Mason Jar Family Restaurant and Bar
Live music, cozy vibes, and BBQ. Everything about this place screams family and friends! I love the colors and the warmth this place provided and how I genuinely felt welcomed by the hostess. The service was fast, until it wasn't. We sat and were immediately greeted by our waiter who took our drink order (2 waters) and order of Mozerella Triangles. A different server dropped them off. A few minutes later the second waiter dropped them off again. Once we were done a bus boy almost immediately took the empty plate. We sat for a while waiting for our our entrees and continued our conversation until he arrived. We ordered and waited for a while. Once we received our meals at 5:45, it didn't take us long to finish. We waited for our server to return but we didn't see him for almost 30 minutes. We thought about ordering dessert but instead, we opted to just go home. It was unfortunate as we were very excited to try the Apple Crips but we needed to leave. We enjoyed every bite and felt the corm bread could use some butter, but the service made our visit a little annoying. The live music and the songs they were playing (mostly early 2000s to late 90s music) made the vibes really shine! Just wish we had a more attentive waiter.
The barbecue food was so good, and there was such a variety of foods that all looked and sounded delicious. I got the pulled pork with Mac and cheese, sweet potato tots, and cornbread. I was so excited that I could get 3 sides with my meal!
Yuki Japanese Restaurant
We came here and had the lunch specials which were excellent. The sushi was very fresh and the service was quick. The hibachi and unagi don were very good. The tempura ice cream was a nice treat and only five dollars (they also separated the chocolate sauce upon request).
We ordered take out. 40 minutes after ordering we went to pick it up. The service was awful. There was no one at the front area, and we weren't acknowledged by any of the servers when we came in. After a few minutes of waiting we were helped, but the food wasn't ready. The server had the nerve to blame the sushi chefs, when in fact our order had been taken by a delivery driver by accident. If I hadn't pressed him about it, he wouldn't have bothered to ask in the back and figure out the mistake. We ended up waiting 30 minutes at the restaurant. When we finally got home with the food, it's mediocre at best. The regular sushi was ok, but the tempura sushi was soggy. The sesame tofu was awful, way too sweet, and somehow hollow. I will say that the dumplings were quite good, but they're definitely store bought.
Portobello
We recently celebrated our son’s baptism at Portobello restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious and the restaurant itself is so beautiful, gives it that Italy feel ❤️. Marcello truly goes above and beyond to make sure his guests are happy, and it shows in every aspect of the restaurant. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to celebrate such an important day!
They had excellent portion sizes. I think nearly everyone finished their plate, but no one was lacking for more food. The staff was accommodating and friendly. Plenty of options for those with dietary restrictions. Super easy to make a reservation. Thank you to the staff there for a stress free event. We showed up and it was setup and perfect. We had a great time.
Oakland Chinese
First ever review, my job decided to order lunch from this restaurant. So this was not out of my pocket. I ordered chow mein chicken and this is what I got, looks to be stripped onions, celery and chicken
We order here often on Friday’s from work. Ridiculously rude delivery driver, didn’t even get out of the car. Refused to make change for his tip and stated “This isn’t a pizza place”. I was under the impression that all delivery drivers provided change, not just pizza delivery drivers. Between the smell of smoke on my food from the chain smoking driver and the owner’s willingness to defend her rude empty, this will certainly be our last time ordering! ***after trying the white rice, to say I am disgusted is an understatement. How do you mess up white rice?!? It’s basically mush shaped as rice!!! Ewww!!! ***
