Phoenix Cafe 金鳳冰室
Food 5/5 Service 4/5 Vibe 4/5 Parking to reso is a challenge, but for Hong Kong Style restaurant , its worth it! Food was great, there isnt as many options as other cha chang tang, but still a good section. I personally love their Hong Kong Iced MilkTea. One of the best ones i had in toronto, ngl! ALSO! FRIED CHICKEN WINGS IS TO DIE FOR! Sooooo juicy so delicious! Overall worth the drive and parking pain! Haha
I’ve tried many Hong Kong-style cafés in Toronto, and this one is honestly one of the worst. I came here with high expectations after seeing a 4.1-star rating, but it was such a disappointment. The 1 star is for the milk tea, which was just about acceptable. I ordered the satay beef noodles—the noodles were so mushy they were practically falling apart. I’ve never had noodles this overcooked in my life. To be fair, the chili oil was quite tasty, but it couldn’t save the dish. As for the black pepper chicken and pork chop on rice—the chicken had that unmistakable frozen taste, and the pork chop was so tough it felt like eating dried meat. The only redeeming point was the fried rice underneath. Out of respect for food, I finished my meal, but I really can’t bring myself to give this restaurant another chance. I honestly don’t understand how it got such a high rating.
