Ming Wok Li
Really delicious and the staff was super nice!
We found a green worm in our food. When I brought it back the lady fought with me because there was missing food. Which was in the plate I brought in to show them the worm. Also my child ate some before I found the worm. She yelled at me the entire time while I was speaking with the gentleman that was at the counter. She was rude, and didn’t want to refund me. I wasn’t going to post anything but after her behavior I felt compelled to share. We use to eat here all the time. We will never go back!!
Tomo
Tomo is my go to restaurant. Food is always so fresh, sushi and sashimi here are another level. They also have nice selections of sake and beers. I enjoy the cocktails too.
This is the best sushi in Saugerties! And one of the better ones in Ulster county. It gets five stars in comparison to options in the area. Obviously it would not be five stars if we were talking about NYC.
Sue's
The pizza was 4 out of 10. This pizza was a cheese pizza and it was like a sauce pizza, and the over all thickness felt like 6inch, horrible. Some slices were 40% cheese barely any cheese.
Great day celebrating Gene's 75th! Fred Costello and crew did a great job. Food and service all wonderful!! Thank you for making his day special!!
Miss Lucy's Kitchen
Went here expecting a casual mediocre diner food but we were quite blown away by the quality of it. Firstly, the fries were the perfect thickness; not too thin or thick, and super crispy. The pork sandwich and brisket were superb. The crispy brisket was very smoky and had a strong intense flavour which went well with how crispy and a little fatty it was and the burger meet was super smoky and flavourful. Although could have more saucez Service was a bit slow at times but highly highly reccommend this place for a meaningful meal.
My husband and I have eaten here a few times on different days and different times and it’s always been extremely delicious and top tier service. One thing we consistently have ordered are the Brussel sprouts which are so delicious! Their cocktails are also very good as well. My only recommendation is make a reservation especially on the weekend because they are very popular.
Lox of Bagels
We always visit Lox of Bagels when we travel to New York. The bagels are HUGE and yummy. They slather on the cream cheese. I love the breakfast bagel sandwiches. Everything is so fresh. Service is friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is rustic. Eating outside is nice too.
We just had a brunch catered by Lox of bagels after my daughter’s wedding. The food was delicious! The setup and presentation was flawless. We were blown away by the quality and service from Lox of Bagels. Also big shout out to Bagel Barb…you were a pleasure to work with! Much thanks
Namaste Indian Restaurant
During the Plague of 2020, hungry for take-out Indian food, my partner and I walked in and out of Namaste. Big mistake. Sitting down at this same restaurant off a nondescript stretch of 9W a week ago, I knew—with its no-nonsense server, and its walls painted deep papaya orange, that the meal was going to be great. Even now my mouth waters in memory of this taste experience. Within minutes of placing our order, the dining area’s air was filled with smells from the kitchen. Something real was happening. The sensual complexity of Indian food, whose multitudinous scents I’ll awkwardly describe as bristling, sweet, unguenty, thorny, puckery, and the like, were upon us. And once the dishes came, unlike the smell, say of peanut butter being superior to its actual taste, the flavors of our dishes were dazzling. Rich and creamy, the Shahi Lamb Korma was tender and plentiful. The Aloo Gobhi Mas, a gustatory complement. I more than once asked my partner not to talk and closed my eyes while feeling the food. The Palak Paneer, decent. The Garlic naan, perfectly chewy and sprinkled with coriander, the latter being a real sign of a caring chef. It's also worth mentioning that the server gave us options over how spicy we wanted our food prepared. We were so happy with our meal that we overate, the way sometimes at an amusement park I have—out of delight—ridden one topsy-turvy ride too many, and made myself, as a consequence, a bit sick. Mind you, there is little that is showy about this joint. It’s not for the bougie folk who fancy themselves upper class but derive their sense of this from their phones. The bathroom could use refreshing and a carpenter’s touch. The large flat screen, which I requested be turned off, is a nuisance. But the overall experience of this establishment is non pareil. When I attempted to express my dining pleasure to a man who had emerged from the kitchen, my English was not understood. But I persisted and after passing my wish to another quite affable server to extend my compliments to the unseen chef, she was thanked with an on the house mango lassie. A bustling take-out business seems to be central to the restaurant’s success. Should we beset by another plague, I know exactly where to go. Total outlay: 60 dollars
The food was pretty good, but the place appeared dirty. The bathroom was dirty with no soap left, and there was food on the wall at our table.
Szechuan King
The worst Chinese restaurant I've been to. We were driving around Saugerties, NY yesterday and stopped by downtown to find a good place to have lunch. We parked when we saw the sign SzeChuan King and I went inside ahead of my companions. I was shocked by the manner the manager or owner greeted me. The middle aged guy was literally shouting at me and talking to me in a very condescending and disrespectful tone. I wanted to leave immediately but then my 2 companions also entered the place so I stayed. When we three were already seated, he continued the same shouting at us in a very loud voice and aggressive manner. We patiently took it all in as we were hungry and needed to eat before we could proceed on our road trip. He put the food on the counter and yelled it's ready, without even courteously trying to bring it to our table. The place wasn't busy at all, we three were the only customers seated on a corner table. While eating my companions were similarly expressing how rude and aggressive the guy was. They even used the word "harassed" to describe how guy was treating us. I am wondering how the town of Saugerties has even allowed this SzeChuan King restaurant to operate. The guy has cast a very bad impression of the town. He and his SzeChuan King restaurant has no place in a business district of a small town. He should be required to treat customers with respect and courtesy before he is allowed to operate the business. We all left feeling bad with very negative impression.
Been getting food from Szechuan for over 25 years! Not only are the owners the nicest people, their food is as awesome as they are! Quality, fresh ingredients, and the portions are big! We call their chicken noodle soup “the magic soup” in my family because whenever one of us get sick, it is the best for recovery! My sister used to go so frequently for lunch that the one day she stopped in for something small and didn’t have cash on her like usual, Kit said not to worry about it and to get them next time. It happened to be the week she left for college. She came back on holiday and stopped in to pay her bill and grab some food and they laughed and said, “Where’ve you been!?”. We have a lot of family that live here and so when our grandparents call to order food and one of the grandchildren picks up, they’ll ask which Mulligan we belong to, lol. Truly one of the best additions to our small town Saugerties! Keep it local!
Dragon City
Try this place for the first time and ordered the combo of boneless ribs and fried rice with an egg roll. I thought the price was reasonable and it was really good! The eggroll wasn't good at all, but other than that i was happy I tried here and definitly will again!
The food is excellent: clean flavors, well seasoned, and not too greasy. But this is strictly a takeout place. The atmosphere is almost comically grim. My new top choice for Chinese takeout. Definitely worth a try!
China Wok
Dirty. Food is TERRIBLE
One of the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever experienced. Everything was overcooked , over greasy and simply inedible . Most of our order ended up in the garbage. .
