New Beijing House Chinese Restaurant
My husband and I started going to this Chinese restaurant in 2020 when we moved to Mays Landing and this is right around the corner. They make the best shrimp and broccoli. I have issues going to other Chinese restaurants because it doesn’t taste like New Beijing House. The food is always piping hot and tastes amazing. It takes maybe 10 minutes for an order to be completed even if you order multiple items. The service is great, best Chinese place for me.
One of my favorite places in town to get Chinese food. We usually get combination plates and get it delivered. Prices are pretty good, good portions. I recommend this restaurant, it's delicious. Update-Managed to order tonight and it was so good. Featured are- General Tso's Chicken, General Tso's Shrimp (which was so delicious ;^;), and Hot and Spicy Beef. There was more than enough for us and it was so good. Another update! We ordered a few different things this time, one being the beef and broccoli. It was so tender and good! If you haven't tried this place yet, you are really missing out! Update 09/22/23 We were so sick and got a chance to order. I love this restaurant so much. We ordered hot and sour soup and it was so good and spicy! We had soup, fried rice, and general Tso's chicken. It was so hot and delicious! Thank you guys so much for the wonderful meal! Already feeling much better. Special thanks to the delivery guy.
Best Food in Town
If you’re able to get through to someone on the phone, consider yourself lucky. After about 10 minutes of calling with no answer, I decided to go into the restaurant and order in person. I was told 15 minutes for 3 combination platters and waited for over 30 minutes. The portion sizes have gotten smaller as well due to the new containers they use. The food was decent, nothing spectacular.
Best buffet around! Don't waste your time at the bigger ones. This place has the best food and the best price around. You can't beat it! They have the best chicken wings too! I also love the shrimp, chicken and mushroom dish.
Asian Chao Oriental eatery
The staff are very friendly. The food very nice especially bourbon chicken and orange chicken. Noodles and fried rice are great with the chicken. Best chinese food i got in new jersey.
Maybe I should’ve taken it as a warning when I saw no one in line… I went up to them because I needed a quick bite… the atmosphere was strange I ordered my food nothing thinking too much about it. I sat down and noticed the workers eyeing me down. Watching me eat. The broccoli was old and brown. The chicken had a sour smell and taste. The rice you can tell was sitting there for a while and it tasted old and mushy. Not the best experience I’ve had. I would not come here again, my stomach started to hurt mid way eating it. I had to throw it away.
Best Food In Town II
Use to be better I order a dish the I couldn't finish before and today the portion was poor then before and rice feel old looks like they are trying to cut on the portion but raise the price, I don't mind paying but for something good.
Food was delicious chef and the chef was so accommodating at making menu selections special for our dietary restrictions. JUST good good food Low prices and portions were huge. Enough for tomorrow s lunch .
Cheech 2 GO
Stopped in on a whim heading back from the shore. So glad we did! I can't remember the last time I had pizza this good! The crust was perfect - crisp but airy, not greasy, and so flavorful it didn't need any pizza seasoning like chili flakes or garlic salt. The owner was so pleasant and kind. Definitely try the upside down pizza. Me encanta - delicioso!
I just picked up an order for a “well done” half pepperoni pizza and I got charged $1.50 for well done and the pie wasn’t even well done! I tried calling in to see why I would be charged for this , as it’s the most bizarre thing I’ve ever heard and the counter girl hung up on me!! I called back in she puts me on hold for 10 minutes and tells me Lorenzo the manager is not in, I ask her when he will be returning so I can speak with him and in the background a man says “tell her 9 when we are closed”. What a sad way to run a business with no accountability or integrity . I would give them 0 stars if it was possible.
Mays Landing Diner
What a wonderful place to get together. Seems like everyone in the town loves this location. The service from greetings to our exit was phenomenal. Highly recommend to give it a try. Our favorite this far are the breakfast skillets 3 out of three meals ordered were all the rave. The crepes were delicious but didn't live up to the bite and texture of the crepes we are used to. They were more like thin pancakes due to the slightly softer and fluffier texture. The overall taste was still delicious with the combinations offered. Home fries were like crisp tasty potatoes bites and these complimented the skillets we ordered because they kept the crispness even with all of the toppings and our over medium eggs. Overall we will return firstly due to the service and of course to dive into more options. 😀
We met at the Mays Landing diner for a meeting. We all ordered breakfast, and I have to say, everyone was very satisfied. Super delicious, good sized portions, and great selection. Our waitress was prompt and friendly. The diner wasn't my choice for the meeting spot, I figured a diner would be loud. I was wrong. It worked out well. Great spot to grab a bite to eat. Clean, great service, and delicious food.
Ye Olde Mill Street Pub
What an amazing, rustic, delightful place! I'm in love. From the moment you walk in you can feel the warmth of the "old fashioned" family restaurant that you used to go to as a kid. Big padded booths, wooden tables, a beautiful bar, and the most amazing marbled carpet that made me feel like it was 1975. Then onto the menu. Delicious cocktails and beverages and the food! From light fare, savory Appetizers, and Entrees to bust your belly. The portions are huge yet the cost is more than reasonable. Everything was delicious, including the service. The restaurant is ground level, there is room for wheelchair accommodations, and plenty of free on site parking. I can't wait til my next visit! If you are looking for a fun, family friendly place to enjoy good food and good times look no further. Enjoy!
