Dosa Grill
The food was amazing! Specially loved the gunpowder dosa and masala chai. Took 1 star off because I didn't quite like the sambar that tasted like simple daal mostly. We ordered: 1. Gunpowder dosa 2. Chilly Onion Masala Dosa 3. Mix bajji (Pakoras) 4. Masala chai
I now have to add Dosas to my lunch/dinner rotation. All of my South Indian former classmates and colleagues have been holding out on me and never told me about Dosas. Went in this place completely open minded without any expectations about Dosas. Has their top end Mumbai Street Dosa filed w potatoes and veggies and accompanied by some Chutneys and a dipping curry. Beats the usual occasional routine of a vegetarian gyro/wrap/taco/burrito. Nice crispy exterior ultra thin crepe exterior contrasted by the curry infused veggies inside. Glad I went in open minded to try something new since I have never travelled in my life to South Asia.
Hunan Garden Chinese Kitchen
I ate here for the first time today. I ordered the General Tso chicken combo and it was…well like that turkey on Christmas Vacation. Looked great on the outside but inside it was totally dried out. Like hollowed out, like nothing that even resembled chicken dried out. I was so hopeful because this restaurant is close to my home. Maybe this was a one off. I sure hope so. Since writing this review 3 weeks ago I’ve spoken to a few people who have also eaten here and my experience was not a one off. Apparently, this restaurant has been serving below par food for years. Not sure how they stay in business. Avoid at all costs.
Great food...don't let the store fool you. Orders are always accurate. Food is very good and always hot. This is the closest to Philly Chinese food that you'll find in south jersey. They accommodate dietary requests.
Chickie's & Pete's
Great sports bar/restaurant. Pricing is very good for chicken sandwiches and burgers. Their famous crab fries have seasoning, but are extremely salty + American cheese sauce. Keep your drinks nearby. Service is usually very good here.
Had a burger with a crab cake on it. I wasn't sure about that combo, but they paired well. Would recommend this burger to anyone who likes burgers and crabcakes. I will definitely get again. The fries were good, not sure as good as hyped but good.
South Wah Chinese Restaurant
Ordered the lunch special to go. Generous portions and pretty tasty. Was not a fan of the pork fried rice, but it was accidentally added instead of the white rice I asked for. No big deal, mistakes happen. Seems like a great family that runs the restaurant. Will be back next time I’m in the area.
This food is so nasty I just got chicken rice with wings all this rice born
Asian House Restaurant
My favorite local Asian / sushi place can’t believe I’ve lived here for years and didn’t even know this place was around. I used to really like Jade’s Island, but this beats anything I’ve had from there. I especially love the General Tso’s it’s always a classic and while it does not have sesame seeds on top the chicken is so fresh and the sauce is so flavorful. Friend liked their pork dumplings. Also love the miso soup, can never go wrong there, and the Romantic Roll was another good pick :-) I plan on coming back soon and will try more sushi
The best Mongolian beef that I’ve ever tasted! I will be back. Edited to add: Because I’ll be in this area every week, we decided to make this our date night and try as many things on the menu that we can. 01/30/2024 I had the beef lo mein. My husband had chicken and broccoli. So fresh and tasty!!! We’re already excited to decide what we’re having next. 02/26/2024 Pepper steak and onions (insert chef’s kiss here). And the staff continues to be friendly and professional.
Arusuvai Chettinad Indian Restaurant
What a gem! This place not only rocks in the usual Indian food items, but they have niche items which are very tasty and authentic. We had Chettinad mutton Biryani made with Seeraga Samba rice. Oh boy, that was amazing. Not a lot of places make this niche biryani with seeraga samba rice so this was a great find. My mouth waters thinking about it. We also had aatukal soup which was again very tasty and authentic. The chettinad podi dosa was fantastic. The chutneys and the sambar were tasty. A big shout out to our waiter Vinesh who was conversational, friendly, and provided great service!
Went on a weekend to try their thalis. We got the veg and non-veg thalis. The veg items were very good...esp the south Indian ones. The non veg thali could have done a little better. I understand the idea is to cater to all palates...Southies, Northies, Americans etc.. but a couple of items didn't really belong there...butter chicken for example. Dry items were ok...the vinegar from the sauce was a bit overwhelming. I would have liked chicken 65, fried fish etc. Unfortunately they did not excite my taste buds. Now the best parts...sambar, chicken curry, payasam, pickles, rasam, samba chicken pulav ( LOVED THE FLAVORS). I want to mention the fish curry separately..coz it was thr first time I was tasting that dish and an absolute treat...Good job there!! The buttermilk..though an underrated player...it was perfectly spiced.
