Hop Shing
Egg rolls were crunchy and fresh. Would've liked more pork & onion in the pork fried rice. The pepper steak was tasty, best I've had here in Jacksonville.
I ordered the bbq rib combination plate and it was sorry. The ribs were chewy and covered in a really heavy sweet sauce and the fried rice was tasteless. I wondered if I had gotten Chinese, as the food was devoid of standard asian flavors. The pork fried rice had very little pork and tasted like wet instant grains. This is the worst Chinese food I've had in Jacksonville, and I will never darken their door again. Awful!
Jenni's Noodle House
I love this location. The staff are absolutely stellar (thank you, Roger and Tomas!) and the food is wonderful. I love the ease of parking and the nice patio. Will be a customer for life! Thank you also for being so nice to my older mom as well.
This place is nostalgic for me. I visited after a 5-year hiatus because I moved away from the area and travel a lot now. When I stepped into Jenni's Noodle, I was taken back to the times I would go there, pre-Covid, with my daughter. The atmosphere is so welcoming and soothing... the service is still excellent... and the food... is STILL AMAZING, FULL OF FLAVOR, AND FRESH! I introduced My Love and great friend of 32 years to the delicious flavors offered here. We couldn't decide on dessert, so we ordered all three cakes. 😋 our favorite is the carrot cake. One thing that stands out here is that the wait staff DO NOT interrupt conversation, and they DO NOT speak in your face. They keep a nice distance (approximately 36 inches from the table) and speak loudly enough to be heard. This is welcoming to us because my love is currently going through cancer treatments. We will be returning because this place has pulled me back in.🥰😋
Street Food Thai Market
Sunday 4/6/25: This mini mart and restaurant proved itself a delightful hidden gem! Earlier today, I called to inquire about BYOB - pro tip: if there’s no alcohol listed on the menu, it's possible they allow it. BYOB was permitted, so our group of seven arrived for dinner fully equipped with beers and Kirkland margaritas - a fantastic addition to our evening. Arriving early at 4:30pm, six of us snagged both limited parking spots and a large table without waiting - though the place was starting to fill up. I decided on the Khao Soi Kai, ordering it "mild." While the spice leaned more towards medium, it was perfect for my palate - an explosion of rich, vibrant, creamy flavors! My husband went for the "mild" Massaman curry with chicken, which was less spicy yet delectable. The only hiccups to an otherwise superb food experience was the service. The side rice for two of the curries was forgotten entirely, and one person’s fried rice dish never arrived until we reminded the staff. If you’re searching for an unassuming, BYOB-friendly gem packed with culinary treasures, it’s well worth exploring! 🤤🌟
The reviews for this place did not disappoint! It's an unassuming little spot with an extensive menu. The prices are very reasonable, the portion sizes are excellent, and the flavor was incredible! It was truly reminiscent of the street food that I had in Koh Samui! So very good! The staff was attentive and polite and there was plenty of seating for a lunch crowd. I will definitely be returning to try other items on the menu!
Wokker
The soya eggplant was tasty and definitely a highlight. The Pad Thai, however, didn’t look like the picture and tasted just okay. The fries were a little soggy, which was disappointing. Easy to find parking here and the self service restaurant was clean and quite spacious.
The service here is so friendly and accommodating. She literally offered to pick out the green onions in the fried rice if I wanted her to. (I didn't make her) I haven't had the food yet but I am very impressed already and will definitely be back just for the customer service.
Crawfish Cafe
I’ve had takeout from this place, and every time I'm blown away by the delicious flavors they deliver. Their expertise in blending spices truly shines through in every dish, adding just the right amount of heat and depth to the meal. The crawfish, in particular, was a standout—perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and seasoned to perfection. It's clear they know exactly how to balance spice and savor to enhance the natural taste of their ingredients. Every order leaves me thoroughly satisfied, and I always look forward to my next takeout experience!
Their crawish is great but the service is below mediocre. Upon walking in you can notice majority of unhappy individuals (employees that is, definitely Not the customers). I had a to-go order this time for pickup on curbside. Called the number and operator transferred me to the curbside, it rings once and goes to "call back again later". I called again and same thing happened. I went inside and over the course of 20 minutes i have told 3 different people that I'm trying to pick up a simple order of 4lb of crawfish. Every single one told me they would let me know. I stood in the same spot and watch them run around. Had to come up to the front desk to check and they even gave me attitude "when it's ready we'll call you". Then i noticed a few bags on the to-go rack, people came in and one bag was left. I came in again and said "maybe that's my order"? They asked for the last 4 digits of the phone number and gave it to me smiling. Clearly they never called me and never would have called me, either! I understand busy, but to give an attitude when you're clearly not capable of executing a simple "call you when it's ready" task, then do not not talk down to people! You can have the best food in town, but if you cant train your people or have an effective system that works you will only hurt your reputation!

