East Garden Chinese Restaurant
Only order from here because it had 5 stars ever one who rated this five star don’t have taste buds. I ordered orange chicken it was cold and it was general Tosh with orange peals. Order shrimp egg foo young and the gravy was tan not brown the shrimp fried rice with regular fired rice with medium well cooked shrimp on top of old fried rice. The shrimp and broccoli in garlic sauce was watery I would have gave it 3 stars if my food wasn’t cold. My orange chicken is general tosh flavor with over cooked orange peals not orange flavor shrimp roll only had one shrimp chicken wings was just ok
I have tried this restaurant over and over because of how close it is to me but I think I am finally done. Their food is so inconsistent. One time I will get something and it will be really good and the next time I will get the same thing again and it will be terrible. The most recent thing I tried was the boneless spare ribs and pork fried rice. The boneless spare ribs were absolutely disgusting . They were soggy and I can’t even put the taste of them into words. They had a very odd taste, they were not sweet and just tasted so different from all the Chinese restaurants I ever tried. I literally threw the boneless spare ribs out. The pork fried rice was good.
China King
Im so upset because this the only Chinese store i order from…recently i ordered fried vegetable dumplings, spring rolls and fried rice … i don't know if they are rebranding but literally everything was different and tasted bland …the dumplings didn't taste good at all and those are my goto so I'm upset about that its not even the same recipe or dough and I'm turned off …the spring roll was the same literally just cabbage and carrots no flavor the rice was a little burnt ….I'm so sad but ill have to stop buying from them now that the recipe is different smh so disappointed i referred so many people because i love the dumplings but now ill have to let yall go
owner and owner’s son are very rude. They were mad I asked for some more duck sauce for my food and refused to give me another two packets. just bad attitudes and money hungry management. The cleanliness of the place is also questionable. Have not been back since and will not. pretty sure they are racists as well
PEKING HOUSE
I don’t understand the negative reviews. I live in The Pleasantdale section of WO and for 40 years I’ve tried every Chinese restaurant between WO and Verona. Over the previous years all of my “go to” places have been stinking it up. Small portions, less flavor and egg rolls have become a joke. Peking House has nailed it. Egg rolls are old school large, steamed dumplings are fantastic, general Tao chicken, egg foo young, and house special Lo mein packed with flavor and large portions. Great food I’ll definitely order from here again.
This was my first time here and I was pleasantly surprised! My food was tasty and fresh, needed more sauce but I’ll ask for extra next time. The place is clean and bright, service is friendly, you can tell they take pride in their business. I’ll back!
No. 1
It was Delicious EXCEPT for ONE thing... The Garlic Sauce Was To SPICY For Me. Hard for me to fully enjoy.
Burnt Ribs!! I specifically ask for the ribs to NOT be burned. I called and the response was, that’s what happens with the BBQ sauce. Ok, so then this is not the spot for me.
New Bill & Harry Chinese Cuisine
Phenomenal takeout place, food is great with good vegetarian options. The storefront is pretty modest, but don't let appearances deceive you! Parking is rough, but not bad if you double park and have a friend to run in. Pictured: fried veggie dumplings, scallion pancake, cold sesame noodles, stir fried green beans, and General Tso bean curd.
Small place. Great food!! Awesome service! First time here and a little angry I’ve been missing this! Food hot and ready! Fresh! Full of flavor! Nice portions! Affordable. Recommend all! This isn’t a paid #ad review. Don’t miss this sweet little place!
Lotus Oriental Cuisine
This is now strictly a take-out place. They've set it up so that you only get your food at the entrance and can't get a seat even if you wanted to. However, the portions are generous for a reasonable price and they give lots of little extras
As a frequent customer of this eatery, I urge everyone to try them at least once. They have all the usual fare, and it's done wonderfully. Definitely one of my top 5 Chinese food places. If you're into duck, they have it and it's amazing. Also, the Mongolian beef and the Singapore Mai Fun will have you coming back for more.
Main Moon Chinese Restaurant
Great place to order from, while they are expensive, which could be said about everyplace rn, it's a better chinese restaurant than Number 1, keep up the good work but maybe clean up the interior a little bit.
Very peaceful place. Quick service always. Fishes are cute for the kids to look at. 10/10 I will buy from here again. Thank you. God bless
Pepe's BBQ
I was referred to this place by one of my brothers who lives in West Orange, NJ and he was 1000% correct!! I walked in Friday evening and had the 1/2 rotisserie chicken, rice & black beans, plantain (tostones), and a slice of red velvet cake. Compliments to the chef or chefs as the food was that memorable that I went back the next morning when they opened up and treated my brother and I to Saturday brunch. The seasoning and juiciness of the chicken was phenomenal, white rice and black beans was hot and mixed together incredibly and the plantains were excellently cooked. The slice of red velvet cake was so soft and whomever baked it deserves to be on TV in a baking competition! Seriously!!! There are times when something happens once and you can say, "Okay, wow - this was good!" To have a repeat of the delicious food and awesome customer service from the employee behind the counter, let's you know the business is built on satisfaction! (I wish I had gotten the name of the guy who took my order both times because he was totally professional and exuded such a chill vibe)! Told my wife and daughter, when we come back to NJ, we are going to Pepe's BBQ!!!!!
The food is amazing and reasonably priced! It is not traditional bbq but great flavors and not too smoky either. We recommend the green sauce it's really good. The lg rice is a good size and feeds 4 grown men that eat a lot! Definitely will order again and again
Sun Wah Kitchen
Tried ordering delivery and the lady kept hanging up on me . When she finally took my ordered she said they will not deliver my food if i don’t tip. I told them i will tip in cash and they said they are not doing that and hung up the phone . I called back and said i will tip $5 and then said that was not enough and hang up again. Absolutely terrible customer service
My family has been eating from the Sun Wah kitchen for well over 20 years. We're no longer eating from there because the food was awful on our recent pickup order. Additionally, no sauce packets were included. The egg drop wonton soup was ok, but there was a very small amount of soup with an excessive amount of wontons. The pupu platter's meat sticks were dry, the fried shrimp was more breading than shrimp, and there was some sort of flat wonton with a tiny amount of something resembling cream cheese in the middle. The spring rolls were greasy and tastely. The 2 chicken wings were inedible. The Lo Mein barely had any meat in it and was bland and unseasoned... And without sauce packets we couldn't try to season it more ourselves. The "Seafood delight" was hardly as delight, it was mostly mushy imitation crab, with 1 small piece of lobster, some shrimp and a few rubbery scallops. The flavor was okay in the sauce. My mom called to complain about the food as we (were) a long-time customer, thinking maybe it was a new cook. She spoke to someone that said that they were the owner, who she wanted to bring the food back to either have it replaced or refunded for the uneaten amounts. He offered to give us a little more soup broth was the only recourse offered. We thought we were accidentally disconnected, but it turns out she was hung up on by the owner, when we called back and he said no he hung up. A very disappointing meal and experience for a family of long term customers.
