Number 1 Kitchen
I usually try to order takeout from this place each weekend. The food is usually good and is a fair amount for the prices. Each menu item I have tried so far has been good, no complaints. There is no place to eat in, this is strictly takeout only so be prepared for that. I recommend if you live in the area and want a good Chinese place to order from once in a while.
I don't know if there is new ownership, but there is new staff working, and some of the dishes have been changed slightly. All the changes have been great. Whoever made the changes fixed a bunch of issues that had started happening often. The food tastes amazing, and the dishes are always made perfectly.
China Garden
I've noticed consistently if you don't tip (why tip when they're not serving you and your already paying for the food and tax), your food is not as good and usually get one less crab rangoon LOL.
The best general gau and white rice I ever had. And I've had a lot of Chinese food. I've tried every one in the Windham. To Derry area. Also grew up in Boston and have traveled up and down the east coast and this place holds up very well.
King Doh Restaurant
Very friendly service and delicious fried rice. I got takeout but the dining room looked nice for an evening out.
The food tastes bad. Ordered orange chicken, crab rangoons, and pan fried dumplings. The dumplings were overcooked and tasted burnt. The meat filling was dubious. The chicken was also overcooked and tough to chew. The amount given is less than you’d expect from a ‘full oder’ at a Chinese restaurant. The goopy sauce and vegetable mix was not appetizing. They would not let us substitute the white rice for fired rice. The goons were pretty good but those seem hard to screw up. Overall bad and not worth the $42 dollars. I could spend less somewhere else for more and better food.
Wan Fu Asian Cuisine&Bar
My family and I have been looking for a new Chinese place in St. Louis to find and try out. We happen to stumble upon this one and I'm very glad that we did. I got the hot breast chicken and it was very flavorful and it was a great portion size. We also decided to try the fried rice which was also very tasty. They also had 50% off sushi rolls that day so we tried a shrimp California roll which was great. They have a lot of options on their menu so it was hard to choose so I will definitely have to be back to try some of the other menu options. The food didn't take long to come out And it wasn't too busy. This is a very cute place and had some adorable decorations.
Good service, clean restaurant, and the food came out quickly. The volcano roll is among the best I’ve tasted, but the majority of food did not stand out. We ordered a volcano roll to share as an appetizer, Wan Fu’s version is terrific. Easily our favorite item at the restaurant. The Wan Fu garlic beef was flavorful, both beef and garlic are prominent; a dish worth ordering. Bland - Beef fried rice, combination lo mein, and deluxe seafood. All tasted like they came from an inexpensive Chinese buffet, definitely edible; but not the sort of item you’d expect to order individually. Extras - the ginger had an undesirable taste, it had an off putting taste suggesting it needs thrown away. The wasabi was dry and gritty. Sliced lemons we requested were bad, three slices were brought to us; one cut the same day, another appeared to have been sliced hours before if not the day before, and the last lemon was orange in appearance suggesting it needed thrown out days ago.
China Bistro
If you go to China Bistro you will understand the lines in my pictures. For an incredibly reasonable price, you can enjoy some of the most authentic home-style Chinese cuisine in the area. I enjoyed pig feet (猪脚饭)for the first time and will certainly be coming back to try to rest of their menu. The meat is cooked perfectly tender.
Delicious and authentic. The #1, beef pho, is my favorite. The stir-fried rice is also really good and crisp and browned just right. This is not your typical Chinese-American restaurant but the food is fantastic and made to order. Be aware they close typically from 3p-3:30p every day for staff lunch.
LuLu Chinese & Dim Sum
I used to go to this place about 20 years ago and it was pretty good! Not so much anymore. Everything was sticky and dirty. We ordered edamame which came out and rather than it's typical vibrant green color, was yellow and brown. We didn't wait for our entree and left $20 on the table and walked out. Absolutely disgusting experience.