Khasiyat
Good place to have some indian food and try different stuffed parathas they offer, atleast they have around 80 types of parathas. We tried Jalapeno with Mint one its awesome. We also tried chole bhatura one of the best places to have chole bhatura, Masala pav is full of indian flavors
The make your own paratha with 5 toppings which is a great idea. You get the basic north indian and south indian food. You can also get a platter with roti n veggies. The food is excellent and i suggest you mix n match food to get a the flavor of the foods.
Kochi Indian Cuisine
Amazing food. Excellent taste. Most authentic Kerala food I have ever had. Must try it.
Good place to try kerala cuisine. Tried their Pomfret full fish and it was really good. We loved it. Malabar paratha was one of the best I had in a while. Egg masala and kochi spl okra was good too. They are only open on weekends. Overall definitely a place to visit if you want to try kerala specials!! They are priced a little more than other Indian restaurants around.. but definitely worth it!
Spice Wok
This is a casual Indo-Chinese restaurant with floor-to-ceiling glass windows, providing a nice view of the exterior. Orders are taken by a waiter, as normal, but the food is served with a robot server. The robot goes very slowly, so there's no reason to be scared of it. This place is great for families, friends, and large groups. The food comes in huge portions for a good price, and is very tasty. The tempura ice cream is enough for two, and as our server mentioned, 2 entrees are about 25 oz, so enough for a family of three like us, especially with appetizers. We ordered the drums of Heaven (chicken drumsticks), crispy chilli baby corn, stir fry beef, combo fried rice, Manchurian shrimp, and fried ice cream, which came out to $113 including the service charge. We ended up packing one entree and one appetizer, and were insanely full by the end, so you could definitely just order fewer dishes and have a bill closer to $70 for three people. On the day we went, several of the dishes were unavailable, e.g. they were out of paneer. Since we came before the dinner rush and were the only people there, I felt this didn't reflect the best planning or inventory strategy. If a restaurant ends up out of a certain item, I'd expect it to be midway through dinner, not before dinner has even started. Still, the menu is expansive, and the food (especially the baby corn and chicken drumsticks) was great, so I'd recommend a visit anyway. One thing to note: I'd highly recommend bringing your own water bottles, as there's no tap water, only bottled water that you have to pay for. I didn't know this, as it was my first time, but we saw that most other families brought their own water bottles.
Ignore all the negative reviews, We are a group of 12 and we still chose Spice wok because of the large seating, and we are glad. Thanks for the good service and yummy food. Lollipop chicken was talked about a lot in the reviews, but it's Just different than the normal lollipop chicken it's great. Otherwise, the Momos, Mongolian beef, chili shrimp, chicken 65, orange chicken, etc, were all scrumptious.
Yummy Fusion 蜀香阁
Came for dinner with my son. The food was pretty good, fish was fresh. Service was very attentive. Nice selection of rolls. Enjoyed appetizers the most.
Came here with a big groups and our server was so patient with us. All food that we ordered were sooo good. Highly recommended this place!
Biryani Pot East Windsor
Had been to restaurant for a Friday evening- had good expectations on appetizers but all the appetizers are bland and not much as expected. Though the suggested dishes are said to be good but it was-bland. Not so good. People who want to have bland food this is suggested otherwise a BIG NO.
Food was great. We had Karvapaku chicken and Kaaram Podi chicken for appetizer, and a few Hyderabadi Biryani for entree. Food was amazing, flavor was excellent.
Asian Halal Meat & Kebab House
Small place nothing special. Meat prices much higher compared to other halal butcher shops. Closed on Monday or Tuesday? Mixed messaging. Not sure.
We ordered from the Asian Halal Meant & Kebab House three times already (via GrubHub) and on all three occasions we were quite satisfied with our orders. The kebabs (both Seekh lamb kebab and Afghan chicken kebab) were delicious. The mixed vegetables were very good too. The restaurant follows its customers' requests with utmost attention; when we asked for double wrapping (for the food to stay warm), it was duly noted and properly executed. Unlike many other Indian or Pakistani area restaurants, rice is not included and have to be purchased separately. However, much lower prices (e.g. some kebabs are priced $7.99 vs $13.99 offered at other restaurants) do fully make up for it.
