Yummy Orient
While traveling from Raleigh to Mount Olive, I visited Yummy Orient for lunch. This establishment surpassed my expectations. The restaurant was clean, offered a wide variety of food, and the quality was superior to that of typical buffets. Even the restrooms were clean. Most surprising was the exceptionally low price compared to other Chinese buffets in larger cities. During checkout, I inquired with an employee, possibly the owner or manager, about their pricing strategy. She explained that they have served this agricultural community since the early 1990s, recognizing the hardworking residents' limited income. Our goal is to provide an affordable and enjoyable all-you-can-eat dining experience. What a nice answer that sums everything up...I'll be back.
We found this place via google search. Good is clean, service is good. Price is less than $11 per person.
Mount Olive Chinese Restaurant
A lot of these recent reviews are pretty far from the truth, I came in and got two meals for $20 they gave pretty good sized portions for what I payed for, and from someone who is comes from an area well known for high quality food, especially asian food, this was actually really good. This isn’t like what everyone else says in their reviews. There was also was a woman back there working extremely hard and when she handed me my food she was really nice, I also really love how this business is also family oriented! Y’all need TO DO BETTER when supporting local businesses especially in a small town.
Placed an order over the phone. We were told about 30 minutes. We understand it’s a busy evening so we waited a bit longer. Arrived and my husband asked how long until the food would be done. The child/teenager working at the front went to the back and returned. She didn’t say a word and just stared at my husband. She kept ignoring him. I called to ask when the order would be done and I was told it was ready. I asked her to let him know since they wanted to keep ignoring him. Not the first time we’ve had a similar experience there unfortunately.
