Beijing Cafe
Had a wonderful dining experience at Beijing Café USA! The handmade big bowl noodles were incredibly chewy with a rich, flavorful broth. The dumplings were delicious — thin skin, juicy filling, and you could really taste the freshness of the ingredients. Every homestyle dish came in generous portions and brought back the comforting taste of home. The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and the environment was clean and comfortable. Definitely a place I’d love to visit again, and highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Northern Chinese cuisine!
This was one of the best meals I’ve ever had- and that’s not an exaggeration! The owners Chef Pong and Lily are incredibly attentive and personable. From the dumplings to the hot and sour soup to the house made noodles- ever course was exceptional! Definitely make the trip to this amazing restaurant if you get the chance- you’re guaranteed to leave full and satisfied, planning your next trip there!
Super Wok
Have ordered from here for years- since I moved to Raleigh in 2020. Never had an issue or anything until now. Leaving a review since I found not one but two flys in my lunch today (one small and one large). I understand kitchens can have a fly if a door is left open or something but to have two in one meal???? Unacceptable and raises questions about how many bugs are in the kitchen overall… I will never order from here again.
Have been here many times in the past 13 years, still one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. Their food quality and service just never let me down!
Hong Kong Restaurant
They changed the owner, and the food quality and taste have gone down a lot. It’s not the same old Hong Kong restaurant anymore. Today, I even found out they charged me more than what was listed on the menu. They also charge customers 3% more for using a credit card. What a disappointing experience now. It used to be our favorite Chinese takeout, but sadly, everything has gone in the wrong direction after changing the owner. I recommend you check each item price before using your credit card. They did not list the details of your food items. You will be surprised at how much more they charged you.
Yeah, I knew they changed hands before I actually heard. The food has really gone downhill. We realized it at first when the chicken wings were suddenly MUCH smaller. A month ago, I got egg foo young, it was sitting in a huge pool of oil and the oil was bitter like it was being re-used for a long time. I pressed the egg foo young in tons of paper towels, but the sauce was so awful I threw the entire thing out. What a waste. This time (about a month later) I ordered moo shu pork. I've ordered both of these dishes multiple times. The moo shu wasn't very flavorful and the veggies were all soft, not even the cabbage was crunchy...it was a pile of soft mush. We used to come in once a week, but I think we're going to need to find another place.
Miss Chang An
I tried the Roujiamo and Hot & Sour Noodles at this restaurant, and both were absolutely delicious! The Roujiamo was crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with a generous portion of flavorful meat. The hot & sour noodles had the perfect balance of tangy and spicy, with chewy noodles that soaked up all the flavor—so addictive! The service was friendly, the food came out quickly, and the place was clean and cozy. It really reminded me of the taste of home. I’ll definitely be coming back again!
I had an incredible dining experience at this Xi’an noodle restaurant! The flavors were rich and authentic, with perfectly hand-pulled noodles that had the ideal texture—chewy and flavorful. The spice level was just right, and the broth was deeply satisfying. I especially loved the xi an Flour cold noodle, which were packed with bold and aromatic seasonings. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. It truly felt like a taste of Xi’an right here! If you’re looking for authentic Shaanxi cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
First China Restaurant
We came here for lunch on the job and the food is just right really good Chinese food especially for this area. Prices are reasonable for lunch
This is usually my go to Chinese restaurant when I am near Tryon rd. Today I ordered my usual and my chicken wigs looked and tasted like they have been fried and sat out and refried again in old grease. Yuck 🤮 SMH
Golden China Restaurant
Absolutely love love love this place, food is always fantastic and price reasonably. They are quick and so sweet remembering I always ask for hot oil! Great customer report
We eat vegetarian and I will say: I love this place! Some of the best tofu options. Also a very quick and efficient ordering/ pick up process. Great place to grab a bite.
Chengdu 7
The service is great! Greeted with a smile and attentive to our table. The food was amazing! I didn't have a fav dish because everything tasted great in its own way. Great portion sizes. The playlist added to the atmosphere with all the hits!
