Bamboo Inn
This place is just amazing i would go here as a kid and 20 years later I returned everything was still amazing it doesn’t get any better the food and atmosphere is authentic and the prices you just can’t beat you get your moneys worth and you’ll walk out without regrets don’t let the chain link fence places by the city discourage you it’s easy access just walk in the place is cash only so bring cash if not there’s a atm down the block at a check cash place
The food is authentic Cantonese Chinese food. It’s freshly made to order. The flavor is scrumptious. My Mom and Dad went there before I was even conceived. Now Iv taken my family. The decor has never changed nor been upgrade or kept up. Visually it’s unpleasing and very tight space. It’s a hole in the wall. If you only care about the food then definitely come here.
ABC Express
We used to come here all the time to order shrimp fried rice no peas and no carrots. They were always so sweet and the food was always good. We returned for the first time since moving out of LA several years ago and once we placed the order the lady remembered us. It was as good as I remembered and it’s a great value restaurant. Location isn’t fancy but inside the staff is great and the food is good, inexpensive and offered with a smile.
Friendly service, food is delicious, and fast service, I like getting their soup and the new orange chicken and jalapeño chicken, yummy!!!
Hunan Gourmet
I would not recommend this to anyone. I should have known when you couldn't eat inside and the fish tank was nasty looking. I don't know what the meat was in the lemon chicken. I have never had bad Kung pow chicken until last night. The entire meal for my family was awful. I do not recommend to anyone.
I order from here relatively often. The vegetarian options are great and plentiful. Today's meal was fantastic! Whoever is in the kitchen tonight is my favorite ❤️ Delivery is prompt and friendly too!
Northern Cafe DTLA
If you’re craving Chinese food in downtown Los Angeles, this is a spot you won’t want to miss! The portions are generous—perfect for sharing—so you definitely get great value for your meal. We ordered the orange chicken and beef fried rice, and both were absolutely delicious. One thing we truly appreciated was the relaxed atmosphere. There was no rush to clear our table after we finished eating, allowing us to sit and enjoy our time without feeling pressured to leave. Our server, Hazel, was fantastic—attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed. For excellent food, generous portions, and great service, this place is definitely worth a visit!
2/22/2025 - Northern Cafe DTLA joined the chain Chinese restaurant of Dumpling House and had a grand opening at the heart of the downtown Los Angeles on 09/21/2024. Across the street is Macy's Plaza that will be scheduled to be closed in 2025. The first Northern Cafe was opened in Arcadia, CA in 2004. The price of many dishes is very reasonable, for example, a set of five Crab Meat or Pork Soup Dumplings (Xiao Long Bao, 蟹粉小笼包) is only $6.50 in weekend in comparison to other places at $10.95 we visited two weeks ago. We admire the owner, Cynthia, to open the first authentic Chinese restaurant in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. We enjoyed every dish. The tea drinks are okay because all drinks are pre-made but Boba is excellent with soft and elastic nature.
ABC Chinese Fast Food
First and foremost this is located in what we Angelinos call bad places "ghetto", but I have never had issues here. If you're cool and kind with the people in this vicinity you will be fine. I come here when I get bored of the Chinese food in the San Fernando Valley. They also recently re-opened the dining area since the last time I visited which was closed off in March 2020. I took photos of said dining area. Unfortunately I forgot to get photos of the food after this visit but I will add them at a later date after the next visit. The food is a 4 star to me while everything else is a 3 star. This is one of those joints that overflows your to go plate. I recommend the chow mein and orange chicken. Due to the inflation the prices have gone up once a year in the last 3 years or so. I believe I got 4 combo A or B's, but it is $11 each for chow mein/rice and 2 entree's. They also do not charge CA sales tax. 🥡
Found this place on google maps, wanted some Chinese food. Overall the food is good, the price was fine, and the portion was enough to save some for the next day. Only thing is they didn’t have many menu items available. Based on reviews and pictures I thought I’d be able to get some beef broccoli or fried shrimp. Neither was available, was told beef broccoli is only available on Monday (strange?) and that they had no fried shrimp. Only other items I could see were mushroom chicken, spring rolls, some bone in chicken pieces, and orange chicken. Went with the orange chicken and as I’ve said the food was good with a plentiful portion. More menu options would help.
Hunan Wok
this used to be THEE neighborhood chinese spot for YEARS. after the original owners left, things changed. i dont visit here often, but my family does. They used to have the best chicken wings! egg fu young is also good
My experience is usually positive however a staple was found in my food. Be on the lookout when ordering as this is very dangerous!
Pei Wei Asian Kitchen
On Friday, April 19th, 2025, I purchased orange chicken and fried rice. Several hours later, I experienced severe digestive distress. Subsequent consumption that evening resulted in a recurrence of these symptoms. I ultimately discarded the remaining food. Furthermore, while awaiting my order at approximately 12:00 PM, an individual entered the establishment from the street, carrying a large bag and proceeded to rummage through the condiment packets at the service counter. I was the sole customer present, and no employee intervened. This individual's handling of the condiment packets raises serious concerns regarding food safety and hygiene protocols. I am deeply concerned about the potential for foodborne illness and the apparent lack of attention to hygiene standards.
Jesus the cashier was nice and very polite and provided me excellent customer service. Left review for the free donuts but also for his polite knowledge service
Lotus Garden Restaurant
We ate there once a couple years ago.I ordered the orange. Chicken and several chunks were chunks of gristle. So 4 or 5 chucks of my orange chicken was gristle. You'd think the cook could tell the difference. Haven't been back. 😵
Not a huge buffet but a very good one. The Springfield style cashew chicken is very very good as well as the general. Egg drop soup is very good and not too salty like some places. Consistently decent food. I always come back.
