Chinese Dumpling House
Good dumpling house claims themselves made to order. They have a dumpling station and make it in front of you. I went there last time was very fresh but this time the dumpling wrapper is dry but the filling is juicy. Price is very affordable, $10.99 for 15 pcs. Worth to give it a try.
This is a spot my family and I have been coming since I was a wee tod. So comforting and so nostalgic, the dumplings are unbearable. Also the Cong you Bing is insanely good they really load it up with the green onions. Respects
Congee Queen - Thornhill(Steeles/Hwy404)
This is my favourite Congee Queen to go to because it’s very nice. The staff is friendly and though it’s a smaller restaurant, it’s definitely really nice and cozy. I prefer it over the bigger ones. I’ve really gotten to know the staff and I really feel welcomed to every single time I come in now. The food is good and although it takes a bit slower than the other places because they are bigger to get to you, the food quality is always great If you’re looking for a nice cosy place to go, have dinner or lunch definitely check out this location. It’s super warm and at least in my experience. Ask for my pictures there’s definitely more things that I’ve tried and haven’t gotten a picture of unfortunately but if that changes, I will definitely put it up in this review !
What an absolute gem of a place. The food is fantastic and the service is great. We ordered the General Tso, Crispy Cantonese Chow mein, Soup, Vegetable Fried Rice and cold tea. Everything was delicious and came out fast. Family style dishes so you know you will get plenty. Prices were great for the large portions you receive. Great place to eat.
King’s Wok House
Claro, aquí tienes una opinión sobre comida china y una recomendación en inglés: Opinion: "I really enjoy Chinese food because of its rich flavors, variety of ingredients, and the perfect balance between sweet, sour, and savory. Dishes like General Tso’s chicken, beef and broccoli, and dumplings are always a treat." Recommendation: "If you're looking to try something delicious, I highly recommend Chinese food. It offers a wide range of dishes that suit every taste, from stir-fried noodles to flavorful soups and crispy spring rolls. You won't regret it!" ¿Quieres que lo adapte a un restaurante específico o para una reseña online?
A very cute eatery. The food is delicious and there are great options for vegetarians as well. The picture is the vegetarian lunch special which was yummy and filling. Great value for money. The owners and very sweet and helpful.
Shanghai Shaomai - 上海燒麥館
This dumpling spot in Pacific Mall is a super-solid choice. It’s one of the few places that tug at my heartstrings, especially when I see the old ladies making dumplings during quieter times. It reminds me so much of my time living in China. That nostalgic feeling is so strong that I’d be happy even if they just served me a cup of water. The dumplings here bring back all those good memories. The Shanghai Shaomai is my favorite, striking the perfect balance between juicy and meaty. The texture is just right, not too chewy, dense, or tender. It hits the sweet spot every time, providing a comforting, home-like experience even though I’m not Chinese. How many restaurants can create such magic? This place does, and it’s a gem.
Great, authentic Shanghai cuisine! Savoring a hearty wonton soup paired with meaty Shaomai is the ultimate experience for chilly winter days. The shop is located on the second floor inside heritage town - took me a while to find it, but it’s absolutely worth the effort.
China Cottage
China Cottage delivers an exceptional Hakka dining experience, especially for those seeking flavorful hakka style vegetarian dishes. Recently, I had the pleasure of ordering a takeout, which included the Hakka Bombay Noodles and Veg Cauliflower Manchurian. Both dishes showcased outstanding taste and were crafted to perfection, reflecting a harmonious blend of spices and textures that catered to my palate. The noodles were expertly prepared, featuring a delightful balance of flavors, while the Manchurian had a satisfying crispness with a rich, savory sauce. The portions were generous, making the meal not only delicious but also excellent value for money. The pricing was reasonable, ensuring a quality experience without straining the budget. China Cottage truly stands out for its commitment to delivering flavorful, authentic Hakka cuisine. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking delicious vegetarian options that are both satisfying and affordable.
The food was great! Mike was our server, he has wonderful customer service. We have always came here and it’s our favourite. We had seafood hot & sour soup, pepper chicken, hakka fish, chicken pakoda, chilli chicken, seafood fried rice, Singapore rice noodles, and everything was regular spicy.
Xin Jiang Restaurant/Halal西域食府.清真
Came back to this place after a strong recommendation from a friend. Xinjiang cuisine turned out to be greasier than I expected, and most dishes had the same mix of onions and bell peppers—whether it was the stir-fried lamb tripe, mushroom dry pot, or the lamb meat wrap. The lamb skewers were a bit tough to chew and had too much fat, so I wouldn’t recommend them. We ended up getting a membership card because of the discount, but it was quite inconvenient—the discount is only applied if you physically bring the card. Simply providing the phone number or a photo of the card doesn’t work, which makes things unnecessarily complicated. Aside from the food and the membership issue, the service was pretty good overall.
We are always impressed with the food here. However, the service can be disappointing at times. We had to request tea multiple times before it was finally served. Even getting takeout boxes is a hassle—they’re extremely stingy with them. Instead of providing enough from the start, they bring half a box, then make you ask again for another. It’s frustrating, especially considering how much money we’re spending. Expecting us to fit a beef burger and skewers into the same box is just unreasonable. On top of that, our dumplings never arrived. We finished all our food, yet they still hadn’t been served. When we asked the waitress, she insisted they were coming, but it was clear from her reaction that they had been forgotten. Overall, while the food is fantastic, the service leaves a lot to be desired.
