Amazing Wok
Such a great little spot! The atmosphere is sort of old and dreary but the food is nothing short from amazing! We got the pepper chicken spicy & the orange chicken. Loved it all and will be back.
I’ll admit that I’m a tad leery when it comes to ordering Chinese/Asian cuisine nowadays. However, Amazing Wok’s food hasn’t disappointed. I’ve visited this location multiple times during Door Dash deliveries and decided that I wouldn’t spend money here based on one of the younger ladies’ attitudes, but the older ladies that worked this past Sunday afternoon and this afternoon were very pleasant and answered all of my questions. The vegetable egg rolls and vegetable fried rice (lunch special) were both delicious. A plus— the food is not full of grease! Lunch specials are the best deals here.
THE IMPERIAL TREASURE
Went there with friends for weekend lunch. Descent menu offerings. The restaurant is on the second floor. Great service. Dim sum tasted good but pricey. The pace of food serving to the table was comforting. Chongqing Spicy chicken was satisfying, as the taste of the peppercorn was pretty obvious (comparing to some places where it’s only hot pepper). Glad they offered the bone-in option; wing meat tasted better than breast. Fish was Pickled Cabbage in Golden Soup was another good choice - we went with the sea bass option - I wish there were more tofu in it. I can see that the restaurant is still working on its interior design and getting ready for the bar. Hope it would be able to serve more guests and more offerings in the near future. They also have the capacity to host large groups. Parking was somehow difficult. The parking lot in the front was free but super busy especially during meal time.
All the food was delicious! We tried the pork soup dumplings and shrimp dumplings both great. The spicy wontons were very good but quite spicy so watch out. Chicken Lo Mein and Singapore Noodles were awesome! The Dan Dan noodles had an interesting flavor but were super spicy couldn’t eat more than a few bites. If you’re a spice person you will love it.
Pei Wei Asian Kitchen
Customer service was excellent. Looks can be deceiving. Orange chicken looked very good but not much orange flavor. Fried rice wasn’t cooked still crunchy didn’t have much flavor either and all the veggies in it were freeze dried or crispy raw. The fried egg in the rice didn’t not look very appetizing, it looked almost burnt. Donut holes were good, so was the sweet dipping sauce.
The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. Delicious spot for some casual dining. I ordered Mongolian Beef- it was delicious. The staff members are incredibly sweet and it made dining here so much better. Thank you for taking care of this Jersey girl’s desire for a delicious lunch !!
Lotus Cafe
Ok wow 3 years ago this place was the best in Ballantyne for the $….. The past two visits food has been a nightmare…Anything chicken comes out dry regardless of how much sauce it has . I think that is their coverup but ends up a mushy mess with string chicken. Avoid beef at all cost unless you are a boiled in a bag .. “MRE” kind of person .
My first and last time here. It smells horrible like bad eggs and is way too thick like slime. 😓🤢🥴 I was very hungry but I could not even swallow a spoonful.
