It looks like they're not very busy with walk-ins but they give a lot and it's good. We never wait very long, like 10-15 minutes only. One meal and soft noodles added with egg rolls and that's enough for 2 people!

The meal is pictured below "General Tso Chicken with white rice." It was a to go order and a large portion. The leftovers reheated nice for the next day. The picture is only half of the served portion. The meal was prepared very quickly while I waited. It would be appreciated if there was more sauce. There was just barely enough once rice was added. In the past, I have ordered the almond chicken and sesame chicken with no complaints. I will most likely try again at some point. The staff was very friendly and courteous. You can eat inside, but the space is limited. Parking could also be difficult if they are busy.

I have heard about this place ever since I moved to the area. Well, today I walked in and the first thing I noticed were smiling faces. It was 11:00 a.m. on the dot. I thought I was walking into a buffet but it's not a buffet. That's okay because they have the most popular dishes made already. You can choose from those or order off the menu. You can get two meats, rice and noodles for $10.99 plus tax. I ordered their most popular dish, the orange chicken as well as black pepper chicken. This food is so delicious. You can tell that they take pride in their food because of how flavorful and well done the ingredients are. So the cook spoke to me several times and I said "hey are you the owner?" And he said yes. What an outstanding personality! This guy is so friendly his customer service is top-notch. You can tell he knows what he's doing and he's been doing this a long time. Furthermore, the owner is cooks! I love that. The two ladies who waited on me were very very nice as well. The place was very clean and the food that was already prepared and looked beautiful. I should have taken a picture but I didn't bring my phone inside. Anyway, this was my first time here and I will be back for sure. Oh yeah, the to-go plate was stuffed as full as you could stuff it. They do not skimp at all.. they also gave me samples of the teriyaki chicken and the orange chicken. The teriyaki chicken was great. I was craving pepper chicken so I got it. It was great as well. This orange chicken though is phenomenal. It's not usually my go-to but it will be at this place. It's so good!

The staff went above & beyond & exceeded our expectations the food was amazing. Highly recommend the spicy chicken fries 11/10

Our family just ordered takeout. Wow we were very impressed! Crab Rangoon was amazing. Chicken Fried Rice, General Tso’s Chicken, and Garlic Chicken was delicious! Our kids are picky and they even loved it. Very friendly service as well! I highly recommend this Chinese place!

I've never been as impressed with a Chinese food place as I have here. We go for lunch with our grandmother every few weeks and this is always are favorite place. Since coming i haven't been disappointed by anything. Our waitress has been a 10/10 every time as well, even helping my grandma get her leftovers put away. Portion sizes are also a 10/10. Always have some leftovers. If you're in Holland this is THE China Inn.

We had a great lunch buffet at the Shanghai Grill (formerly Grand King Buffet). We were very thankful for the multi-tiered prices for the various age ranges of our children. The Mongolian Grill was part of the buffet and a welcome component of our meal for several of us in the group. Thanks for a great dining experience and God bless you and your families. Note, we did not try the Hot-Pot meals, and the price was about double the regular buffet for the Hot-Pot table section of the restaurant.

We ordered food here to go two days in a row and it didn’t disappoint. It was fresh and it was fast to pick it up. I guess the fact that they are a buffet did help. If I’m ever back in Holland Michigan I’ll definitely stop by and eat there again. The staff were friendly and very welcoming. Worth a visit for sure ☺️

Honestly, I'd avoid at all costs. No meat! And I'm no Karen - there was literally no meat - it was all fried breading. It's not a value or worthwhile at all. I ordered the General Tso combination plate and while there was a large amount of good, it was ALL BREADING.... THERE WAS LITERALLY NO CHICKEN AT ALL. IT WAS ALSO SOGGY AND OLD. The noodles were fine but the rice was a little burned, but there is no substance to the main entree. I really wish I had gone somewhere else. My photos can show how thin the chicken is - which is nothing but breading.

I dropped by for lunch and ordered the pho noodle soup. The place itself is pretty bare bones, and it’s in a gas station, but I can’t fault the food. The pho tasted great, and the meat was very tender. All of the sides added to the flavor, and there was just the right amount of herbal and spicy notes. The price was higher than I expected, but pretty standard for pho these days (about $14). Overall, I’m glad to find a place to order pho on this side of Holland, and I’ll have to try their other options at some point.

It was late and China Kitchen was one of the only places in the area open that served Chinese food, so I thought I’d give it a try. Upon entering, it was apparent that appearance and atmosphere was not the top priority of the restaurant, but it wasn’t super dirty or anything so I went ahead and ordered. The staff seemed friendly but I was surprised when they told me that they did not accept credit cards. The food was ready pretty quickly and was still reasonably hot when I arrived home with it. I tried the General Tso chicken with fried rice and was not overly disappointed or blown away. The egg roll was ok but I would skip the crab rangoons, they just had an odd texture and taste. At the end of the day, China Kitchen is so-so but not nearly as good as other Chinese restaurants in the area such as Shanghai or China Inn on the north side. Given the price vs the quality, I’m not sure that I will return. If you do decide to try China Kitchen, make sure to bring cash.