Casa-Imperial Fine Chinese Cuisine 名門金宴
I don’t get why people rating this restaurant such low score. Casa Imperial Fine Cuisine located in a busy area of Scarborough is a state of art. I mean just look at the color of time on the historical building. I think the money is worth spending, considering you come here both for the fine food & excellent customer service. I felt like as if I walked into the Time Machine… The food tastes good and fresh; the portion is quite large. I ordered a little too much because I wanted to have some variety to try. I think the ingredients they use are one of the reasons why they pride themselves as one of the best restaurants in GTA. It’s a definitely must try, I’d highly suggest.
Dim sum is good at this restaurant, and less oily compared to other locations. Prices are average, and they offer the pre-11 am special on weekdays. The presentation of the food isn't as nice as Skyview or The One. The restaurant decor is very classical. Some people may like it and others may not. Be prepared to walk some stairs as the restaurant is split up on different floors. The washroom is down in the basement. I went on a Saturday and only waited a few minutes for a table. I will return one day.
Happy Fishman Chinese Seafood Cuisine 漁民樂
The food is hit or miss, the portion size is definitely small but the price is also cheaper. The water cook fish wasn’t spicy at all. The lobsters are ok. Not much meat, but that’s because the price you pay. The Fried Big Intestine was not clean, so it had the not clean taste. The Pepper and Salt stir fry squid, did not taste like squid at all.. tasted more like fish texture. The stir fry snails tasty, the first time. Second time we came back.. not so tasty anymore.
This Chinese restaurant is really good! Came here with a bunch of friends and the portion/pricing is extremely fair. The taste itself is super; we had numerous rice, chicken, lobster dishes along with really good hot sauces/chilli oils. I highly reccoemnd coming here to feast with the mandem and splitting the bill. We were shocked to see how low the bill was after it was split amongst about 8 people! 9/10 reccomend this place. There was just a small dog barking inside the restaurant which i personally didn't mind but some people may find a nuisance.
Peking Man Restaurant
The Peking duck that this place was always known for is still good! Also the wraps! They moved here from their Sheppard and Leslie location awhile back, but it's still the best kept secret of Pacific Mall. Definitely worth the trip! Reservations recommended for weekends.
Check out @bredgyeats on Instagram for more food posts! Oh man, Peking man, you certainly deserve the name with your delicious rendition of my favourite Peking Duck. A paper-thin skin that has an addicting cracker-like crisp, concealing a thin layer of duck fat that melts in your mouth, while the meat attached is moist and tender. That wasn't enough to satisfy our hungry stomachs, and luckily they had a giant portion of stir-fried beef noodles for cheap.
Lucky Pot
Great value deals for food. The food is great at reasonable prices for family dinner. Nowadays, it is very hard to find a restaurant like this one, especially with the increased cost of living. The only downside is that there is limited parking spaces outside the restaurant, but there are more parking spaces across the street next to the church. Please kindly note that the certain menus posted here (taken on 1/4/2025) are subject to changes based on the restaurant, especially after Lunar Chinese New Year.
If you don't know how to read Chinese, forget about it - you won't be able to understand anything on the menus. It's very clear Lucky Pot tends to mostly cater to exclusively Chinese clientele. I had to come with my Chinese girlfriend to understand anything on the menu. Your typical Cantonese fare is served here and most items are done well enough. The quality of the wok hei is okay, making the food not excellent but just great compared to its counterparts like Dong Kee, J&Y or Yu Seafood. If you can come here with a Chinese reading friend/family - try it out. Restaurants like these need to be supported and should be kept around. Extremely affordable and great tasting for the low price. My favorite item was the shredded chicken, but most items are really good.
Da Fu Seafood Restaurant 大福海鮮酒樓
We came here Saturday around 12:50pm and got seated immediately. The server is very welcoming and foods served fast. It is regular Chinese Cantonese restaurant serving seafood and dim sum . All sizes are the same price at $4.98 for weekend,$4.78for weekdays, which is very reasonable priced. We ordered double lobsters set meal for 4 ppl, and the quality is average: 1. Double lobsters with ginger and green onions-3/5 (portion is very small, double lobsters are the same size as single lobster in other places) 2. Deep fried fish with Egg yolk 5/5 ( generous portion and very tasty) 3. Sour and Sweet pork 3/5 regular quality 4. Stir Fried veggies 4/5 Also ordered rice in the pot and deep fried sesame sticky rice balls, both average. Overall you get what you pay for.
We came here on Sunday around 1:30pm and still very busy at that time. The server is very welcoming and foods served fast. It is regular Chinese restaurant serving seafood and dim sum . Most of sizes are the same price at $4.98 for weekend,$4.78 for weekly and amount of each meal is large. We come here with 4 ppl then chose dimsum & some special week meal. Totally reasonable price
Sun's Kitchen
Lots and lots of items on the menu. They make the food fresh. Prices a little higher than what I was expecting but the food was very good. Generous portions. Clean kitchen and counters.
It’s the classic spot. You have to eat the noodles here they’re so good. The quality of the noodles is amazing. Sometimes they pull it in front of you. I usually get the dumpling noodles. I’ve been eating from here since I was young, and it hasn’t changed; classic.
