Hot Rice
I’m from out of town and got a hotel in the area to spend a day. I was craving Asian food and this looked the best. The Vietnamese lady helping me was great and generous. She was kind and helped with my questions. She gives a very fair serving of food. I was very satisfied with the serving they gave. I got the combo three and the box was packed! They let my try one of their dishes for free! And their dishes are delish. The orange chicken is as good as you can expect, better even. Jalapeño chicken, if you can handle it, has the perfect kick of spice. And their vegetable dish was good also. Some bites were a bit salty, although not many. Other than that, everything tasted fresh and was cooked nicely. Overall: 10/10
You guys need to hire some employees. Hot rice used to be a reliable place to go and eat. But lately I'm either standing in a line that doesn't move or they are closed for some reason or everyone is on a hour & fifteen minute break. While the food just sits there the whole time. Hot Rice is nose diving and fast.
Panda Express
This kitchen in Defiance is very hit or miss. Sometimes the chow mein is crunchy, sometimes the super greens are so under cooked you can barely eat them. Sometimes it feels like you got the chicken from Monday on a Thursday. But, Sometimes it's perfect. Edit: last 2 times I've gone they've forgotten a good portion of my order. I don't offer anything difficult. 3 entrée of orange chicken and chow mein. I'm not sure how they keep messing this simple order up.
In the service industry, attitude is everything. The people working in this store today had the wrong one. The girl who took our order acted put out that they had to make something fresh. Then they proceeded to drag their feet getting it made. After all that, the food didn't have the same quality as usual. It was definitely one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've had in a while.
