8 Sisters Bakery & Cafe
What a fantastic little gem. The food is wonderful. The store smells like heaven. The bread is beautiful. Lots of bacon on the blt. It's worth going out of your way to grab a sandwich or pastry here.
This is the reason why you need to shop/dine at local establishments! It begins with the friendly staff who'll help you find that perfect treat! The donuts and the hand pies .. a great selection with various fruits and toppings, and they do take special orders for larger pies (my favorite is Key Lime pie)
TASTE OF PUNJAB DHABA
This was something that kind of popped up while we were driving back from Columbus and we thought to check it out. We ordered a dal makhani 2 plain parathas and a mango lassi. The lassi was yummy, reminded us of the lassis we get back home (a faint hint of home made yogurt always makes me smile). The dal grains were busy but ohmygod was it melt in the mouth feeling of goodness and yumm!!! The parathas were soft layered just so good. The food is made fresh, cos we were asked to wait 15-20 mins so the parathas and dal could be made fresh. I’m just glad we found the place, I’m going to add it to my regulars every time I’m traveling that way.
Really, really good Indian food here. And if you are American like me and don't know what to order, no worries, they make it easy with descriptions of each dish in English, like you'd find at Chinese restaurants. The ladies who are doing the cooking here are so nice and the food they make is really excellent. Oh, this is definitely worth a try, even if you're not familiar with Indian food. Try this, seriously.
Cheng's Gourmet
I have been going here for years it has always been my favorite chinese place but unfortunately the quality has gone down hill and the prices have gone up drastically. The fried rice never has any flavor anymore and the garlic chicken which is spicy today was unfortunately sweet for some reason. Probably won't be back for quite some time or never again
We order Chengs all the time and have never been disappointed. We even give special orders and it is correct every time. Truly for a small town place, this restaurant is really really good. The food is cooked to order and fresh. Service is quick as well. In Mount Gilead, there are only two real options for dinner. This place and the Mexican restaurant just down the street. The only drawback is sometimes they are closed for personal reasons, but that hasn't happened in a while. We will continue to patron Chengs.
