Fast, hot, fresh and delicious! Ordered the sesame chicken w/pork fried rice lunch special, bbq spare ribs w/pork fried rice combination (comes with an egg roll) and an order of fried chicken wings (4 whole/connected wings) It came to $23 and could easily feed 3, maybe 4 people. I may be bias, because I eat here when I get Chinese (maybe twice a month) but I choose to come here (Vanceboro) as opposed to anywhere in New Bern. *2 wings pictured in photo, I broke them in half & pulled the tips off when fixing the plates

I was very impressed with the friendly and courteous staff, the food was ready in the specified time and perfectly prepared. Unfortunately I failed to photo the food, I got chicken fried rice, shrimp fried rice and pepper steak, with egg rolls. Great meals šŸ˜‹

This is the best take out Chinese food in New Bern, NC. When you pass by you think, ā€œI wonder if that’s any good?ā€ Well I’m here to tell you, it’s fantastic!!! If you like Asian food , live in New Bern, and are searching for a good place…try Chinese Express!!!

Overall not bad. Crab Rangoon was the best I've had in a while. Egg drop soup was delicious but had way too many green onions. White rice was good. Fried rice was ok. Sweet and sour chicken was way over cooked and too crispy.

My cousin and I went to have lunch there 30 minutes after opening food was cold and very bland staff was rude. I felt like some things were a few days old. Had to ask for white sauce for the chicken cause it wasn't on the bar. The girl brought my cousin cold sauce like right out of fridge. We left very disappointed. Needless to say we only had 1 plate barely could finish it. We went to 2 stores to shop afterwards and we both started feeling sick. We both ended up getting sick. We will never go back there. Don't waste your money.

Got takeout. Food seemed like it was a few days old. My teriyaki on a stick was hard and dry. We went back and they replaced it with chicken wings…which we didn’t ask for. we ordered the Cho mein and it was literally vegetables in water. This is the worst food iv ever had

My friends,if you love Chinese Cuisine, like I do, it's vital that you come by this jewel of the orient; fresh stylish food. It's a nicely, fantastically clean, restaurant! Small tables are ready,if your family prefers to sit,or you could just order take-out & enjoy....

They gave themselves a 30 dollar tip off my card and I had given them a 3 dollar tip for simple meal. I would have gone back to complain but I lost my receipt. Anyway maybe it was a mistake on their part when entering the numbers but I will never eat their again. It happen on June 25 2023

Best Chinese food in town! High quality ingredients, generous portions, and always so fresh! I order the Mei Fun which I don't recall seeing on the menu, and it is so good! Even their shrimp are the larger size with tons of flavor. When I order, I get extra vegetables and extra egg - never disappointed! My mom is actually the one who recommended I try this restaurant - she was visiting from out of town and decided to give it a try. *plate pictured is my own and the portion on the plate isn't even half of what I got in the order!*

Canton Chinese Restaurant is an okay spot if you’re craving Chinese food in New Bern, but it has its ups and downs. The food is generally good, with some dishes standing out more than others. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a decent option for a quick meal. However, the service can be inconsistent. Sometimes, the staff is friendly and efficient, but other times, it feels rushed or inattentive. The wait times for takeout can be unpredictable, and the food quality seems to vary depending on the day. Some dishes are fresh and flavorful, while others can be overly greasy or lacking seasoning. Overall, it’s not a bad place, but it’s also not the best Chinese food in town. If you’re nearby and need a quick bite, it’s worth a try—but don’t expect anything exceptional.

Place was great! I dont know why it's got low ratings. My order was done in less then 10mins and tasted amazing.

I ordered the house special fried rice with the order of chicken wings. The wings was hot but the rice was cold not only was the rice cold but the all the shrimp was improperly cleaned... Nevertheless I was willing to overlook it but what made me write a review was the very poor customer service when I came in he looked at me dead in my eyes and didn't speak and then when he brought my order to me he slammed it on the counter and went to sit back down I don't know what type of people he is used to coming in but I'm from out of town I'm not from here and to treat people like that it's unacceptable.

