Szechuan Palace
I don't know if you've ever had the hot and sour soup but it is delicious. Beefy broth with tofu, noodles, and mushrooms with a little bit of a spicy kick. Don't knock it before you try it.
First time dining here. Server was very polite and helpful when ordering. Clean. Nice atmosphere. Flavorful meal. Will definitely go back.
Panda Express
I never thought I’d have to write a review like this, but my experience at Panda Express (Winston-Salem location) was absolutely unacceptable. I ordered the Super Greens, and to my shock and disgust, I found a fully cooked grasshopper mixed in with the vegetables. This wasn’t a small insect—this was a large, noticeable bug that should have never made it past quality control. I immediately lost my appetite and was completely disturbed by what I saw. Food safety should be the top priority of any restaurant, and the fact that something like this ended up in my meal is beyond alarming. It raises serious concerns about how their ingredients are cleaned and handled. I have reported this to the local health department, and I strongly urge management to take this issue seriously. I also want others to be aware of this incident, because finding a foreign object—especially something as unsanitary as an insect—in food is completely unacceptable. Panda Express needs to step up their food safety practices immediately. I will never eat here again unless I see clear evidence that they have improved their standards. If you care about cleanliness and food safety, think twice before eating here.
Order to go. And I’m shocked at the portions. Literally I had four broccoli and a little bit of the super greens. Feel like they were truly slacking today. I have been to this location multiple times and it’s never been this horrible.
East China Restaurant
I have to say, this was a profoundly disappointing meal. There were only two highlights in the whole experience: the flavor and crispy texture of the chicken with lo mein and the pork egg roll. The dish I got was Mongolian beef. To start with, it was nothing but onions and a few dried (inedible) chilis. As you can see from my picture, it is mostly white and green onions. There were some bamboo shoots in there, but not that many, and they had been cooked too long, as they were as soft as the onions, if not softer. The seasoning on the dish was nothing like I experienced before, and that is, unfortunately, not a compliment. It tasted of Asian BBQ sauce and ketchup? The flavor was also so light that the incredible amount of onions dominated the dish. I also got fried rice with my dish, and it was just yellow rice with no vegetables or protein. Another disappointment. The spring rolls were also highly disappointing. They came with the “combo” of the two dishes we got, so I understand they are free, but if you are going to serve them, please ensure that they have filling and are an addition and not a detraction from the dish. The spring rolls were filled with next to nothing, mostly the fried dough used to wrap them. My partner got Lo Mein and General Tso’s chicken, and the flavor and crispiness of the chicken were incredible. However, her Lo Mein was kinda tough and definitely under seasoned, as it had no flavor, and what a shame, as the sauce from the chicken was delicious. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I always save my leftover Chinese food for another day, but these went straight into the trash after we consumed the only delicious items, the General Tso’s chicken and the one pork egg roll.
If I could give 10 stars, I would! I went here for the 1st time on lunch break around 11 and showed the nice sweet lady working the register, a pic of a meal they sell. She knew exactly what it is and made it spicy for me! The shrimp lo mein and general tso chicken was SOOOOO GOOD OMG! It was fresh, the chicken was crispy how I like it and the sauce was the bomb! I didnt have to add soy or duck sauce, it was so good! Thank you for your great customer service, highly recommend this!
Great China
Ordered carry out from Great China. Meal was ready in minutes and when we got the bag home, everything was packaged very well in a paper bag which kept everything super hot and not all wet in the bag. The food was fresh and very good. Dumplings, wonton soup, fried rice, orange chicken, and spring rolls.
The food is great and the price is good. However, the restaurant is really set up more for take out. While there are a few tables, most are occupied by people waiting for their take out orders.
ASIAN BISTRO
I placed an order online coming to a total of 30 bucks including a two dollar tip. I went and picked up my order but when I got home the chicken on a stick was super dry and overcooked, their chicken fried rice had old burnt food from whatever they cooked their rice in along with mushy questionable chicken, my fried dumplings were soggy and my egg roll was also overcooked. There is definitely better places around winston and I definitely do not recommend eating here.
I ordered the fried chicken n shrimp fried rice, DONT DO IT THE CHICKEN WAS HORRIBLE THE BONES WERE BLACK N SHE WOULD NOT REFUND FOR THE CHICKEN!! I HAVE NEVER N SHE SAID THEY CANT CONTROL HOW THE CHICKEN IS!! NEVER AGAIN!!
Mr Lu's Chinese Restaurant
Mr. Lu’s food is very tasty. The Won Ton soup is amazing and full of won tons. The crab Rangoon is okay, it needs more cream cheese and a little more sweetness, but the sweet and sour sauce helps with that a bit. The curry chicken is slightly spicy and has great flavor, but it’s mostly onion and very chinchy with the chicken. The steamed dumplings were good, but lacked color and that extra pizzazz. I really liked how they didn’t “fluff” them with rice noodles. I also ordered the pepper steak with onion, but I haven’t tried that yet. Still a very solid place for Chinese takeout.
