Bridgeton China Express
This place is legit!!! Found it by chance, and decided to check it out. It’s a small restaurant, with 3 tables and 4 chairs each. What I really enjoyed about this place is, quick service, and amazing prices!! $8.50 for a combo fried rice large!!! Sign me up. I also noticed, their prices have stood firm. The prices from. 3 years ago, are still current today. Gotta respect that. Support your local mom and pop shop. Also, they have an “A” rating with the health department, another plus! They definitely providing a service to the community
My favorite Chinese place in town. It's not fancy - there are only three tables at this little hole in the wall. But the food is tremendous. Good serving sizes, reasonable prices, and the consistency is locked in. Try this place, you will love it.
Big L Chop Suey
I had the best experience I've had in a long time. The food was hot, very well seasoned, they bought my food to the car because of the weather, the didn't hesitate to help. The price was terrific. I called in and was greeted with nothing bit the best service.
Potstickers are delicious and come with a dipping sauce. I got mine steamed. Portions are generous, and it tastes exactly how you would expect Chinese takeout to taste! Delish. And the combos come with a soda. I Will be going back!
Oriental Chop Suey
Ordered the Orange chicken dinner (with 2 crab ragoons and a Vess can soda). The main dish was nice, nothing to special about it. There was little pieces of broccoli with the chicken. I thought it came with pork fried rice (which I selected) but it was just regular fried rice. I dont think Crab Ragoons are supposed to look like and taste like a conglomerate mess of bull. I dont know what I expected. The dinners also doesn’t come with fortune cookies anymore :( Theres also a ridiculous convenience fee for almost $2 that I had to pay even though I ordered take out online
They have new owners but their food is good, hot. And seasoned well. They are very busy at lunchtime, so try not to call them between noon and 1 pm. It's faster to just go there or order online. My veggie St Paul was delicious.
Young's Chinese Restaurant
Hidden gem! One of the best take our establishment’s I’ve been too for a while. If you staying close to the airport and want authentic STL Chinese food. Here you go!
Very good quality food and customer experience as far as Saint Louis Chinese restaurants go. This is made to order restaurant, if you don't request extra veggies, meat or sauce you get the normal portions and seasoning. Many people expect it (the order) to be perfect without telling the wok chef anything. That's just doesn't help. This restaurant makes very flavorful delicious dishes; and I enjoy their fried rice, egg foo young, and lo mein chow mein.. My father mentioned the protein is not tender enough for him. ( He is 82, no dentures, and needs to chop his meals up.) The price of everything in the food industry has gone up. Young's is worth the price as of right now. Please give them a try, even if just visiting Saint Louis near the airport.
Saint Louis Kitchen (St Louis Kitchen on Natural Bridge)
I ordered and enjoyed black pepper chicken combo during lunch time. The meal was $7.55 before taxes. The plate had a generous amount of both fried rice and chicken. Perfectly sauced and seasoned but overcooked and dry meat. Service was great. I left Saint Louis years ago and this is the first place I've visited in years. I'd recommend it to everyone.
Why is it so dirty? There’s junk in customer facing areas & I could bet if they were in a different neighborhood it would be cleaner. looking past the mess, there was medicine bottles all over the place. They cut the chicken in half and count it as an individual piece which is definitely not cool. The chicken had a funny taste & color to it. I ordered teriyaki chicken and assumed it would be boneless with rice but it was the same chicken pieces battered and deep fried tossed in sauce. The sauce was good. The vegetable fried rice had a lot of veggies at the top the rice could use some flavor sesame or five spice- my opinion. The St. Paul was good you can’t go wrong with an egg. I won’t be returning after seeing that they sit the chicken on the floor and who knows how long it’s been there what’s running around. I should have canceled the order then. The veggies were the best part.
