Good food and affordable price I really recommend to this place

Lovely desserts! Came here for my birthday with my family and we had really wonderful, delicious desserts

Nom³ Street is located inside Honeymoon Dessert in SkyCity Plaza in Scarborough. It is such a nostalgic food cart concept from HK, where we get to enjoy classic HK-styled street food in skewers! My favoruites were definitely the curry fishballs, cuttlefish balls, and red sausage! Their housemade curry is extra SPICY, but you can also get non-spicy curry with your order ^^

Mother's Dumplings 0

Great atmosphere but the food didn’t wow me. It was very enjoyable with interesting flavours in the dumplings, but the dumpling filling didn’t really bring any new flavour profiles to the table and none of the filling combinations I had tasted bold. I had the beef and celery, pork and pickled cabbage and shrimp, chive and egg fillings. These dumplings have very traditional tasting flavours and I will say, the big plus of this place is that all the ingredients taste relatively fresh. Even the dumpling itself and pancake batter taste very light and clean. That being said I personally would prefer a spot that had bolder flavours, but if that’s not your vibe then maybe you’ll like this place

Located near College and Spadina, Mother's Dumplings has earned a spot in the Michelin recommended guide for 2024, which prompted our visit to try it out. The restaurant is fairly good in speed and quality, and the food served was generally good. However, it fell a little short due to the flavours that we were expecting in 'standard' dishes that we try at places to set the initial experience. During our experience, we ordered several items from the menu like the Pork and Chives Dumplings (boiled), Juicy Pork Bun (essentially soup-filled dumplings), Green Onion Pancake, Hot & Sour Soup, and Potato Salad. The Pork and Chives Dumplings were flavourful but did not stand out compared to other preferred dumplings in Chinatown. In contrast, the Green Onion Pancake was well pan-fried, and best in crispness and taste. The Hot & Sour Soup was filling for its medium size, although it lacked the expected sourness. The Potato Salad presented a unique twist, being slightly sweet and spicy, with shredded carrots and thinly sliced potatoes. However, it deviated from the traditional expectations of potato salad, which typically includes a vinegar-based dressing. The service at Mother's Dumplings was very quick to turn around our food and attentive staff who promptly noticed that our dumplings did not include the right amount and proactively told the kitchen to begin cooking additional portions without delay. Additionally, they offer the option to purchase frozen bags of dumplings to take home for later. Lastly, they only take cash or debit.

Really glad that I found this place. It’s a bit hidden, up a flight of stairs on Dundas St. Walked in on a Saturday afternoon and was able to get seated pretty quickly - beside the windows too. It’s a nice interior - feels bright and airy and they have some music playing that my friend from HK said reminded him of home. The staff are super welcoming and attentive throughout. The food portions are pretty generous and reasonably priced. They’re tasty and definitely filling. Would come back to try their other dishes, and recommend others to try it when they are in the area.

Chinese comfort food sums it all up. Staff really friendly, helpful, and attentive. Very lengthy menu. They sat me near the front of the restaurant where it was somewhat cold. Bring a sweater. I had the stewed beef brisket with radish. Just like mom used to make!

My favorite spot for a hearty carb meal that also doesn't break the bank. I came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2pm and it was able to get a spot for 2. We shared 2 rice rolls and a bowl of congee. The rice rolls were super thin and filled with stuffing. Highly recommend and would come back.

Friendly staff, opens really early. Food is cheap and cheerful, tasted good in general. Tried alot of stuff and everything was tasty, I like the durian balls and truffle rice rolls, the chinese donuts were good too. Only complaint is the congee was thickened with starch so if you leave it for a while it turns watery. It didn't bother me but I know the connesiurs will hate it

Qin’s Garden is a fantastic find! The decor is charming—clean and fresh while still feeling warm and welcoming. It has a casual vibe, and the service is super prompt, which makes for an easy and enjoyable dining experience. I was drawn here after seeing it all over Instagram, especially for the soup dumplings. While they were definitely the largest I’ve had in Toronto, they weren’t the best in terms of flavor. That said, the rest of the meal was excellent. The non-soup dumplings, noodle dishes, and rice dishes were all standouts—well-balanced in both flavors and textures, with generous portions and bold flavors. The extensive menu means there’s plenty more to explore, and I can’t wait to go back and try more dishes. If you’re coming for the soup dumplings, they’re worth a try if you prioritize size over taste, but otherwise, skip them and dive into the rest of the menu.

Amazing restaurant. Went there for dinner, and the soup dumplings were delicious, same with the pan fried dumplings, and had one of the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Food wise, it was extremely good. The restaurant atmosphere did not disappoint as well, it was beautiful, and the environment was great. The server was nice and friendly. Overall would highly recommend the restaurant, 10/10!

I would agree with some reviews that it is indeed authentic chinese cuisine, looks yummy But my taste buds beg to disagree.. In short the bbq duck and pork bbq doesn’t taste good. The noodle soup so plain. Even my 100% chinese boyfriend said he doesn’t like it. Thanks to the free tea but the container is so rusty and looks unhygienic didn’t have the picture though.

