A & J Bistro
Everything was delicious. Great pricing for good quality. Boba tea was also very good. Definitely returning.
I can't say enough about A&J! The flavors are so intricate and comforting and also consistent year after year. I love that you're automatically greeted with a fresh pot of tea and you can order anything to your desired spice level. Everything I've had there is delicious but the fried rice, soup dumplings, noodles and various soups are amazing. If you're looking for a great Taiwanese restaurant frequented by Taiwanese people, this is it!
Bill & Harry's Chinese Cuisine
First time here yesterday on a Sunday. Food was mediocre. We had edamame, a sizzling beef and shrimp platter, orange chicken. The sizzling platter would have been better had it not been over cooked it had a burnt taste. The rest was ok. The place is small, but cozy. The servers we had were not welcoming at all. We were basically rushed the whole dinner and brought the check at 8pm. Rushed out the doors. They close at 8:30pm. Just poor Customer Service. Not friendly. I do not recommend even if there is nothing around open on a Sunday. Poor experience. I would not recommend at all.
Bill and Harry style noodle is a must have!!!! Thick udon noodles with baby bok choy and your choice of meat with brown sauce... Absolutely Delicious!!!
Mr. Chu
This place has been around since the 1980's and is showing a little wear both outside and in. Service and food is good and consistent. Hot dishes are not as spicy as one would expect, so if you like things hot ask for extra heat. This time, I thought the free fried wontons were a little stale, my butter knife was so old it had a hole, the outside road sign is noticably rusty, and some bench seat cushions are cracked hence my lower rating. I love this place and would hate to see it go, but some updates are needed.
3 dishes + soup for $25 is a great deal. The soup was a house soup. The tofu with shredded pork and sauteed string beans were very tasty, but the eggplant with basil was a bit oily. Looking forward to trying other dishes.
Spicy chef
Happened to be passing through and glad to have found this place. Large portions. Food was tasty, but wasn’t very spicy surprisingly. The 水煮鱼chili oil fish was sweet and mild. The 口水鸡saliva chicken had no heat but a ton of crushed peanuts. We did mention to the staff and they were very understanding and offered to make it spicier, but we declined since the food was already all made. Will definitely support this spot again and will ask for more spice beforehand.
I would give 3.5 stars. I tried only 4 dishes so far and I would say it’s average. Wouldn’t complain since the location is close by us when I’m craving for soup dumplings and spicy food. I personally love the fried fish fillet with spice but it’s too spicy for my family except me. The pork belly is good. The cilantro yellow fried beef is average, just coz I need to order something not spicy for my younger kid. The soup dumplings don’t have much soup inside. I think we’ll come back to try other dishes when we’re craving for spicy dishes again.
Penang Malaysian and Thai Cuisine
My only issue with this place is that it taste TOO good. We are visiting from Florida and on Christmas night when most places were closed, we needed dinner at our hotel. We ordered two soups and the beef and it was delicious. They delivered our order in about an hour to the 3rd floor of our hotel. The coconut curry soup is a MUST TRY! I had the rest leftover for breakfast this morning.
Simply amazing and outstanding restaurant. They were packed for dinner and for good reason. The flavors in the food were u paralleled. I had not tried Malaysian food before this and it's now my new favorite. Just WOW. Staff there were super friendly and helpful, and we thoroughly enjoyed all our experiences there.
Flaming Grill & Modern Buffet- East Hanover
This is my favorite buffet. I came here during the week so it was not crowded at all. The food all seemed fresh and the location seems very clean and modern. This location has boba drinks, ice cream, sushi, lots of fruit, etc. Very enjoyable experience. The servers were very friendly and attentive also. The food was so good i forgot to take pictures of it.
Lots of food options, especially meat, seafood and sushi options for Thursday night. The ginger and scallion Lobsters and 红烧肉were so delicious! Overal food was delicious and plenty. Would like to recommend a couple of more healthy vegetables (to substitute fried food), such as stir fried baby bok choy or snowpeas or Cauliflower. Waitresses were very friendly. The floor was so sticky and the bathroom could be cleaner. But overall very good 👍
Ten Seconds Yunnan Rice Noodle at EH
This spot is at the corner of KAM MAN Market, or you can reach out inside the market, too. The food was not good. It lacked seasoning, and it wasn't hot. It was warm. The staff seemed like he really didn't want to be there. I've been to other locations like Brooklyn, and that's a good time.
Great taste with a HUGE chicken leg! No spicy at all, but the soup was full of flavors. Lots of toppings - wood ear, corn, etc. Clean environment. Self service. I came here at 10am when it's a little chilly outside, and the warm soup definitely helped!
Hui Tou Xiang - East Hanover
We had lunch here. They have a simple menu with appetizers, noodles and rice dishes. The soup dumplings were very light and flavorful. Chive pancakes were crispy and golden. Beef in the noodle soup was extremely tender and my ramen was also yummy. Everything is great. Highly recommend!
I will be very honest we stumbled upon this place and we were very happy we did! Everything was so good and fresh. The chicken ramen was so good homemade broth and homemade noodles with crispy and tender chicken is a must try. And the scallion pancakes are amazing. The drinks are also a 10 out of 10. I’m not a boba type of girl but this place made me love it. Please come and try it for yourself. I’ll tell you a joke but I’ll never tell you a lie it’s a must try. You won’t be disappointed. And it’s a newly opened so show some support!
Sunny Kitchen
3.5/5 First time trying this place. Seemed promising 4.6 rating on Google but disappointed. Too out of the way. Gen Tso Chicken - 4.75/5. Not really fair to rate because take out always makes food soggy but gotta rate what it is. Semi crispy. The sauce is just right, portions are huge. Usually able to finish the entire container myself but this place is the first I could only finish half. Beef with garlic sauce - 4.75/5. Good portions for all portions, flavor is a solid. Curry chicken with onions - 0/5. Couldn’t rate, they screwed up the order, got chicken with garlic sauce instead. Wife was starving and this place was too far to go back. Chicken with garlic sauce is also a solid 4.5, missing something in the flavor, not certain what. Lo mein, plain. 4.0/5. Flavors is 4.5 but weird aftertaste which ruined it.
There food is always good. I mostly get sushi (California roll) but when I'm feeling greedy I get the general tho chicken on the lunch menu. They are adorable and close to my job so its convenient.
