My wife and I are on the #eatjersey challenge to have a meal in all 564 towns of NJ. We chose The Hopatcong Diner for Hopatcong, our 128th town. Dessert is a meal, and that's what we had here at the diner! Jersey diners are known for their large dessert cases with oversized cakes and all sorts of delicious pastries. We enjoyed some coffee & tea along with Apple Pie w/vanilla ice cream and a piece of Flan.

I’ve come here a few times. Each time, it has caused me issues, sometimes even food poisoning. I eat here because it is convenient. However, I ate here twice this week. And both times I ended up getting sick because of the food. I will admit the service is okay, but more 50/50 than anything. This is not the first time I have reacted badly to their food, however twice in one week is, at this point, crossing a line. Clearly I cannot trust the food to be good quality. Honestly would not recommend.

Great service and absolutely delicious food here. I ended up getting 2 appetizers (both were phenomenal) as well as the scallop avocado roll, NYC Naruto roll, 7 Seas Roll, and the Angel roll. Each was lovely, rolls were very unique and I'd definitely come back to experience more of their menu.

Visiting a good friend who suggested Asian Island . We went on a Thursday evening … 4 ppl at 6pm. The table was comfortable… small dining room but clean . Our servers were very polite . We had 3 appetizers.. the sushi pizza, the sushi cake and shrimp dumplings. Dinner 3 rolls and noodles The fish was exceptionally fresh .. presentation was pretty We all had a nice time … I observed the restaurant does a lot of carry out food …. Worth visiting if you are in Sparta … I would go back …. Please note this is a BYO

Fair prices, very large potions! All the dishes we have ordered over time have been extremely tasty! The owners are consistently nice and very caring! Hing Wang is our go to place when we want really good comfort food! Ken and Janet

While the atmosphere at Hung Wang is just okay, don't let the appearance fool you—the food is much better than the place suggests. As a takeout-only spot recommended by a local hotel during my business stay, I tried the General Tso’s Chicken, an egg roll, and fried chicken wings. The food was not only hot but also exceeded expectations with generous portions. The plump chicken pieces and ample sauce made the meal truly enjoyable. I would recommend dining here, and I certainly plan to eat there again.

The General Tso’s chicken is fresh and crispy. The hot and sour soup is delicious. Very happy with my order. The free parking is in the back of the shop and you have to drive around the new condo/apartment building.

I go to Newton temporarily for work twice a week. I got excited when I saw their sign of bubble tea because the last time I had bubble tea was in FL like 12 yrs ago. Its not common to see places selling bubble teas in Jersey from what I know off. So I finanlly was able to have bubble tea again! They hav a few different flavors of bubble tea, and smoothies. My favorite is the passion fruit smoothie! They have median size and small size but the small size is perfect for me and prices are within budget. They accept debit cards with no limit, and have free parking in the back. (u hav to go through the driveway on the left of the dinner, which is right nxt to them). They have tables if u want to eat there. Its always clean when I go in there. Service is fast and employees are nice. To be honest, I havent eaten their chinese food yet, but I got for my bubble tea and smooties!

I don't know what has happened at China Garden. I only see 1 person working there that I recognized, the little guy at front counter always so sweet. In the last 7-8 moths the food has not been the best, compared to prior years. I notice they have 5 cook now, 1 woman that is the rulest person I have ever dealt with. Prior, there was 2 cooks and sometimes a extra person helping out! And, the food was excellent! My order was always right, and they always threw in almond cookies & some dumbling w/cream cheese i think, but good. Now, with 7 people working, the food we purchased we couldn't even eat. Especially my Roast Pork w/snow peas and was suppose to have extra gravysauce and some broccoli. The fried rice tasted old, almost a burnt taste or old oil. The pork dish was bland no seasoning, no broccoli. The egg roll same, and tuff like rubber. Then I found a piece of plastic off some packaging cooked into my food. My daughter ordered sesame seed chicken with pork fried rice which was bland no seasoning, and her pork fried rice she said tasted sour. Her fried rice and mine were totally 2 different colors, herbs was light in cor, where mine was dark in color. The lady in called the order into screwed up the order completely, wouldn't let me explain what we all wanted, she was rushing me, when I started w/my order, it ordered 2 shrimp eggs rolls, she goes 10 mins. I said I was not finished with my order. Everytime I went to order, she say 10 mins. She left food off from a previous order the week before. She left off my daughter's order, plus the extra egg rolls we ordered and that came w/meal. Worse dinner of my life. I called today, to ask to speak with a manager or Owner. Not in, and hung up on me. We put all the food back in bag, put in frig to take back to them for refund!!! And, really, w/the exception of the little guy, that works up front who did try to fix order. And, the woman was yelling at him, but he yelled right back. Doesn't even deserve 1 star on this reveiw. I will never go back there again to get my Chinese food. That woman, to me is bringing that restaurant down, she acts like she knows what's she is doing, but doesn't. The little guy had to keep going behind her fixing orders correctly. It's a shame, bc the food was so, so, good before, kitchen ran smooth, no problems. Now, total chaos. Owner needs to.clean house before he loses all his business. Bonnie Anderson

