My China Cafe
Definitely recommend My China Cafe in Hackensack on Linden Street. Have ordered a few times from this place online and orders have always been good. Fast service and big side portions for the price point. Can’t go wrong with their General Tso’s Chicken with chicken fried rice. The House Special Fried Rice is also really good. The Beef w. Broccoli is one of better ones I’ve had when compared to other Chinese food places in the area. Have ordered the Chicken w. Broccoli in the past but is ok. Overall, some of the best Chinese takeout places in the Hackensack area.
We had the sesame tofu which was awesome! We also had the General Tso Chicken with lomein instead of rice and it was soggy. We were able to order directly from their website. I decided to go with this restaurant because of other Google reviews. Ordering process on the website was relatively easy. Order are came at the expected time. They did not update the steps for the order as it was complete but that’s okay. I would order the sesame tofu again. It was yummy. Oh, they also threw in a free can of Coke.
King's City chinese and sushi
For my first visit to this HIDDEN GEM, I ordered potstickers, miso soup, and a shrimp tempura roll. The miso soup was delicious! I think it also had soy or fish sauce, making a complex flavor. The potstickers were the right balance of wrapper and filling. I also really enjoyed the roll. It had a great flavor and was a perfect size. My server was delightful-answering all my questions and providing great recommendations. I can't wait to get back.
I ordered the combo pho, eggrolls and a papaya salad. The service was very good, my water was refilled frequently without me asking. So the food, the pho combo comes with shrimp, beef, pork belly, meatballs; I asked to have the shrimp removed but forgot about the pork. Those 2 items changes the broth flavor in my opinion. The broth is herby and isn’t as salty as other locations which I like. The noodles to me were slightly over boiled and I mean slightly. The eggrolls are more Chinese style eggrolls, very similar to those you buy at kwik trip but much better quality and crispy. The papaya salad was good, but in my opinion the shrimp paste and padak was overwhelming; you will definitely need to get some sticky rice or eat a ton of those lettuces provided. Over all it wasn’t bad their menu is vast and a lot of options from Thai, Chinese, Lao, Vietnamese, Japanese…I’d go back again to give the other entrees a try and maybe those will be a better hit for me. They have Sushi Laab and $30 for 12 oysters chuked. I didn’t try but supposedly their Chicken Wing Laab flavor is very popular.
One Third
Ordered 5 rolls to-go during lunch time. The atmosphere inside of One Third seemed like a pretty nice spot (although I went at an off-time so it was not busy). The staff was pleasant and welcoming. The sushi rolls were just okay when compared to surrounding places. I ordered 3 regular maki rolls (tuna, 2 yellowtail) and a spicy tuna and spicy salmon. Regular maki rolls were very fresh and enjoyable with a good ratio of rice to fish. The yellowtail had nice marbling and seemed like a good cut of fish. The spicy rolls were disappointing to me as they were overly dry and had too much filler it seemed. They were fine but not overly enjoyable. The rolls were of decent size and seemed to be a good value. Although I can’t speak for any other menu options I would most likely not return as there are other places I prefer. Overall I would rate it more of a high 3 star than quite hitting a 4 star.
I think it's the best place to eat sushi! I love this place I could come every day✨😍
China Star
I see some of these other reviews saying the food is bad and I feel like they can't be eating the same food. I've been going here for decades and it has been outstanding the entire time. They are ridiculously fast and the quality is excellent. Best Chinese food in the area for sure and they have earned my business many times over. If you are on the fence just try it and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
New China Star is a Chinese restaurant in Bethlehem located on Linden Street. The menu, prices, and food quality are comparable to every other takeout Chinese restaurant. They are open from 11AM - 930PM every day except Sunday. Sunday they don't open until noon. There is no dine-in option but they do deliver. Boneless Spare Ribs - 7.4 Egg Roll - 7.1 Chicken Lo Mein - 7.6 House Special Lo Mein - 7.5 Sesame Chicken - 7.2 Kung Po Chicken - 7.8 Shrimp Mei Fun - 7.6 Food - 7.5 Service - 7.6 Value - 7.5 Restaurant score - 75
Asian Taste Indo
This was my first time trying this place. And Let me tell you, this is authentic Indonesian food. Lots of flavor and spice! You will not regret coming to this place. Their Beef rendang was very flavorful and the right consistency. Their fried rice can’t be beat! If you can handle spice like a real Indonesian, you would not be disappointed. I love the presentation and the amount of food they gave. The oxtail soup was very tender, not salty but still tasty! The chicken Indonesian noodle soup reminded me of an Indonesian food vendor back in Indonesia and it comes with the fried wonton, was not too oily and pack with flavor. I also had their non-Indonesian food, like tom yum soup and Thai chicken satay which were also very good. The service was very welcoming and kind hearted. The time I ordered the food to getting it served on the table was prompt. The prices are very reasonable and their portions are plenty! If you decide to dine in they have very limited seatings. Overall this place deserves all the praise for serving in a town with majority non-Indonesian people. Definitely give it a try!
Best halal food i’ve had in the Lehigh Valley. This is my new to go spot. Staff is friendly and atmosphere is clean, serving sizes are great!
Kumo Sushi
Excellent. So many options! I have never had a bad experience. My food is always ready, on time, and my order is always correct. I have never eaten in as it was closed off for awhile post pandemic. Picking up my latest order they have it open. Good amount of space/tables for the location.
The food is fresh, roll options are awesome. As someone who can't consume a lot of rice, I still want to participate in "Sushi Friday," the Naruto options are so helpful and tasty. I highly recommend this place, order online and pick up is easy.