Absolutely delicious food here! Its ACTUALLY good Chinese food!!! I will keep coming back here while I live in New Bern! Only thing that is not good is the "fried rice" I put quotes around that because it's honestly just plain rice with a color to it.

I will not be going to this Chinese place ever again. Here's the story. I just ordered food from them through the doordash app and so one of their workers did the delivery and when he came he sat my food on my porch so I went out the door and I told him politely that I have a doorbell and he got rude and said you saw me right. And I said that doesn't matter the doordash app says to hand it to me. So he just kept running his mouth. Then I called to the place and they had the manager call me back but not one time would she allow me to get a word in to explain what I was calling for because she got on the phone and started yelling and being nasty and rude. I could not get one word in. I kept asking her to let me talk but she just kept on. Then she said the guy was new and how would I even know that. But if he was new he ought to have been given instructions on how to treat customers. If the boss is acting ignorant how do you expect the workers to act right. Smh. Not one time did I allow the woman to take me out my character. She got mad because I told her she was wrong for not allowing me to speak, she kept on yelling then I told her she's doing that because she knows I am right. I will never eat from them again. They are rude and they do not reprimand their workers. I am also going to call corporate and report them as well. And BBB.

Run for the alka-seltzer. I should have read the reviews before ordering. Yes the worst chinese food I have ever tasted along with an egg roll dripping with grease, and the food isn’t cheap. $25 for two take out entrees. There’s a very loud screaming rude woman behind the ordering counter which was yelling at the employees, I don’t understand Mandarin, but I ā€œcould tellā€ she was upset. The ceiling has ā€œhangingā€ pealing paint just waiting to fall on someone. I’d rather starve than eat here again, or find a snack venting machine somewhere.

Trash food and service. Ordered pepper chicken with onion and it’s nothing like the picture they are displaying on their profile. Couldn’t eat this crappy food which is basically chicken and green pepper smothered in some salty sauce. Place is super chaotic too. Won’t be back.

I think I'm going to start rating places to eat by Praise Reports, Or Prayer Requests, and this place is in need of some Prayer. Gave this a chance after my bad experience in James City, having finally recovered, willing to try Chinese Cuisine, I am determined to find some place that's at least 4 stars, well Taste of China looked like it might be it as it had that hidden hole in the wall feel and look, but as soon as I opened the door and was greeted by this dinning room, and order off paper sheets cafeteria style I was having a serious deja vu moment back in James City. I and Agent 113, Ordered: Egg Rolls Steamed Dumplings Beef and Broccoli Chicken Chow Mien Orange Chicken Hot and Sour Soup Teriyaki Beef Skewers Drinks are in caned form only, no alcohol. Sprite, Dr. Pepper, Orange Soda, Mountain Dew, whatever you pick, remember 2 cans per-person, you will be thirsty , and will want another can, this trick will save you from waiting. The room is odd, when we ate there we're order after order going out, but none dined in. Place was dead, I will say it was clean, had a kind of 80s feel to it. Unlike the place in James City, this place was at least clean and organized. Well, we talked to a guy who said he went there at least once a week, he said some times it's good, sometimes it's bad... interesting. Ours was bad. Never had orange chicken that was bread and fried, served with this orange goop, looked like Slimer from Ghostbusters trying to pass a kidney stone. The chicken was hard and dry, more like a chicken nuggie from Gold Arch World than anything I've had in Chinese restaurants before, was bummed out looked forward to a classic titan. Hot and Sour Soup was Hot, like that it, couldn't taste the sour which is usually from the Chinese Black Vinegar, this was like eating a bottle of hot sauce, but you only taste burning. It was so hot, spicy hot, now I can take some hot stuff, but this wasn't classic Hot and Sour. This was just Hot and Hot. Beef Broccoli would have been fine, but the broccoli was raw, hard, too bad, as it was the only thing we had that held that classic flavor, think this was the last places problem too in James City. Egg rolls were dry, tasted like they were old, as was the oil they were cooked it. The Steamed dumplings were so thick and gooey I thought I was eating globs of glue, the insides weren't bad, ate two or three by gutting them. Teriyaki beef skewers were actually the only really good thing though a bit tough. And the Chow Mien was oily. Into the trash bin it went. You bus your own tables here, there is a tip jar so if you have cash hold back from tipping, as this place hits you first then you see what it's like... Been seeing this kind of thing more and more popping up in Asian Cuisine style restaurants, you tip good or big then feel like you got robbed, I tipped fair and good but still felt robbed and disappointed. I saw one baby high chair the classic wood style. The young woman who took my oder from the counter was friendly, had no issues with customer service, yet that's easy there really isn't any. No I'll not be going back, any time soon, maybe in a year and see if some things have changed...also if eating in and it's early evening and sun is going down, sit on the left side, as the Right side gets washed out with blinding sunlight. Bring a jacket too, gets very cold in there. When after a few weeks or months pass and I feel up for Asian Cuisine again, I'm hoping to find, determined in fact to find one good Asian place. I'm amazed places like Taste of China have lasted this long, serving sub-par or low food, no real service, place is drab, food way too spicy, too dry, tastes old, of old oil, or oily...sad. I guess when there isn't any other option but this people just take what they can, but that's the only way, they've stayed up and running. Wasn't even worth what I paid, dropped almost a hundred bucks...never got a free 2 liter soda either as advertised on the menu...I guess tips don't count, my wallet says otherwise.