I the area and just looking for a quick snack I looked at the place on google maps and they want me to download a godforsaken app…that’s not gonna happen so I’m looking at photos for a copy of the menu and the only ones were fuzzy…so I’m hoping my new photos help. They answer phone and take order without issue. All we got was a large Hot n Sour soup $4.95 and two orders of Roast Pork Egg Roll $1.75 each. You sure can’t beat the price and when she likes the roll, I thought they’re overwhelmingly cabbage and while I can see specks of pork, I’m not so wild about that flavor. The soup was worse as we both thought it single dimensional lacking depth, it had plenty of sour (we sometimes have to add a bit of vinegar to an otherwise good soup) but this one did nothing to make us interested in finishing a bowl. Yeah I know some folks love this spot. It is certainly important for success to appeal to the lowest common denominator and we observe many locals aren’t familiar with authentic cuisine.

This place is phenomenal had this food while I was bowling and it was amazing. Not to salty. And not to spicy this place is amazing. New regular thank you for your food. So pleased ***** Update! This place is so good came back again and owner was very nice and recognized me. Very happy with this place. Food is very good. For its price. This is my 4th time coming here. Would like to play some board games for lunch!

This was our first time here. I looked at local places before picking a restaurant, and the reviews were all positive, but don't do it justice! I reserved a table for 5 at 730p. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by name due to the reservation, which immediately made us feel like we'd been there many times before. Our waitress was amazing, and the food was out of this world delicious! I have never felt the need to want to thank the chef, but at this restaurant, we simply couldn't leave without telling them how great the whole experience was. We will be back! Also, it does share space with the bowling alley, but you can't hear anything except when people opened the door leading to the bowling alley.

Came out here for dinner tonight with my wife, surprisingly best sushi I have had in Sussex/Morris so far. Food: we ordered smoked salmon sushi and spring rolls for appetizer which was really good! The red rose, king, and out of control rolls that we ordered were so good and flavorful, plus accentuated by their sauce pairings or distinct taste by the choice of fish. Service: the young ladies helping us were very nice and constantly checked in if we needed anything. Aesthetic: standard sushi restaurant, has about 10-12 tables.

I'm a bit of a sushi snob coming from NYC where there are many excellent authentic Japanese cuisine establishments. I often get turned off when I go to Japanese restaurants, and I hear Chinese being spoken from the staff. There was even a sushi restaurant in Ridgewood, NJ, that went as far as to play Chinese music. I thought "what desecration"! Then, when the food isn't well prepared and not representative of the Japanese, it's such a disservice and embarrassment to both cultures. Well, Sushi Ya is run by Chinese staff. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the sashimi. It was fresh, tasty, and melted in my mouth. The presentation is decent. It would have been better if the wasabi was freshly grated and not the prepackaged concentrated kind. The accompanying salad and miso soup were simple and basic. I haven't tried the sushi with the rice nor the cooked foods. Either way, I applaud them for doing justice to the cuisine, at least with the freshness. Yes, I would definitely come back if I'm in the area again.

UPDATE: No sit down service - carryout only. Call & order ahead and go on inside to pickup your order. Don't forget to choose your condiment & soup crunchies of choice available on the side. Same great food, car service is over. Their Wonton soup is MAGIC! ----------- China Express & Concierge Service We've been searching for the best (and closest) Chinese food to be had around here and I think we've found it! We had a wonderful meal from China Express last week and the pickup experience felt like a concierge! Call ahead, order your meal from the friendly & solicitous staff (asked about green onions and veggie preferences - we said we like them ALL) describe your vehicle, drive up to the restaurant - park - no need to even get out because they will hand deliver the order to your passenger side window, running your credit card right there curbside! Magic! The food was yummy! We really enjoyed the sesame shrimp, chicken with cashews, cold sesame noodle, Szechuan wontons, pot stickers and of course - wonton soup. All packaged beautifully with all the expected accoutrements (or as my Dad calls them - cooter-mints) from the hot muster and duck sauces, chopsticks, fried crunchy wontons, to the fortune cookies - everything was delicious and top notch. The vegetables were especially well prepared - crunchy & tender crisp! Some people swear by matzo ball soup for when you're not feeling 100% and I bow in respect - but my go-to is Wonton soup. Nothing quite like it! Yum. Well done, China Express you have a new fangirl & family!

The food at this restaurant is delicious. Any negative reviews are just petty people; the steamed pork dumplings are amazing, the general tso’s chicken is the best I’ve had in years and I didn’t even get to try the wonton soup yet because I ate all that because it was so good I couldn’t stop. I had ordered planning for leftovers, but nope - food was just that good! Thank you!!
