Lee's
Delicious Chinese food, it's my favorite spot I drive 2 hours from south Jersey for it.. their garlic sauce is to die for with their breaded chicken breast.. a must have šÆ
Itās disappointing to try out a different place from usual only to lose money on item you didnāt ask for. First and last.
New Hong Am Kitchen
Terrible donāt even bother asking them to deliver if you are staying in a hotel. My hotel was two. Locks away and they refused to deliver.
We've ordered pick or delivery here for years. The food is very good and consistent and the staff is very nice. It's one of our favorite go-to neighborhood spots!
Hung Sang
Staying in Union City for the Christmas holidays and I always eat local when traveling. I couldnāt be more happier to eaten here. The food portions are big, and it full of flavor along with affordable prices. Two is enough to share, all orders are made to order. So when it given to you it fresh, hot and delicious to eat.
**1-Star Google Review for a Bad Chinese Restaurant:** Terrible experience! Ordered takeout, and the food was cold, greasy, and tasteless. The portions were small for the price, and the ingredients didnāt seem fresh. On top of that, the staff was rude when I called to ask about a missing item. Definitely not authentic and not worth the money!Save yourself the disappointment and eat elsewhere.
Hong Kong
The delivery guy said if we were going to give him any tip cause he was wasting his brakes nd tires to bring the food to us
When I first moved in the area last year, they were a little run down but stayed producing THE BEST chinese/american style takeout in the city. Recently theyāve started adding new signs and lights, new plants and beautiful decor. They deserve it!! Iām so happy theyāre continuing to thrive as their food is a strong 10/10. The owners are extremely sweet too and speak both spanish and english fluently. Iāve spoken to the husband and wife about their shop and learned they have kids they are extremely proud of. As you can tell I go here OFTEN and for good reason haha even the chicken nuggets are amazing. They really donāt Ever screw Anything up. I adore this place!!!
Lin's Kitchen
Got the Dragon and Phoenix and it's super fresh General tso was crispy and the shrimp came like in a lobster sauce with plenty of veggies. Definitely ordering it again. Promise you, you won't regret it if you order it. Comes with white rice.
Best Chinese food in New Jersey! Fast, Efficient, affordable and tasty! I've been coming here for years
South Lions Dim Sum & Tea - Jersey City
āāāāā First and last time visiting South Lions Dim Sum & Tea. Bathroom was used for food storage! We came here with my family on Easter Sunday for a late lunch since we were craving dim sum, but this was easily one of the worst dining experiences weāve had. We ordered a variety of dishes ā Shanghai pork soup dumplings, sesame ball with lotus filling, shrimp and pork siomai, fried rice shrimp, jumbo shrimp siomai, Bangkok noodles with sautĆ©ed shrimp, and curry diced chicken. While the portions were big and good for sharing, the taste was very disappointing. The food was bland, not satisfying, and felt rushed. The sesame ball barely had any filling and lacked sesame seeds. Both pork and shrimp siomai were huge in size but flavorless. The curry diced chicken wasnāt savory or flavorful at all, and the Bangkok noodles were just not delicious. Service was equally terrible. We constantly had to call the servers for water, napkins, sauce, and to follow up on missing items. Despite dining in, they served everything in takeout boxes with plastic utensils and chopsticks ā not what you expect when sitting down at a restaurant. The worst part was the bathroom ā absolutely filthy and completely unacceptable. It was being used as a storage room with not just cleaning supplies, but food items and even baby chairs crammed inside. There were pantry items literally sitting inside the restroom, next to the dirty toilet where guests are supposed to use the bathroom. It was disgusting, unsanitary, and completely gross when you think about the food being prepared and served here. This was our first and definitely our last visit. Prices were not cheap either, which makes it even worse considering the dirty environment, bad food, and poor service. The city seriously needs to inspect this restaurant for sanitation, safety, hygiene, and food handling violations. If you are craving legit Chinese food, never, ever attempt to go here. There are far better and cleaner places elsewhere. I forgot to take photos of the bathroom situation but you have to check it for yourself if you have doubts. Of course, I donāt bring my phone inside the bathroom. PS: Donāt spend your dollar here coz itās not worth it! Go somewhere else. Not to mention it is located in Downtown. It doesnāt match the city area.
Small little Hong Kong style dim sum place that serves delicious home-style food. Highly recommend! Edit: we loved it so much, we ended up going back on new years day. Added more photos!
