China Wok
China Wok in Grove City is open Tuesdays through Sundays, closed on Monday and serves excellent Chinese food overall. They're serving excellent House Special Pho. Service is fast and courteous. Recommended!
This place is exactly what you would expect. It’s a staple restaurant here in GC. Don’t expect too much or too little. They have some really good dishes, but things can be hit or miss. You really just need to try different things and figure out what’s best and most likable to your taste. I personally would ignore the hyper negative reviews based on one single trip. People like this are irrational and want to give this place a single star. Based off of what? One dish? One experience? You have to be more realistic with restaurants like this. They have a TON of different dishes. And it’s definitely always more hit than miss. This is my Wife’s comfort food place. So she likes to order at least once a week. So we go fairly frequently. Bottom line. Try this place; More than once, and I guarantee you’ll end up finding some dishes that you love and become a regular.
New Peking House
Overall this is the crappiest Chinese restaurant I've been to. I've been there twice. Once almost a year ago and just today, and I've been disappointed both times. The food is very bland. I ordered the Bourbon Chicken. It states that it's supposed to be spicy but it's not. In the picture it shows it cooked with scallions and jalapenos but I got overly sweet overcooked dark meat chicken with large chunks of green bell pepper and the outside rind of an onion chopped up. The sauce just tastes like brown sugar and water. When I got home I immediately added garlic powder, black pepper, soy sauce, and siracha and it tasted halfway decent. I wish they would change the way they cook. It would be convenient for me to buy there since it's close to where I work, but I'd rather go to China Wok. China Wok is so much better!
Tried this restaurant for the first time, I ordered the bourbon chicken. The so called chicken was extremely hard, perhaps overcooked, horrible I might add. What a disappointment and waste of money. The rice was very dry, I did add the soy sauce. I been wondering all day was that really chicken? Would not recommend this place.
Lotus Pond
Leeky lo main! This is the worst Chinese food I've ever had! The lo main sauce was so thin there was a puddle of the sauce in the bags, the noodles weren't lo main noodles and over cooked mushy, the shrimp was rubbery the chicken dry the beef tough and dry,the egg rolls were chewy, the wonton soup if you could call it that was tasteless like hot water with under cooked wontons! The crab Rangoon was under cooked and had a nasty taste to it! Basically it seems like not only does this place use substitutes for the real thing but they can't cook, they also forgot to give me the extra egg rolls I ordered, but I wasn't going to eat them anyway! What a waste of money!
I went here and the chicken fried rice was really good. There was a gentleman in front of me who was not sure what he had gotten before. The cashier was really nice to him and tried to guess what he wanted by the description which I thought was really good customer service. There were several people waiting for food when I arrived. Lo mein is not as good as Kams but it is decent. Large portions. Ate on it for 2 and a half days. Will go here again.