|Overview: + Authentic spicy Szechuan cuisine + Big bowl of beef noodle soup for affordable price + Fairly good customer service + Overall food quality is great - 91% Sanitation Score - Dull ambiance with old-looking seats and bad lighting - Amount of beef in noodle soup is little - Some appetizers like beef tripe are pricey |Full Review: My girl & I went here around 9PM, and our first impressions of Chengdu 7 weren't good. The 91% Sanitation Score was concerning; my girl asked if we were sure if we wanted to eat here. I told her that not a lot of restaurants were open after 9 so we decided to give it a shot. We were the only customers dining in, and a young waitress took us to our cheap-looking seats illuminated by dull fluorescent lights. Ambiance is clearly not ideal for a romantic date night. Chengdu 7's photo-filled menu offers authentic Chinese -Szechuan dishes, including a wide variety of beef at various spice levels. I ordered the $18+ Sizzling Steak in Hot Iron Plate, which came with strips of steak, bell peppers, scallions & white onions. It also came with a small cup of white rice. My order lived up to its name as it arrived sizzling on a hot iron plate. It tasted how I expected it to be: not spicy but tasty. Wish I had the option to get fried rice instead & amount of rice was not much (waitress did not offer to refill rice). Overall, it was good but not great. My girl ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, which was served in a large bowl. She was surprised to see the large amount for a $12+ bowl. It was much bigger than the $16+ bowl of beef noodle soup we got from Wheat in Chapel Hill just a few days ago. She said she wouldn't be able to finish it despite having to share with me so she asked for 2 smaller bowls for us because she knew that there'll be leftover for take out. A Chinese gentleman whom we assumed to be the owner came to help cut the long rice noodles with scissors, so my girl can transfer some of the contents of the soup to the smaller bowls. We were thankful for his caring customer service. The beef inside the noodle soup was well-cooked and tender but the amount of beef chunks was lacking; my girl wished it had less noodles and more beef. The broth was fine. Overall, not bad for $12+, which was about the same price as the beef tripe appetizer that we wanted to order but decided not to because of its price. Instead, we ordered a $12 Chili Oil Dumpling. The pork inside tasted amazing with the chili oil, and the texture of the dumplings was perfect. There's a good amount so we ended up taking out about 1/3 of it. Overall, I have mixed feelings about Chengdu 7. Despite the dull ambiance, low Grade "A" Sanitation Score, and some shortcomings in the food we ordered, it's still not a bad option if you enjoy authentic Szechuan cuisine at a semi-affordable price. Might return here to order for take out. | Overall Score: 3.9/5 | Recommended Alternative: Shanghai in Durham, NC
Meet Xi An
"Meet Xi An" newly opened up a month ago, although it's quick serve, the food is quite home made and very very authentiic and meticulously prepared! Though Both Chengdu and Xi An are in the Sichuan provence, Chengdu is very red pepper and hot oil forward, Xi An is not spicy (even the spicy option is not spicy), and the spices are more fragrant and delicate. The ingredients were very high quality and expertly prepared and they even have Rou Jia Mo (Chinese hamburger). The Dan Dan noodles were quite different from what I've had before, very garlic and spice forward, with intricate pastes and spice mashes, not alot of sauce, more of a dry style. All in all, this was very cute. Service is so so but they are super friendly and appreciative. I'll be back.
Checked out the newly opened (well, it’s been a little while) Meet Xi An near my place today. 1. Roujiamo (Chinese burger) – Recommended! Tastes good, with finely chopped lean and fatty pork that melts in your mouth. The downside is that it’s a bit oily (oil drips as you eat). 2. Century egg & lean pork congee – Average taste, and it contains shredded ginger. 3. Pork & corn steamed bun – Decent, just like homemade. 4. Pork & corn dumplings – My kid said they tasted good, but they didn’t match the picture on the menu. The menu showed dumplings in soup, but the actual dish came without soup. Overall, the food does seem as advertised—no noticeable additives, and I didn’t feel thirsty after eating, which is nice. It’s a fast-food setup, so no tipping is required; you pick up your own food and clear your tray. One complaint: They don’t offer free tap water, and bottled water costs $2. If you go, I’d recommend bringing your own!
Hong Kong No. 1
We ordered Szechuan Beef and it is so good! We enjoyed this delicious stir fry with buttery tender beef, spicy sauce and veggies. Szechuan peppercorns added a touch of sweetness.
My first time coming for lunch. Customer service was great! It was a clean environment. And my food was hot and fresh I ordered sesame chicken. The chicken was cooked perfect not too hard or chewy. I will be returning. Oh yea I started eating before I took the picture lol
Fang's kitchen
I’m sorry but this was not good at all. I’m from NYC and I know what good Chinese food is. Sorry I have eaten Chinese food all my life. I had Egg Foo Young and I thought fried rice. It was white rice with peas and carrots, not the original fried rice I’m use to. The food had no season to it. The egg foo young looked good but not seasoned at all. Picture of fried rice and egg foo young
Ordered Fang’s for my family. We were not disappointed as the portions were big and prices were fairly priced! Would recommend their new dishes: Honey Shrimp (1), Bang Bang Shrimp (2), Mongolian Chicken (3), and Bang Bang Shrimp (4). My favorite was the Bang Bang Shrimp as it was very tasty and creamy. Would definitely recommend!
New China Chinese Restaurant
Love this place. Very clean and safe. The staff and super nice and it is AFFORDABLE. Highly recommend if you are looking for some decent Chinese food for cheap. We love the crab Rangoons and the egg rolls. but everything we have had has been pretty good. Solid 8/10 on the food and a 10/10 on everything else :)
Best sesame chicken I’ve ever had. The meat was very moist and tender, and the sauce was delicious and plentiful! I also tried the crab rangoons and egg rolls, both of which were delicious. Good vegetarian options as well!
Asian Garden
Hello all, I have been a regular here for about a year now, I will say I have never ordered over the phone but every time I’ve dinned in it’s been a good experience. Some of the booths and stuff are a bit old but that’s okay the quality and quantity of food is well worth the price. If you’re ever hungry for Asian food this is the best -James
My girl got chicken wings with shrimp fried rice, I got the large chicken, Hibachi. Egg drop soup wasn’t for me, but the salad was tasty. Crab Rangoons were top tier. Definitely gained a new customer. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!!!