Great Wok
Good American-style Chinese restaurants that charge reasonable prices are becoming harder and harder to find - this is one of the last standing. I found this spot while visiting a friend in the area and was pleasantly surprised by the fair pricing for good food, with most dishes and combinations costing less the $9. However, the portion sizes have become smaller over the last 2 years, with them ditching the traditional styrofoam platter for plastic containers that are at least 20% smaller. So far, every dish I had tasted good from General Tso's for $9 to the fried Chicken with rice for $8, and the chicken lo mein for $6. Just note that the sauce on items like General Tso's or Orange Chicken is quite sweet, but still not overwhelmingly so like other restaurants tend to be. It is not a fancy spot. There are just a few tables to dine in if you like, but I would recommend going if you don't want to eat with the occasional weirdo that stops by. Unlike many Chinese restaurants, the server taking orders did greet meet me when I entered and was short but polite. He even politely explained the total when I inquired because tax is not included in the price - for some strange reason I've had others get a little annoyed by that question. So, thumbs up on that. It is located in a busy residential area. So, if you are driving, parking is not easy to find. Your best bet is to find somewhere to temporarily pull over, then run in and grab your food. Overall, this is currently one of my few preferred Chinese spots in North Jersey. Whenever I'm in the area and want Chinese, this is the only place I trust for a tasty and decent-sized meal at a fair price.
I'm not going to lie I been to many spots around here and been a resident for over 30 years this by far the best spot there food is on point I'd recommend coming here
Keming
The worst food delivery Iāve ever had. I ordered the fatty beef dry hot pot. I couldnāt find even one piece of beef at all other than these like ground fat. It also came with musty cabbage and sausage. I happened to eat some cus I wasnāt paying attention and was eating while watching TV shows. Now I feel so sick. I never left any comments but the food here is disgusting.
The bestttt Chinese food for both dine-in AND takeout. Iāve had a lot of Chinese food places in my life but this place is def the best. Iāve had the sesame chicken, general tsoās, fried rice, and lo Mein and I am so serious when I say every single thing was the best Iāve ever had - flavor and texture are on point!!! This is also the only Chinese food Iāve had that doesnāt leave me feeling terrible afterwards which is worth mentioning. Itās somewhat family style so you canāt get the ācomboā meals that you can get at a typical place. So one meat dish and one noodle/rice dish can feed ~2 people - just an FYI but plz donāt let it stop you from ordering!
Urban Skewers
This place is absolutely amazing!! Worth the small wait for super yummy fresh food. The chicken skewers were described by my son Oliver as "the best thing I've ever eaten"! The mushroom skewers were a++.
Very tasty skewers. Came across them randomly on their opening day and they were still open pretty late. Skewers were super tasty. I ordered the beef (mild) and salt and pepper pork belly. The beef had great flavor with the spices and the meat itself was pretty tender. The pork belly was heavily peppered which I really liked, though it could have used a bit more salt. Overall, I am glad this food truck now exists to bring more diversity to the food options. My only complaints are that I wish the meat chunks were bigger and that I had a beer to eat them with.
South Lions Dim Sum & Tea
I came with my family during weekends. The buns and fried tofu were delicious and tasty. All of us love it. A good place, very chill and friendly. This is a hidden gem in Hoboken
My wife and I recently visited South Lions Dim Sum & Tea, and it was a fantastic experience! The food was absolutely delicious and authentic. We loved the variety of dim sum options, all served fresh and hot. The steamed dumplings were perfect, and the Portuguese egg tarts were a sweet and delightful treat. The service was efficient and friendly, and we appreciated how clean and cozy the place felt. Everything we tried was excellent. We will definitely be coming back to try more dishes! This restaurant is now one of our favorites, and we canāt wait to come back again! If youāre in Hoboken and looking for a great place to enjoy dim sum with your loved ones, this is the spot to go.
Precious Chinese & Japanese Cuisine
Best service & best food! Love ā¤ļøā£ļøš their vegetarian general tso chicken!! Great service & everything came out so quick!
This is a review for the VEGETARIAN food. To start, I arrived at lunch time, parking was a hassle, somewhat busy but I was attended to within 10 minutes. I ordered a vegetable roll which came out fairly quickly. Absolutely full of oil, I took one bite and a spoonful full of oil dropped out of it. I couldnāt even finish it very bad. I ordered vegetarian garlic chicken and white rice. The veggies were crunchy and fresh, the sauce was more like a brown sauce and the soy based chicken was disgusting. The veg chicken was more like a thin tofu skin which was dry and chewy - not like a typical soy based mock meat. This is more like a tofu skin that was over cooked. Worst of all, my expectation was high as I turned and witnessed a few people order meat and get their orders first. This made me assume I would be receiving fresh mock meat but that was not the case. Overall, I will not return unless I order a veggie based dish without the mock meat. It seems that their meat dishes are popular, I would steer away from the mock meat chicken if you order a vegetarian dish. The service was good, the server was friendly and made suggestions. The environment was busy but a nice aesthetic. Prices are more than reasonable. I hope your experience is better than mine if you visit :)
Great Wall
Only thing I ate yesterday and today I feel like my life is at risk. Decided to get the crab sticks along with their chicken and rice . Came out positive for food poisoning and will never eat here again.
They simply unfrozen the food package (Walmart brands) and didnāt bother to even cook, served it as soon as the ice melted - see the ādesired fried foodā photos for yourself