Found a worm a k a larva bug in my rice. Didn't want to give a refund but wanted to give me more bugs to eat.im good and this is a warning ⚠️ stat away from this business. They're selling bugs n the food and the food is old.

I love the atmosphere here so friendly and welcoming. So many choices. We got the orange chicken, steak and peppers, fried rice, noodles. Egg rolls vegetarian and crab ragoons . The orange chicken had good flavor I like mine a more crunchy than soft. The steak and peppers was delicious the meat was soft and delicate. Flavor bomb. The fried rice was also very good. Not big chunks of meat. Perfect. The noodles were plain to me. The egg rolls were crunchy which I loved. But not very Flavorful. Crab ragoons my kids loved them. They definitely give you alot of food for your money.

Everytime I go thru the drive thru. It sucks. I asked for extra sweet and sour as well as soy. and was given teriyaki, I also didn’t have straws. So i had to honk my horn and ask twice for two separate things. I worked in a drive thru and currently still work in food. Don’t make me feel inconvenient for your mess up. Also, The kids meals use to be a lot heftier for $8 a piece. Really nothing special about going to eat here even if it’s a special occasion. Won’t be back. Also Emely was rude.

04/23/25 I can't speak of the atmosphere, I ordered via DoorDash. The food though, as an absolute 10 across the board! The veggie rolls, fried dumplings, chicken teriyaki sticks, chicken w/rice noodles and chicken w/broccoli were all very nicely done. Nothing was too salty and very flavorful. I'd order from here EVERY time I'm in town.

I come here for lunch about once a week and I'm never disappointed! Buffet is small and they don't serve sushi (bummer) but the food is always hot, fresh and fully stocked! The green beans and rice noodle are some of the best I've ever had! Love coming here!

I want to share my experience at this restaurant, and unfortunately, it hasn’t been positive most of the time. The service often leaves a lot to be desired. Many times, the table is cluttered with plates, and it’s only at the very end that they offer or bring the drinks. Additionally, the staff seems overly focused on the tips, and their attitude makes it clear they’re not satisfied with what’s left. This creates an uncomfortable environment, which makes it hard to enjoy a pleasant meal. Good service is a key part of dining out, and unfortunately, this restaurant rarely delivers that. I hope they can improve these issues because it’s disappointing to leave feeling this way.

Haven’t been here since covid. Went here with a few friends, everything was going normal until payment time. I only got 1 plate of food, my second plate was going to be fruits since the food was cold I wasn’t interested in getting more. By the time I was going to get my plate of fruits the waitress came in running with me and my friends tab. I wish I could be kidding but this has to be the most embarrassing thing that has ever happened to me and my Friends. We had only been there for 12 minutes when the old short haired Asian lady brought us our total and didn’t leave the table. And one of my friends mentioned to her keep the change, we were going to leave her a larger tip but she argued that she wanted a bigger tip and would NOT LEAVE our table. Most of the people at my table were on their first plate mind you we got there at 5 pm so they weren’t closing any time soon. The total read $28 for my tab and she demanded the money right away and a 15 dollar tip right away, I had only ate half of one plate and I was so disgusted by the service that I didn’t even go for seconds . The Asian lady did that to all my friends and we felt so humiliated . After that my friend went to get ice cream and the lady told her she couldn’t get none because we had paid already after we were all forced to leave 15$ dollar tip each and our tab was brought after 12 minutes of being there mind you we were seated in a different room, when we came back to our table, the rest of our friends said we had to leave because our table had been cleaned and some of our friends plates were taken away while they where still enjoying there food. I will file a complaint to the state because of the cold food being served . But we will not be going here ever again. This was so humiliating and embarrassing because we were charged so much for nothing we couldn’t even get our ice cream and other customers were just looking at me and my friend when the Asian lady yelled at us. We should of called the police because when the short haired old Asian waitress demanded a 15$ tip from everyone she was squeezing my friends shoulder really hard . Never again, no wonder this place is always empty!

Worst Chinese food I’ve ever had in my entire life. I travel a lot for work and am sorely disappointed. It’s very dry and burnt. I had to drink two cups of juice / water to wash it down. Absolutely reprehensible!

If I could give 0 stars I would! We walk into the restaurant and the first thing we encounter is the man behind the counter yelling at a gentleman in the lobby asking about ordering. The man working is yelling about a two hour wait and waving papers/receipts in the air. The man just left speechless. Next was us to order. The man says to me what’s your number. I explain I have no number but here to order. He tells me he is too busy to take my order but points at a phone number for me to call to place my order. I call as I’m standing in the lobby, but the number don’t work. I let the man know the number he is telling people to call don’t work. He yells back, “two hour wait, then use website”. I left and didn’t bother. HORRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE!!

We ordered around dinner time and the rice seemed like it was from earlier that day and the crab ragoons were super hard. The food didn’t seem very fresh. I have ordered from here before with the same results.

Dont kmow whos running this place now, quality and flavor of food has gone down. Picked up an order on 2/14/25, was told 30 min on phone, actual time was 1 hour before my order was ready. Got the order home and found i was missing two dinners and no rice , never going back.
