Hunan Garden
Had me in and out real quick for lunch. Sesame chicken was kinda bland, fried rice was kinda... Flaccid? Appreciated the hot tea a lot, and everyone was very nice. Incredibly cheap, which I appreciate as well.
I had the Kung Pow Chicken for lunch, I came with rangoons, soup and hot tea for less than 8 bucks! Great affordable food.
China Buffet
the China Buffet is one of the greatest buffets I have ever been to especially another States. I loved the Decor this place like the glass art work the art work on the walls and the Decorations. I also like how it easy to get around the place from Tabled or booth to were the buffet is and how they have sign with words to tell What serving and what boo I also love how it's so organized none of them touching and Like it how at the end there are plates bowls for anyone to put on food while looking down the 'Buffet and see what's available. The service is very good I like it how for anyone After showing you to a table first they ordered your drinks then anyone can go and get your food Plus I also like it and how they will take your plates away and then also refillable the drinks and they are also very nice people .But the best part is the food They have some Chinese food like dumplings noodles chicken tenders they also have salad Macaroni and cheese shrimp potatoes and soup but the best part is in the dessert they have cookie Fudge and of course ice cream.I love how they have many favors of ice cream even though you have to go and scoop up by yourself but you can get as much as anyone want there also bowl there the ice cream to help. I like how the also do take out but you have to pick up because they do not do delivery And you'll have to order online or by phone. It's still pretty good food but there are just some food in there that just gives me a bad taste in my mouth but the rest of it still good. It also good place to been if you are in the area and i have been many time and it is good.
Added the 15% tip for 11 of us to bring his water and take our dishes That's just plain wrong! If they feel their food is worth an extra 15% and put it in the menu price so we know right away and not eat there thank you unsatisfied customer!!!!
Ichiban Sushi & Hibachi
Really great experience late Valentines evening. We came in around 930 and were sat right away. Service was prompt throughout our time. Everything was well cooked and flavorful. Our only feedback was that the chef was not as engaging as we’ve had at other teppanyaki places. At the end of the night, they gave all the women a complimentary rose gift which was very sweet.
I've had a few negative experiences ordering here. The food is definitely overpriced for the quality. A few items in particular have been bad such as sushi, hibachi chicken, crab rangoons, side salad, side soup, and sauces/dressings. The sushi is poorly rolled and falls apart when you try to eat it despite being very small. The hibachi chicken dinner was okay. The proteins (meats) are always overcooked and chewy. The side salad/soup you get are a few pieces of old lettuce and some hot broth. The crab rangoons have no trace of crab or imitation crab in them. The dough is pale and tasteless, while the tiny amount of filling is basically just sweetened cream cheese. Usually at Hibachi restaurants they offer several sauces and dressings that can be very delicious. That is not the case at Ichiban. The salad dressing, yum-yum sauce and other side sauces tasted bad. They barely had any flavor and seemed very watered down. I've had significantly better food at several other hibachi restaurants. Ichiban Sushi & Steak House (as my receipt reads) needs to make some big changes regarding service and quality.
Bombay Garden & Greek Eats
I was passing through on my way to Kalahari water park and decided to give this place a chance. It did not disappoint! The food was delicious- and more than fairly priced (like lots of options under even $12). I’ve had Indian food at about 5 different places now, and this has been mine and my boyfriend’s favorite of all! The atmosphere is very cozy and you can tell the owners are truly passionate about making both delicious food and happy customers. I loved everything about this place and definitely plan on coming back next time I’m in town! The locals seemed to really enjoy it too. :) Lots of take out orders and friendly faces.
Absolutely amazing. Authentic recipes and satisfying flavors. We sampled several items and every single one of them were excellent. This family owned an operated business put a lot of heart and soul into their food. Highly recommend. Thank you for an amazing meal.
Ron's Pizza
Ron’s Pizza: A Tragic Tale of Dough and Despair I stepped into Ron’s Pizza on a cold, drizzling evening, the kind where the streetlights flicker like dying embers and the air tastes of forgotten dreams. The neon sign buzzed overhead, its red glow reflecting in the puddles like the blood of lost hope. I hadn’t eaten all day. Not because I couldn’t, but because I wasn’t sure if I deserved to. The door creaked as I entered, a sad groan that mirrored the weight in my chest. The cashier, a hollow-eyed man with the expression of someone who has seen too much yet never enough, barely acknowledged me. I ordered a large pepperoni, a meal meant to fill the void, though I knew it never could. I sat alone, staring at the cheap plastic table, tracing the scratches left by those who had come before me—ghosts of past customers, each mark a testament to their own silent battles. The air smelled of melted cheese and mild disappointment. A child cried in the corner. His mother stared blankly ahead, chewing without passion. When my pizza arrived, I felt nothing. It was warm, sure. The crust had a decent crunch, the cheese stretched in obedient strings, the pepperoni curled like a sneer. But with every bite, I tasted something more—regret, lost time, the crushing realization that no matter how much I consumed, I would never truly be full. A man walked past the window outside, his face gaunt, his coat tattered. He peered in for a moment, eyes empty, then shuffled away. I wanted to call out, to tell him it wasn’t worth it, that nothing in here could save him. But I remained silent, just like everyone else. I finished my meal, paid my bill, and stepped back into the cold night. The neon light flickered one last time as I walked away, disappearing into the dark. Five stars. Good pizza
If you're looking for a hometown pizza place, this is it. My wife is bragged about this place for years. We come back to our hometown and there. It is ron's pizza. The crust was really good and I absolutely love the sauce. Just the right amount of toppings not to overwhelm it. Great job keep it up.