This is what you want in a Chinese Restaurant. They have the BEST Sesame Chicken! Perfect Sauce! NO ONE has this sesame sauce, I’ve tried every Chinese Restaurant from New Bern to Morehead City. They also have an AMAZING Egg Roll, I ate it so quickly & forgot to take a picture. They are full of meat & carrot with a little cabbage. NO ONE else has them like this, Sooooo Good! I also get their Hot & Sour Soup usually $1 extra tofu, I do add Black Vinegar at home.

I drove thirty minutes for some panda express today and the girl who took my order gave me attitude. When I was placing my order she continued to read off my items and I confirmed it was correct but once I paid and got my food, I was missing the order of crab Rangoons and my side of orange chicken. Cashier also did not provide a receipt. Very disappointing service. 2/5 stars.

If I could give this Panda Express location no stars I would . Kayley G had a very nasty attitude and was rushing us to order so she can start cleaning the lobby so they can close the store . I asked her to sample the orange chicken as I’ve never had that before and I seen the ā€œask us to sample anything ā€ sign and she gave me a nasty attitude saying ā€œwe don’t do that anymore ā€ if you guys don’t sample anything anymore then you should take it off the screen as that is false advertisement. We got here at 8:30 pm and they don’t close until 9:30 and all the food looked dry . I asked if I can get 2 entrees and no side and Kayley G told me it will still be the same price . Highly unsatisfied with her service. She should not work in customer service .

We ordered shrimp chop Suey . It was good veggies were fresh little over cooked.egg rolls and egg drop soup horrible . Never in my life have I had orange broth and eggs were over cooked no flavor. Whoever took my order over phone was not very nice . I did tip the driver and they were over 1/2 hr late from what we were told would only be 45 minutes .When they were below choppers place at knights inn we would get food at least once a week. And always great. I gave them a chance and never again

Food was amazing and waiter Justin was very sincere and understand of my wife’s needs being she can’t have certain foods; our food took some time to come out but I realized shortly after it was all hand cut prepped and made to order for my order! I just wish the store looked as good as the food tastes. I ordered the Mapo tofu with chicken.

I usually don't post reviews, but after ordering from here I have to say something. The chicken sauce tasted like something you'd buy at walmart in a jar that's supposed to resemble general tsao...but worse, crab rangoons were the worst I've ever had, and the noodles were greasy. However the service was friendly, so that's something.

I eat here a lot. Always delivery. Delivery times are typically 40 mins which understandable. You get a lot of food for your money. I love their spring rolls, chicken Lo mein, and their chicken and broccoli, I am not a fan of the gerenal tso's, but that is just personal preference. This is also probably the only place in town that delivers. I have called around. The food always arrives hot and fresh.
