Wonder West Harrison
Honestly, I’m impressed. Definitely want to try more of the items here but the chicken souvlaki and veg shawarmas were very good. Fried chicken was decent - could have been juicier. Di Fara pizza was better than expected. A touch dry as well but great flavor. Parking is available in the parking garage to the right - there’s even dedicated spots for Wonder. Shout out to Jonathan Agnant and Julio for their above and beyond hospitality. Looking forward to trying more dishes!
Food was ok. expensive for what it is. Prepackaged magnolia deserts. Parking situation isn’t great. Probably better for uber eats vs pick up. I wouldn’t repeat. Probably a good option for an office working late night when you need a lot of options to suit lots of different preferences and you don’t care about the price.
Quenas Restaurant
We live 40 minutes away, but my husband and I come to Quenas now and then because it has reliably delicious food and attentive, kind service. The dishes are beautifully presented, adorned with an edible flower (I always eat mine...why not?), and any cocktails with foamy tops have a little heart "drawn" atop the foam. The complimentary Peruvian toasted corn is positively addictive. The outdoor seating area is festive and cheerful, with lots of twinkling lights. The vibe is a bit like a Peruvian prom, but I think it's fun!
Came to Quenas for a family dinner, and I must say this place is a hidden gem. The staff are attentive and helpful. The Peruvian food and cocktails were reasonably priced and fantastic. While the indoor area of the restaurant is small, they have an outside courtyard and a heated large tent area just next door. There's only street parking available but we didn't have a problem with that.
Aria
The food is AMAZING - one of the best Asian fusion I've had! Be patient if you go here - staff is totally overwhelmed with all the customers getting takeout, delivery service and regular diners. The dumpling soup is unbelievable. Lobster tempura roll was "fire" according to my son.
Fresh sushi and delicious Poke Bowl. Also tried the Beef Kung Pao with Cashews. Fast & Efficient service. Will definitely come back, specially for the Lunch Specials (they have a long list of options)
China Garden
They don't seem to want your business. Can't say please or thank you. Hard to get a smile. We used to eat there more often, but they seem to think you owe them a living. Food is pretty good but I don't care for the attitude, especially the kids.
This is a very clean place but the food is soooooooo bad I don’t know what it is but the flavor is just off I can’t seem to enjoy it I do not recommend the bourbon chicken
Happy Garden Chinese buffet restaurant
The buffet is Great. The service is impeccable, greeted us @ the door, pleasant and kind, just the way it should be. Clean, cleanest place I've seen in a long time. Carpet is really clean as well as the tables. The music was perfect, my wife and I knew all the songs and really appreciated it. Made our whole day. This is a hidden gem 💎 in the Harrison area. I cannot believe I have never eaten here and I've been here in Harrison for years. A must try. 👍🏽💯
In a buffet setting, one shouldn't be genuinely scared of what's on offer, and, friends, I absolutely was. The buffet itself is extremely limited, with two small hot bars, one "dessert" bar that I couldn't bring myself to touch the fruit from, and the most baffling, almost assuredly illegal ice cream selection I've ever seen. It's a small deep freezer with..just open tubs of ice cream in it. Seriously, there's no way that meets food safety regulations. If you're not blessed with the constitution of an ox, you're probably better off just avoiding the place. Especially since both items I grabbed with beef (beef with broccoli and mushroom beef) were actually chicken. Anywhere that can't be bothered to label their food correctly, or worse, intentionally mislabels it, isn't somewhere that has your best interests in mind.
New China 3
I arrived 5 minutes before they closed. The woman working behind the counter was very nice and took my order. I got the chicken & broccoli with white rice. Food was good. Would go back.
I recently ordered from New China 3, and while the food and service were satisfactory, there was one aspect that left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant has a minimum charge requirement of $15 for card transactions, which affected my overall experience. The food quality was decent; I ordered a dish priced at $11, and it met my expectations in terms of taste and portion size. However, when I decided to add a soda for an additional $4 to meet the minimum charge requirement for card payments, it felt a bit forced. While I understand that businesses need to cover transaction fees, a more flexible policy could be more customer-friendly.
Golden Eagle Chinese Restaurant
Great family owned place for decades, when I go in they treat me like family because I’m kind and respectful. I’ve noticed a lot of people leaving reviews of one star only leave negative reviews and in my opinion often invalidates their opinions. Seems like most people want to have their butts kissed by their neighbors, but if you’re kind and respectful to staff they’ll return the favor. Food is delicious, prices are fair, and the kitchen is open and clean.
Good food,Good service and very kind people really recommend this restaurant you wont regret it. I Ordered Chicken Lo Mei and the wonton fried there where 🔥🔥.
China Wok
The food here is AMAZING. it’s better if you do a take out to be honest :)
I have been a customer for 9 years, moving from Kearny to Harrison, back to Kearny & I have never stopped ordering from them. They have a wonderful attitude, even during VERY busy times. Sweet lady who answers the phone is so pleasant. They always get my order right. The food tastes great, well cooked! There have been different people working here, but they must be family because they are all just great. Thank you guys for your service!
5 Grains rice
had a terrible experience at this one. The food tasted far from fresh, with some dishes giving off an unpleasant, stale flavor. It seemed like they were trying to cut corners, and the quality was just unacceptable. To make things worse, the pricing felt misleading, and I left feeling cheated. I wouldn’t recommend dining here if you care about freshness and value for your money..
Simple but authentic Chinese food but the dine-in environment is not very good. Spicy fish with tofu was quite good. Ask for the Chinese menu. If you can’t read it, ask them to recommend something authentic! They take credit cards, reluctantly. Street parking.
Chinatown Restaurant
Food was delicious (a bit too salty for me), portion was generous, price was fair, service was good, & atmosphere was ok. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. Appreciate the authentic Chinese menu. We ordered 4 dishes, except the bean curd with baby bok choy, 3 came in clay pots (fish fillet with fermented vegetables, chicken with chestnut & seafood casserole), which we really appreciate. Street parking.
My family and I were a party of six, and we needed somewhere to eat at 8pm. They were very accommodating and seated us quickly, and our food came out incredibly soon after we ordered! The lo mein was very delicious, as were all the soups we ordered (egg drop, hot and sour, wonton, and chicken and rice.) The chicken wings and General Tsao’s chicken were both great, though my family wasn’t a huge fan of the Mongolian beef or scallion pancakes. The worst part of the experience was the fact that they are so popular that they had run out of a lot of the food we initially wanted to order- the duck, the eggplant, and even the crispies that go in the soup! They also do not currently have a sushi chef, so they are not serving sushi, which gets rid of half their menu. If we ever are in this part of New Jersey again, we will definitely stop back by… but earlier in the day before they run out of food!
The Burger Bar by Wegmans
I kept coming back to this place it’s so addicting. I liked how they cook the burger and it’s not greasy or salty at all compared to Smashburger or Shake Shack. This by far is my favorite burger place now. The staff are very nice, friendly and helpful. What adds to the points are the seating area is huge. It’s welcoming people to sit and dine in!
Ordered a double.... paid for a double. Got a single. Ordered maple onion jam...... got onions. Couldn't get through half of it. Won't be coming back.
Szechuan Garden
The food was horrible . Not only was it bad it was really bad order sesame chicken white meat it was all breading no meat spring roll horrible and I waited forever a waste of 15 dollars absolutely
Stopped in to place an order to take out. I must say the guy at the counter was really nice when taking my order. The restaurant is very clean and neat. The food is very good and I highly recommend trying them out. I'll definitely be a return customer! My go to for Chinese takeout in Harrison