I enjoyed my cocktails , appetizer and whole fish . However I felt this place was a tad over rated . Dishes can be a hit or miss , proportions are definitely on the small side . Service was not the best , I was definitely expecting better given the hype. Try the michelada and shrimp appetizer , branzino was good, stay away from the chicken dish . The decor needs improvement by the bar area . I feel like they spent more time decorating and seasoning the bathroom than the restaurant.
Fun Salvadoran and East Asian fusion restaurant in the Heights. We enjoyed sharing all of the dishes family style. One of the favorites, the chicken, was tender and crispy with a slight shrimp paste taste/aroma. All the sweet small plates were tasty too.
Cooking Girl
We’ve been waiting for this location to open and we were so excited to finally get to go! Absolutely nothing disappointed. The boiled dumplings were great, as was the sweet silk pork plate that we got. The staff was so hospitable too (,: We finished off with the tiramisu toast which was sooooo good and the perfect serving size. Love that you guys are so much closer to home! ❤️
This new restaurant in the heights is a must try! Food and atmosphere were great. My friend and I were lucky enough to meet the real ‘cooking girl’. Will definitely be back!
China One
Don't let the inside decor fool you or the surrounding neighborhood. This place is 100% on point!! I've never had a better Chinese lunch anywhere. Decent price and the food was HOTT and the portion was insane. So worth it, so fresh, just amazing. Had the L20. Highly recommend this place. This is now my go too!!
went 1 time for my lunch break. found actual metal shavings in my house lo mein. i started chewing on this piece of metal until i spit it out and was disgusted to eat anymore. dont want to know the type of cuts this metal would have done to my insides.
Camille Restaurant
AMAZING noodles!! (⁎⁍̴̛ᴗ⁍̴̛⁎)🍜❤️ I decided to rewrite the review with more details since I think this restaurant is wayyy too underrated! Although I gave most restaurant full stars as long as their staff are nice and the food are within average since I want to support them, this is one of the few restaurants I would actually revisit! The portion is great, and the price is relatively affordable compared to other restaurants. 😇 Their pork is braised and seasoned perfectly as well! 🍖 If you love asian noodle or cuisine, this is definitely a place for you! I think some people gave them low rating is bc of the limited payment option ⬇️ *they only take cash or venmo, but would provide you wifi for venmo if needed. But yes, their staff are nice! Don’t be trick by the rating and give it a try! You won't regret it ☺️ # Hong Shao Pork Noodle # Spicy Hotpot # Chicken leg Noodle # Spicy Beef Noodle Soup
Good amount of food for the price. You won’t see these prices anywhere else, especially around the Berkeley area. I ordered R1( chicken leg over rice), Taste is decent with a good kick to it. They provide cold and hot water on the house. Would return for a quick lunch.
China Wok
This is disgusting. 1st and last time here. I ordered general tso chicken, along with another dinner, and it’s just a frozen dinner sold at a restaurant. Nothing is made fresh. I don’t know how long ago it was made but it was dried up and hard. It’s supposed to be spicy. Nothing spicy about this dish. At least some spice would give it a taste! This is going straight in the trash.
My job LOVES their food. We cater our events with them and our order is ALWAYS ready ON TIME and it’s accurate. Friendly and helpful staff. Will continue ordering from here. Thank you so much
Ho-Ho Restaurant
My new fave Chinese restaurant! My order was ready for pick up on time and it was fresh and still hot. My order was also exactly as I asked for it! Not too expensive and the cashier was very nice. Food was great!! No complaints!
No tofu in my food at all!! I ordered veggies and tofu! Not sure how they got it wrong
Gourmet Kingdom
Worked at this place for a year, and coming back to visit every now and then. The food is phenomenal: perfect blend of salt, peppers and spices; you just need to know what to get, because some dishes might be too spicy for American taste. I got to know the chef personally, he is a true master of his craft. Definitely a great place for some wild Asian food!
I'm writing this review while sitting at a table, alone, in Gourmet Kingdom. It's noon on a Thursday, and I'm the only customer in the whole restaurant... That's a shame because the food is excellent, and I'm eating some of the best General Tso's Chicken I've ever had... I'll definitely be coming back. I just hope this place gets enough business to stay open. With food this good, the place should be packed!