Ordered takeout from Mr Lu’s (Robinhood) and was surprised what we received. The chicken chow mein had ALOT of onions, which overpowered the celery and cabbage (or lack thereof). The house special fried rice was very bland. The pepper steak was pretty good (just wish it had a little more “steak” in the dish). Usually we have great reviews for Mr Lu but was disappointed this time around. Hope this restaurant does not begin to decline in delivery. Plan to be back and give them another try. My hope is that they do better next time.
China Dragon
Was overcharged, be aware that the menu online is not updated, because that’s the only way I could guess why i was charged $40 for 2 combination plates and a side of dumplings. I raised an eyebrow but still paid because it was ready and we were hungry. But no itemized receipt so I have no way of knowing. Food was so so so bland, the veggies were undercooked, crunchy and the meat chewy. The sauces barely had any flavor. Barely any meat is given, the large chopped veggies take up most of the plate. Just overall so disappointing, don’t even bother ordering here, not worth the price point.
Hear me out…fried chicken. You heard me right. When we want wings or deliciously fresh fried chicken we drive across town and pick it up here. Heck, we’ve taken it to other people’s houses as a pot luck. They thought we were nuts - then they tried it. Chinese food is also great. It’s fresh and vegetable forward so you feel like you’ve eaten something with some vitamins. If you are the type of carnivore who picks out veggies this may not be a great fit.
Mr. Lu Chinese Restaurant
Recently moved to town and was looking for a Chinese spot and I found this place. Apparently this restaurant has been in the family for over 30 years. The food was amazing and everything was cooked to perfection. The workers were also super friendly. The restaurant is mainly take out but they do offer tables for customers that need a place to eat. Would bring my friends and family here the next time they come to visit.
Disgusting Fried rice no veggies Not even onions. Very bland. Chicken overcooked! Dry Waste of time and money! Try somewhere else This morning at 10:30 I've ordered fried rice it had onions and peas without me ordering! Bad business! I won't go back Next week garbage
P.F. Chang's
Since we entered the hostess brought us to the table with a nice and welcoming attitude. We love our chicken wrap and this time we went with the three course dinner for two. Great flavors and variety. Service was great, Nichole went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our meal.
Second time ordering through Uber eats absolutely disgusting. Beef overcook and very DRY!! Broccoli tastes like it comes out the freezer. Very disappointed!!!! What a waste of time and money!!!! I can't even believe that you would serve something like this to anyone
China Two
All of our food was amazing. My husband and son loved the orange chicken and egg rolls. And the egg drop soup was some of the best I’ve ever had!
The food has always been good, but today (March 14, 2025), I ordered sweet and sour chicken. When I got home (50 miles away), I was really disappointed. No sauce on the sweet and sour chicken, lo mein noodles were very bland. I paid extra for lo mein noodles. In the futureI will get the sweet and sour chicken, etc. at Hanes mall. Today waste of money. I will probably not go back, and the person that served me seemed angry.
Jade Garden chinese restaurant
Super friendly service, and really quick turnaround after ordering. But flavor and price wise it was a letdown. $17 for lo mein was shocking, but that’s my fault for just ordering without looking at the menu (lo mein at most Chinese takeout spots is $6-$9). I was hoping the flavor would blow my mind for that price, but sadly it really left me regretting my decision to order from here. Just too bland. Very hot, fresh, and loaded with toppings, but not flavorful at all. I wish I liked it because they are very friendly, but unfortunately it wasn’t anything special.
Tasty food. Obviously fried is unhealthy but every so often I go here for a guilty pleasure. The owner is so kind. The portion is good.
New Sichuan
My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant for lunch after our class at Forsyth Tech. The inside feels very welcoming and cozy, whilst looking slightly upscale with the white table cloths and nice chairs. We ordered many things, which included the chicken Lo Mein, Ma Po Tofu with Minced Pork, and the Pork Soup Dumplings. All of the dishes came out quickly! They were all steaming hot and fresh. The taste of each of the dishes was absolutely savory and delicious. The staff were also very polite and made sure to check up on us multiple times. I will definitely be back soon to try more of your delectable food!
All the staff were nice and handled my order with care. However, I did not like the food and that may be a preference thing. I had the Chongquig noodles, pork soup dumplings, and fried chicken wings. The chicken wings were great besides the flavor component which was lacking. The soup dumplings had me very disappointed because that’s the whole reason I went there and they were not at all what I was expecting. The Chongquig noodles did not work for me and unfortunately I couldn’t eat them and that’s purely because I couldn’t get past the oil and the texture of the noodles. With all that being said, I know this is a well liked place. It just wasn’t for me unfortunately.