Nov2024 Authentic Chinese food if you ever have a craving for it. This no frills eatery is a good place to have your bbq fix and the rice topped meals are also popular. Menu is extensive and covers most basic dishes. Service is simple and efficient with counter payments before you leave. Layout is basic but not comfortable for disabled esp the basement toitet with narrow stairs. Ideal for quick bites and small groups.

Very reasonably priced for the area and good go-to for after-drinks consumption. Pad Thai (see photo) is a bit on the sweet side for me, with a rather carmine colour, but still decent and beef added for free (good for a 2-for-1 deal via ubereats if looking for quantity). Tandoori Chicken Fried Rice (see photo) is better and enjoyable. In the past, also had Chilli Fish, which is great on the day of. Vegetable Fried Rice is a bit plain jane, but that is to be expected perhaps. In the era of inflation, a decent neighbourhood shop.

Came here for a late lunch and was not happy with a plastic seal cover of a sauce in my drink. When I brought this to the servers attention, she asked me if I put it or if i was opening a sauce at the table. We ordered the masala lollipop, spring rolls, Manchurian gravy chicken and the dry chili chicken, everything was tasty but the chili chicken. There was an insane amount of salt that we couldn't digest and sent it back. The service overall was whatever- i wouldn't return.

This place takes only cash or debit. Lots of seating and had no problems getting a table right away on a Sunday evening. They served tea as well for the table. The BBQ pork fried rice was flavourful and I liked the texture of the rice. The rest of the food came a bit later. The chow mein was decent. I would have liked it to have a bit more flavour and found it a bit bland. The string beans were crispy and tasted good. We also had a beef dish, which didn’t have as much meat as we were expecting. That wasn’t so flavourful either. All in all, it’s a good amount of food for the price and the quality was fair.

New Sky Garden restaurant by Spadina and College is a local staple, established in Chinatown for decades. This review is based on a recent delivery order so no comments are made for in-person environment or customer service. I ordered a selection of dishes: Beef sauteed with ginger and green onions Crispy beef with sesame - by far our favorite. The beef is coated and fried with a slight hint of sweetness, topped with sesame seeds. 4/5 Noodles with chicken and vegetables - this is a little different from the usual fried noodle dish. The noodles didn't seem as crispy or fried as I'm used to which was okay for us because it seemed less oily and not as salty. It suited my palate but I can see it as possibly offputting for others who may be more familiar with the more fried version. 4/5 Grouper and tofu - a favorite in our home. No fuss, plenty of fish and tofu, not too oily or salty, easy to eat and quite comforting. 4/5 Chinese bok choy with garlic - again a simpler dish but so easy to eat with a nice hit or garlic 4/5 Steamed Chinese chicken dish with dates and goji berries - I would say this has great authentic taste, rich and very flavorful. The only downfall is that you dont get a lot of meat and have to pick through it because it is bone in chicken with pieces oddly chopped. 4/5 Ha gow/shrimp dumplings - an easy staple with plenty of shrimp. No complaints overall. Tastes as expected. 4/5 Would I give New Sky Garden another try? I would actually because I'd like to try a few more dishes to get a more well rounded experience.  I was eating with others so had to order with their palates in mind. Portions were decent for the price paid. Overall, a pleasurable experience.

Always love coming to this place. Very consistent, friendly, and most importantly, the soup is always piping hot! Would recommend to anyone.

Very cosy place with delicious, unpretentious food that tastes home-cooked and natural and has wholesome ingredients. The menu is simple. The soup tastes hearty and clean - without lots of greasy or attention-grabbing flavour enhancers. The people are very nice and make you feel at home. Genuine hospitality and generosity m, offering free noodle top-ups to the delicious soup - if any were to remain in the pot.😊

House of Gourmet is a great spot for delicious Chinese food. The taste and quality of the food were excellent, and everything was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend trying the BBQ ribs, which were tender and flavorful, the soup, which was rich and comforting, and the beef with vegetables, which was fresh and well-seasoned. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a nice place to dine in. The waitresses were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. However, the washroom wasn’t in the best condition, which was a downside. Overall, if you’re looking for great food and good service, House of Gourmet is definitely worth a visit!

I’m from Asia so I have relatively high expectations when it comes to Chinese food haha hence the rating. Would probably find a better spot. But don’t get me wrong, the food is decent and does the job if you’re craving Chinese food. Decent serving sizes — great taste and flavor. Just had better that’s all. Service is nothing great, typical Chinese restaurant service. Atmosphere is what is expected of a Chinese restaurant. Nothing great. Just decent. Would go back if/ when convenient or with friends :)

Came here for dumplings and malatang soup, and they did not disappoint. They've changed the name and the sign, so it was a bit confusing heading in. The dumplings were decent, and I had a large selection of veggies to choose from for the soup. There is of course every other item you'd want to put into a hotspot, but I was happy with my vegetarian selection. I would definitely come back.

Such a great find! You can pick your soup base and all your ingredients and they'll cook it for you. Loved the herbal pork belly & chicken broth. They also have a ton of other food options (savoury pancakes, dumplings ofc etc.). Very reasonable price and delicious!