Dirko's Pizza
Although Dirkos is more on the expensive side it is always worth it. Load up all the pizzas with toppings. My family and I love the BLT Pizza most. The meat lovers is also great. All the sides are pretty good. I do prefer to order the wings well done, i feel they are not typically crispy enough. The subs are decent as well. I personally have never had the Stromboli but I've always heard great things about it.
This is a mom&pop take out one a conventional corner. It is Stallings size but BIG in taste. I stopped here on a whim, just to "see" what they had to offer. I knew I was going to order SOMETHING before I went in be abuse it smelled SO GOOD even from outside. Business was steady but it still only took 15 min for my counter order of a medium Stromboli with marina sauce. It was exactly the right amount for two of us with the ends left over to go with a salad tonight. I try to remember to take pictures and I did of the store while waiting for my order but I totally forgot when it arrived. It looked so good we had to eat as soon as we finished Thanking God. I have traveled in Italy and give this a rating as authentic flavor although I can't remember which province... I did not ask about bathrooms and honestly it was too small for my friend's motorized scooter to get in. It really is designed for takeout or delivery. With only a $2 delivery fee if your total order exceeds $15 and is within a 7 mile radius, I would call it handicapped accessible. I can strongly recommend Dirko's. Next time I plan to get the lasagna!
Buffalo Wild Wings
Exceptional service. The to go staff Brittany was so polite and accommodating. Scott prepared the Salads and we all were amazed at the presentation. Great job. We were very impressed
I had a particularly bad experience with this location when I ordered take out the other day. This is not the first negative experience I have had here. I ordered original buffalo boneless wings that were very dry. They had little to no sauce on any of them and seemed overcooked. My side of fries were cold and hard to the touch like they had been sitting around for a long time. I also got ranch and celery/carrots on the side that were disappointing in both quality and quantity. My one ranch cup was barely filled up. In comparison, my cheese curds appetizer was hot and tasted good. I even found a random tater tot that got thrown in with my order. This location could definitely improve in several areas such as quality control and customer service.
Chipotle Mexican Grill
My husband and I stopped in on a Saturday at 6pm after driving home from out of state. Servers (all 4 on the food line and the cashier) were not friendly. We ordered 2 bowls w/ chicken. Got less than spoonful of rice in each bowl because, as per usual, they were almost out. The rice was undercooked, and the serving of each of the toppings was stingy, including our bags of chips that were only 1/4 full (I can typically get 2 meals from 1 bowl and 1 bag of chips). As we were walking out, I noticed trash on the floor in the dining area. The food serving area was unkempt w/ dropped cheese/salsa/toppings everywhere. The chip bags had dried rice stuck to the bottom of them (which we found after we left). My guacamole was a brown/ green mix w/ 3 large brown chunks hidden w/in. We do not typically eat out but enjoy Chipotle as a go-to for takeout. This location has gone downhill tremendously in the last year, which is sad because options in Mt. Vernon are limited. I'm not sure we will be back....
never and i mean NEVER. Order online with this store. i try to be fair and kind at all times, but this has been an ongoing issue for years. many times i have ordered online for my food to not be correct, not filled up, or just completely wrong. today was the last straw. i hadn’t eaten anything all day, i thought chipotle sounds good! grave mistake. after tipping the dasher and paying for my food (which the store made no one aware of that they were out of ANY meat, let alone carnitas) i spent about $30 on this one meal. when it arrives, there is not a single speck of meat (carnitas or otherwise) in my bowl. door dash says i have to take it up with the store, so i get a $3 refund.
Dairy Queen Grill & Chill
My wife and I went in for lunch. I ordered a double cheeseburger, chicken strips and Popcorn Shrimp. After waiting 15 to 20 minutes they still had not brought our order to our table. So, I went to check on our order. The cashier said, "oh...we don't make popcorn shrimp any more, what would you like to order instead?" I said, I already ordered and paid for my order". He said, "oh...we don't make that anymore, would you like something else?" I said, "no, just give me a refund." Someone that i assume was the manager came over (I think to find out what the issue was), said something but I wasn't sure what. So, I asked "how long was I going to have to sit and wait before someone came and told me that you no longer make what I have already paid for?" The manager then said, "jcdjdi, nsoiewi. hsdty, temncx, heo lkmlewdmjd, ddpookewdd, ksndyu." At least that's what it sounded like was said. The cashier, then got someone to show him how to run the register so he could refund me for the food I ordered that they no longer make. Despite all this, I do have to say that the pictures they have on their menu are really nice pictures. Compliments to the photographer! PS: After reading all the "one star and 2 star reviews, and the generic responses to the UNHAPPY customers, I'm anxious to see the written response to my review. If you are actually reading and addressing these issues, please explain how you plan to correct the problems, other than continuing to apologize.
My visit to Dairy Queen Mount Vernon was outrageous. First of all, the brunette girl with glasses who served us was very rude and unpleasant to talk to. She only served us attitude because my blizzards didn’t even come out right. I inferred how I had a nut allergy yet my M&M blizzard was a peanut wonderland. It wasn’t just just one bite but multiple. I expect a full refund.
