Hong Kong Cafe
We went here looking for some good Chinese food, and ended up with flavorless food, and a high price for flavor. For us to eat it cost $52 so we expected at least decent food. However the dumpling taste and feel like mush. The rice is flavorless, and the chicken even worse. It’s hard, half cold and half hot, it’s like it’s been microwaved. The drinks had a bad after taste and after working in a kitchen, it’s because they aren’t changing the spouts to their drinks. There was no seasoning and we had to douse it in pepper. The only redeeming quality was the staff. They were funny, nice, and put forth effort to make sure we were comfortable. The restaurant has character is one way to put it. You can see where it was leaking from the roof. I don’t care about the look of a restaurant, but the quality of the food. Overall food awful, service great, and atmosphere was meh. Also to top it off, those bottles in the photos, we tried the sause, and it’s been bad for a while. Could seriously make someone sick.
The restaurant is old, they try their best with maintenance but there’s better Chinese cuisine out there. It was also 45 dollars for three plates? It seemed way too expensive for the quality of food we got.
