New China Pond Restaurant
New China Pond Restaurant was highly recommended to my nephew, who manages a business, by one of his customers. We decided to try it out based on that strong recommendation. As a chef (not Chinese, but skilled in preparing Chinese cuisine), I expected a better experience. Unfortunately, the food was absolutely terrible. I picked up three different family orders, and none of us could eat the food; it was disappointing that no one had anything positive to say about it. While the staff were personable and polite, that’s the only positive aspect of our visit. This was, without a doubt, the worst Chinese food we have ever had! Plenty of parking as no one was there at dinner time and that should have been my 1st clue!
The food is so delicious. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy. My favorite dish is the chicken teriyaki. I have been a regular customer for a few decades. This is the best Chinese food ever. The staff is very friendly and humble.
Songbird
We are new to the area. Very first time visiting here today for takeout. The lady who greeted me and took the order was very polite. Pupu, spring rolls and veggie fried rice - all delicious. Not a single item was disappointing. An infinitely better experience than Wonton's further down Route 16, where we walked out after being ignored for 30 minutes. We'll be back.
Placed my order, they didn’t give proper amount of fried rice. The lady there argued that they did. Even tho they did NOT. I only had one 8oz small box of fried rice. She argued it was a 16oz. Told me nothing she can do and hung up. Also, extremely limited menu, you can’t split a bill at checkout. Very odd. Shame, used to be good. Guess not so much any more…
China Chef
First time in The front of house gentlemen was perfect, I ordered pupu for 2 and dinner general's chix the gen chix only 4 small pieces of chicken. I paid $43 for lunch meal portions when I paid for dinner this was way way way over priced for the little food they put in this was the biggest rip-off. Plus the food is extremely bland. I love Chinese food but this place sorry to say failed me horribly wrong. I'll dont know if I'll honestly go back to even try again. The food supposed to keep people not push them away.
The atmosphere is very clean, welcoming and a bit retro The service was warm, courteous and professional. I started with a cup of wonton soup that was very tasty, warm, and yummy 😋 ! The luncheon plate I ordered was delicious, flavors perfect, also the house lo-mein was amazing. I left there full with enough key overs for myself and my husband for a light lunch. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend eating here. The owners really focus on providing a great dining experience and strive for satisfied customers!
