb dish. With that said, the batter is delicious and the texture is all there. The staff were friendly too. Just put more protein in and your review ratings would sky rocket!
This used to be my Chinese soul food spot. But quality has gone down hill big time. Pretty much $17 for all carbs and msg.
