China Palace Restaurant
Extremely authentic Taiwanese food!! One of the best i’ve had! They only do take outs!
The Chinese name of the restaurant literally meant "Taiwan Small Eatery" and that was what it served: authentic, inexpensive Taiwanese food that was sold at roadside eateries in Taiwan. It even played old (very old) Taiwanese/Japanese songs in the background. Our favorite was the Crispy tofu with cucumber chili sauce. We also liked most of the noodle dishes that we had tried . The only dish we did not like was the Tu-Tuo fish noodle soup. We could not detect fish in the fried fish. They tasted like fried flour.
Golden Jade
This is not our usual place. Either is the one across the street, which we ordered the day before and we’re extremely disappointed to the point that we wanted Chinese again the following night and we chose Golden Jade. Flat-out great food here and I knew it because it’s family run and everyone was friendly. You can tell they take pride in their cooking. We had fried dumplings which would great - they give you 8 and my only critique is they need more filling but the taste is great. The house lomein and house fried rice were outstanding. Fresh and not over sauced. The chicken and broccoli and the general tso chicken were what you expect in the taste department and we’re done very well. Their egg rolls were tasty. The highlight though was the boneless spareribs. So many places get this wrong - these were the best I’ve had in the area even topping my usual place. They had the right amount of glaze, weren’t tough and were made completely using rib meat. Sweet, salty, and easy to chew. This place didn’t disappoint and if it’s a battle between Golden Jade or the one across the street in the junction, Golden Jade is easily the winner.
My favorite local place to get Chinese food. I especially love their pork fried dumplings. It's also a family run business that deserves the love !
Tai Hing
Excellent Experience Just ordered from Tai Hing and wow, what a deal! For $77, we got what seemed like $200 worth of top-notch Chinese food. Everything was delicious, from the starters to the main courses. The ordering process was easy and the delivery was quicker than expected, with nothing missing. Highly recommend for quality and value!.
The absolute BEST Chinese food in the area....PERIOD!!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!
Taiwan Place
Taiwan place is close to my home so I can take a breakfast or lunch when I need it. Pickled and thickened soups are good in rainy days. Best start of the week.
Surprisingly good (southern)Taiwanese food! Pork rib over rice, and thickened pork soup tastes authentic and brings me right back home! Waiting to try more items on the menu!
Matata Asian Cuisine
Good sushi, but service going down the drain. We've been pretty loyal only ordering from here over the last several years, but lately the wait for takeout has been unbearable. 20+ min wait OVER the time given online. Not sure why the online system can't give you an accurate time to pick up. We're done here unfortunately.
Just moved to the area, and decided to give it a shot. Unfortunately there was a mistake with one part of our order and my wife was a little disappointed. We both enjoyed the food, but figured we might seek out another option next time. Only after dinner did I realize I had two missed calls from the restaurant. They were 30 mins apart, which indicated to me they really cared about contacting me. When I gave them a call back, they apologized for the mix up without me even mentioning it, and offered store credit the next time we decided to order. That care and attention just earned them two loyal customers! Oh - and the food was tasty :)
Sissy's Place
Friendly little dinner. I can see why locals like it. It's convenient, quick, and relatively cheap. Everything was bland though. It still blows me away how easy it is for restaurants like this that can still undercook and underseason home fries. There is nothing special about this place. Just another average dinner. Also, it's cash only. That's not a problem. I'm just letting anyone know who reads this that, that's a thing.
Lovely atmosphere, comfortable surroundings, cheerful helpful lovely waitress, Nancy. The food is fresh. I ordered the simple but tasty BLT on toasted whole-wheat with coleslaw & side of chips with a fresh pickle! Even the water is tasty, served in an ice cold iced mason jar! All good! Come on down. I recommend Sissy’s!!
Oriental gourmet
I ordered dragon phoenix, vegetable lo mein, and sesame wonton, and they were all so delicious with the sesame wonton being so flavorful and the jumbo shrimp from the dragon phoenix taste so fresh and the chicken with white meat tastes so juicy and crunchy with great flavor
The customer service was exceptional! Very friendly, fast and the food is incredibly tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Wahoo's Tacos and More
This is my go to place for many years. Fresh, delicious (mostly healthy) food that makes everyone happy! $7 kids meals and great people. Most people don’t know that they have an awesome happy hour too! Highly recommend for casual dining. Always a great time and everyone is always so nice to make sure that you are having a great time.
two kid burritos, carnitas nachos and a fish burrito add avocado. ordered takeout. parking sucks on a weekend. bar looked like a nice place to sit, music was loud. fish burrito was really good, i expected more avocado for the upcharge. kids had no complaints. decent nachos. only sent one salsa, i should have asked for more.