I’m no Chinese food connoisseur, but I think this place is straight gas. I tried all kinds of dishes, traditional and Americanized, and they were all executed to perfection. The food came out quick and was piping hot. I can’t wait to go back and enjoy an amazing Chinese dinner.
China King
Sigh. This place was fantastic once upon a time, but not anymore. Third time they’ve had children take the order and it is wrong when we pick it up. First time, they included seafood in the entree. This time, looks as if they didn’t bother to chop the vegetables and included a half an onion. They’ve also switched egg rolls to bite size pieces (no doubt frozen). When you bring the incorrect orders to their attention, they’re annoyed and claim they’ll make a complimentary dish next time. I want to assume it’s a scale issue, because they’re much busier now with online orders - but I can’t get over the now unfriendly service and getting all the way home to find they’ve given me something completely different than I ordered.
Tried this location for lunch via Door Dash because of how well liked other China King locations are. Three positives: 1) super fast! 2) The order came in a super cute reusable bag, and 3) the crab ragoon was delicious. Everyone got different things, and no one was happy. The chicken didn't feel or taste like chicken. Almost everything had a fishy taste. Egg rolls were burnt. Oh, and we did get fortune cookies that were good, not that those are made in-house. Overall, pretty disappointed especially compared to other China King locations. Wouldn't recommend and won't order again.
Joy Luck Chinese Buffet
I recently visited Joy Luck Chinese Buffet and had a fairly average experience. The food options available were not bad, though I found the selection to be somewhat minimal. If you're looking for a wide variety of dishes, this might not fully meet expectations, but what they did offer was satisfying. The highlight of our visit was definitely the service. Despite the restaurant being fairly busy, we were seated right away, which was a pleasant surprise. The staff was courteous and attentive throughout our meal, which added a positive note to our experience. As for the atmosphere, it was a bit on the bland side. There wasn't much going on in terms of decor or ambiance, so it felt a little understated. If you’re looking for a vibrant or themed environment, you might find it somewhat lacking. Overall, Joy Luck offers decent food and excellent service, but could benefit from enhancing its ambiance and menu variety. A solid choice for a straightforward buffet experience.
Their dishes are hidden gems! Very tasty and authentic Chinese food at a fair price! It’s underrated in the Google Map reviews. I’ve been there several times. This is also a great place for vegetarians. This time, I went with my Indian friend who only eats vegetarian, and he liked the eggplant and tofu dishes a lot.
St. Louis Kitchen
Fast service, good food. The crab ragoon could have a bit more crab in it, but it was cooked well and tasty. The rice is yellow and I usually like mine darker, but again it was cooked well and tasty. The prices are fair and the customer service was great. They made sure we had all the utensils and sauces we needed. We had a big order and everything was ready in 15 minutes so if you need something quick, this is the place.
Friday dinner take-out combination plate: Szechuan chicken + fried rice + spring roll. The food was hot and mildly spicy. Vegetables and meat were fresh. For $9.99 you cannot go wrong! I will be back next week.
China First Restaurant
Just ordered same thing yesterday- not positive this is the cause but definitely have a stomach bug out of the blue Delicious ALWAYS happy when we order here. Fresh hot
Came here a while back and was recommended this restaurant. I did an online order and got a bunch of food to celebrate my partners birthday. I started off ordering appetizers like Crab Rangoons and Fried Pot Stickers. Then got a quart of Egg Drop Soup, Fried Rice, Pork Fried Rice, Vegetable Fried Rice and White Rice. An order of Lo Mein, Beef Lo Mein, Chicken Lo Mein, and 2 Vegetable Lo Mein. For the main dishes I ordered Beef with Broccoli, Orange Chicken, 2 General Tso's Chicken, Shrimp with Cashew. The employees were very nice and even help me carry the food out. I really liked the Crab Rangoons and Egg Drop Soup. But everything else was really tasty as well. Cannot go wrong here and I really recommend this restaurant.