It's our annual Halloween tradition to eat at the pub. Years ago, we would go for the Prime Rib special and the flounder kids' meal. Neither of those were available today. Out of 5 of us, everyone got something different from the menu. None of the food was great, but it wasn't bad either. If you have food restrictions, this is probably not going to be a place to eat unless you order a salad and deconstruct it a bit. There isn't a simplistic a la cart menu to piece together food items. The prices for the quality and quantity of the food are unbalanced if you compare the Pub to a Diner. If you want nostalgia, you will definitely get it here since nothing has been updated in years, which is fine. It's hard to rate the wait staff since there were so many people, and it was super busy. The wait on the food was not long considering, and everything came out hot. The patrons were all huddled at their tables, chatting pleasantly with one another, and the atmosphere was relatively calm. The bathroom was clean but run down aesthetically compared to prior visits. It wasn't a bad time, and we will be eating there more than likely next Halloween.
Osaka Japanese Cafe
I've always loved this place. I have been coming here since I went to high school (and I graduated in 2014). Such delicious food, and such a great price point. I know things were cheap back then but this is still pretty cheap! About $5.50 for a teriyaki chicken bowl? They fill the container and give plenty of rice. I used to come here everyday for lunch or to bring a bunch back home. My friends and their families get this too! Truly a hole in the wall and rare place that serves great food at completely reasonable prices. High recommended.
Despite its location in a mall that's seen better days, Osaka offers the best sushi in Egg Harbor Township or Mays Landing. The service is fast, the food is fresh and tasty, and it's also very cheap. Osaka has been a fixture in the corner of the mall for at least the past twenty years - and for good reason. Specials are worth exploring but so are staples like the teriyaki chicken bowl or a crispy shrimp roll. No other sushi restaurant in the area makes their rice so well.
Johnnie's Restaurant
Great atmosphere! Maria was fabulous!!! When you go into a place and it’s jam packed and everyone is friendly it’s a great indicator of what’s to come. So happy to have a chance to visit - eggs cooked perfectly! Service is exceptional here. A must visit for all!
Typical diner but prepared better than most. Walked in was busy but hostess found me a spot immediately. Waitress didn't bother me while eating but made sure my coffee was filled. Definitely am coming back.
CHINA MAY
Wont be back again, lady is super rude. Place looks even more run down and gross than I remember, this will be the last time I ever step foot into this place. Go somewhere else.
We walked in and walked right back out. The restaurant looked dirty and uncomfortable for dining and service. The menu was only partially lit up. The door and windows were dirty. There were boxes stacked up. There were tables just randomly placed. It didn’t feel like they were even open for business. However, they were indeed open for business. Note to restaurant…if you want customers, then look as if you want customers.
Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet
It is a spacious Asian buffet with a variety of food. I initially liked this buffet, but the other family members disagreed with me. So the star rating reflects the average of all my family's. As soon as we were guided to the table, the waitress asked me if I wanted to pay upfront or pay later. Since I had to pay for it anyway, I paid for it before running to pick food up. Then, she did not clean up our stacked dishes for a half-hour. Then, I regretted paying for it in advance. The variety of food is fantastic. Since my kids and wife like oysters, I brought a plate full of oysters first; however, they ate only one and never touched them again. When I asked the reason later, they told me that oysters smelled terrible. Then, I brought crab legs and only found that crab meat almost did not exist inside. Fish meats of sushi was way too squashy. My sons, sushi maniacs, didn't eat it much, unlike my expectations, because fish flesh was not fresh, and it didn't have the texture to feel. So, my kids ate chicken and other standard American junk food. If you are starving or if your choice is only here, I'm sorry, but you will have no choice but to be here; however, if you have an alternative place to go, you may want to reconsider going there.
Well after 13 years of going to this place, I thought I would provide my two-cents. It is one of my go-to places, because the takeout is so convenient and healthy. I always go to the Hibachi grill, where they hook me up with my choices and how I want my food. The grill people always get my food right. I will continue going here as long as they have that grill section with fresh ingredients and a variety of sauce combinations. The downside-The reason I stopped sitting in, is because the servers are always trying to look for tips ahead of time, so they can determine how hard they should be working. One time after I paid, one server pointed at the tip percentages for me like I am a little child. When you do not pay the tip, they will sneak a look over your receipt every few seconds, and I saw some of them get that frustrated look. No other restaurant I have been to, on this planet, look for tips ahead of time. Tips are earned not given. And when someon3 tips them too low, ahead of time, they will stop providing service, like taking dishes away. This is the one thing that needs to be fixed at this restaurant. But the grill and takeout options definitely saved this place from getting a lower rating from me. I hold this buffet dear to my heart, and I wish it much success, because Mays Landing needs them.