Wah Mei
Ordered food online, verified my phone number via a txt code, and received a text message confirmation that order #4 will be ready in 20min. Walked 20 minutes over to pick up my order. Guess what? Online system is down and nothing was prepared. And they were aware system is down! Did not have time to wait for them to cook so walked home empty handed. Any self respecting place would stop the website if they knew it doesn't work!!!
If I could give 0 stars I would! Terrible food! I thought I was going to get food poisoning! Everything looked like it sat out for four days and microwaved! Do yourself a favor and get Panda Express you would have better quality! NASTY FOOD! Refused to replace order or give a refund too! Terrible service.
Hunan Wok Restaurant
I am completely devastated! I use to eat here all the time growing up (literally almost everyday after school) and it’s been YEARS. Today, I just so happened to be in the area so I stopped by to pick up something Simple, one order of crab sticks with a can of ginger ale. Shockingly the price was $10 but whatever, I paid it. As I was eating one of the crab sticks something just wasn’t right. The appearance was off, the taste was off. I immediately stopped eating. I only ate less than of the crab stick and less than 20 mins later I was puking my brains out. Still vomiting as we speak. I even hate to agree with the previous reviews but the kitchen was absolutely repulsive.
I am calling the board of health. Totally disgusting. I ordered sweet and sour chicken lunch combo and the sauce had black specks in it, the chicken was burnt and the place was the dirties place I’ve ever seen. The container the sauce came in smelled like sour milk and as I was waiting I was looking around at the kitchen area and it was completely, completely disgusting, the place hasn’t ever been cleaned, including the food prep area. I threw the food out and ordered pizza from next door. Definitely do not eat from this place. You are risking your health.
House of Chong
So disappointed - just got ripped off at House of Chong so bad, we wanted to try a new place - my sweet and sour chicken (only a few pieces of chicken in my combo - mostly rice) is so over cooked it’s inedible - see photos. Rice is greasy and flavorless. I called to ask for a replacement or refund and they refused to help at all. Now I’m out dinner and the money. I’ve never experienced such poor service or food, ever.
Have tried so many dishes and never been disappointed. The cook deserves an award! The staff are gracious and helpful. The prices are right.
Sono Sushi
Well I finally went. And I needed time to get my thoughts in order… Ultimately, it never reached the pinnacle that, in my mind, OSHO had both in personal service, quality of fish, and simplicity of technique and sushi focus. I was first struck when we arrived by how clean and friendly it was, and how over half of the bustle was takeout… We started with an abundance of appetizers to get a sense of the atmosphere… The Salmon Tataki was superb. Perfectly sliced and with just the right amount of sauce. This was perhaps the star of the night. We also had the Gyoza… Again very nice but just a bit more spice would have been nice. I enjoyed the umami, but missed that tiny bit of punch. Still worth it. The edamame were good but lacked that extra saltiness I would have expected, but that is something of a personal preference. And then came the Rock Shrimp. This was on OSHO specialty and I was very disappointed at the Sono version. While the Shrimp were perfectly cooked, they had little spice and flavor of their own. And the breading was not crispy nor flavorful. The entire dish revolved around the sauce which was lacking in punch and was over dressed. We then ordered a large amount of Sushi since we wanted to sample everything… Even though we knew there would be leftovers… And we found some dynamite rolls and some just good rolls. To the left is the Incredible Roll, then the Crawfish Roll, and to the right the Hot Crunchy Crab. Way too match Krab and not nearly enough real crab to make the Incredible Roll incredible. It was just way over done. A little Krab goes a long way. And I would have thought the Hot Crunchy Crab would have been real crab but it too was not. It had the right amount of Krab so it wasn’t overwhelming, but it was lackluster at best. Then, with trepidation we tried the Crawfish Roll. Stunning. Wonderful spicy flavor and the crawfish was clearly able to take the starring role. Second course then arrived… Middletown Roll This time it was real Crab and deliciously smoked eel. And it would have been perfect where it not for an overwhelming chunk of avocado which took over the flavor profile. Though when removed left a wonderful roll. And finally the third course… Soft Shell, New York, and Sono Delight Rolls. The Sono Delight was just that, delightful with an excellent melding of flavors. Another winner. The New York was also very good with the unique flavor of Apple and Salmon. Very good but an acquired taste. And then the Soft Shell. Sigh. Once again the avocado dwarfed every other flavor out - notice the huge hunk on the one piece… Was it overall enjoyable? Yes. Will I go back? Yes but I will be more careful with what we order… And the pricing was a tad high. All in all, I will stick with the 3 roll lunch special at Kyoto. Not as fancy, and not as focused, but the fish is fresh and the bang for the buck is much better.
Probably the best chicken teriyaki I have ever had. The sushi looked amazing and the service was fenomenal. Can’t wait to see Ann and get the chicken teriyaki
