Noodle Story小面故事
Stumbled into here and it was wonderful. Service was great. Food tasted incredible. Everything was perfect until they accidentally give us the wrong dish. They added it to our bill without telling us - which i thought was crazy. We asked them to take it off our bill and they did. A little odd to do that, but it was and delicious nonetheless. I would recommend here!
Fast Wok
Really amazing place with great prices!!! I walked away with what felt like 5lbs of food for only 12$! They're really quick too, as well as great at helping you decide what to order. They typically offer free samples as well!
Their orange chicken was amazing. A little work on the fried rice though.
Wonton King
I ordered Wonton King through DoorDash and one of the items I ordered was the spring rolls. I took a bite into the spring roll and realized the texture was strange, so I cut into it and realized the meat inside was completely raw. I called the restaurant and she said it contained shrimp and pork. I am absolutely shocked to have been delivered spring rolls with raw meat and would not recommend anyone to go to this restaurant.
Great Chinese restaurant. I had the orange chicken, and the flavor was very good. There is a little too much sauce for my liking, but it's definitely good. Wonton soup was good.
Cate Zone Chinese Cuisine
Upon arrival you’ll find Cate Zone unassumingly located next to a Dierbergs, don’t let the location fool you, Cate Zone is not one of your standard Chinese takeouts, and offers significantly higher quality Chinese cuisine than one might expect. The staff are friendly and swift to greet and seat. Compared to the U City location, the Chesterfield location has a much roomier dining room that makes their decor pop. I ordered sweet and sour pork, braised pork belly, Chengdu chicken, Kung Pao chicken. The sweet and sour pork had a nice thick and light crisped fried layer and a healthy coat of sweet and sour sauce that paired well with the pork, the braised pork belley was succulent, well seasoned, and almost melted in my mouth, the Chengdu chicken also had a light crisp to the fry and was well seasoned and had mala chili oil aroma of Sichuan pepper and red chili pepper, the Kung Pao chicken was a little sweet and lighter on the mala than I would expect, but none the less far superior than many Kung Pao chicken dishes you’ll find in the area. I also ordered a Mapo Tofu to go, which made for a nice late night mala delight. You’ll be pleasantly surprised with anything you try at Cate Zone.
This place is much more spacious and quieter than the other one in Olivr and has no wait. They can accommodate bigger groups (with the cute turning table😙), and foodwise I think it's same (quality/quantity) as the other place - both are SO GOOD. Definitely try sweet and sour pork, mala stir fry, and sizzling eggplants🤤 I can eat here everyday
Cate Zone Chinese Cafe
The skewers are their new dishes. Tastes so good. The spicy boiled chili oil fish is their recommended dish. Even it is oiled it tastes soft and not too spicy. I like the fried sweet potato very crispy. Overall good. It seems popular cuz it has limited space. I waited 30mins to sit. Expected during weekend dinner time. The server is very nice.
GOD I LOVE CATE ZONE! It’s the perfect cozy food for a cold day. I always get the braised pork belly rice and the sizzling tofu. My boo ordered a beef dish and the sweet and sour pork. All dishes were DELICIOUS! Service was great as always and the ambiance is cute :) just make sure you get there early cause it books up fast!
Chong Wah Restaurant
I live out of state, so I haven’t been to Chong Wah in 20 years. I was on my way to Fulton, Missouri and had to make a pit stop in St. Louis to get me some fried rice at my old stomping ground. Ooo, wee, was my Special Fried Rice delicious! I couldn’t even get back on the road! I devoured the box in my lap in the parking lot! Only thing different was that they have individual red pepper packets in plastic instead of the hand-creased and folded parchment paper. I miss those little nostalgic packets. Thanks for some great food and great memories.
Was craving some noodles so I randomly stopped here and ended up having a cheap, good meal. I didn't know it was cash only but I had 5 bucks so I got noodles and pork. I was a quarter short but they said it was ok, which was very nice. Ended up with a generous serving of pork and noodles in a tasty broth and couldn't be more satisfied.
Lu Lu Seafood & Dim Sum
We had a family dinner of 9 people so we wanted to talk and visit. We ordered Dim Sum and appitizers and waited to order dinner till we almost finished our starters. Everything was very good, hot and our server was great. There was plenty of food for everyone. Clean restaurant, friendly staff, great food, nice atmosphere, what more could.you want?
So visiting from out of town and want to try the local Chinese food here. Since St. Louis knocked down their chinatown for Busch stadium, the chinese have moved to university place on olive Street. Looking at prices online, some of these Chinese resturant prices were abnormally high. Most dishes should run around the 15 to 20 range but alot of resturant here running 30 to 40. Plus alot closed on Sunday oddly. This place was open Sunday, good pricing, and had dim sum. Plus it doesn't look like a take out only place. I was very very suprised by this place. All the dishes were quite good and flavored nicely. the flower tea, although 2.45, was definitely worth it. The shumai was quite big for the portion, as well as the dishes. My non Chinese friends were impressed. What also good was the service. Always prompt with water or explaining dishes. The decor is also very Chinese and authentic which I love. You can tell it's been here awhile. Pricingvwas very good as for 3 dishes and 1 dim sum and tea, the bill was $56. Parking is also plentiful and their store hours are quite good. I won't even bother with the other resturants and will go this weekend for the dim sum. Great place for simple Chinese. If you are expecting fancier, pay more or go somewhere else but this is how authentic Chinese food is. It's hit or miss depending on times.
Chinese Express
I can’t believe I drove to this in rush hour traffic after work jst to get home and food is hard as a brick. I couldn’t even bite into the egg roll. The rice was over cooked. My egg foo young is literally burnt. Smh the St paul is also burnt. I spent $45 on this mess. I’m so upset. I will never even drive past this place again. This is a waste of my hard earned money. They didn’t even care how they jst tossed the food in the box. Now I have to spend more money for something to eat somewhere else because we are hungry, this food is not edible at all. Thanks a lot.
The food was overcharged, My whole wings look like party wings and they was Overcooked. My gravy was watered down. And my rice has no seasoning. I will not waste my time and my money never ever again going back there...
Hunan Empress
While the choices here are pretty standard, everything is delicious and made with love. This place is a St Louis institution. Perfect for a casual night out.
It was great. The general tso chicken was sweet and just a hint of spice. The crab Rangoon was crispy and full of filling. The egg roll was so fresh and the fried rice was delicious with carrots and onions. Will be back. Yum
Ferguson Chop Suey
Ferguson chop suey does have good rice. I've eaten here several times. My problem with them is they charge you to us your own debit card,so I recommend taking cash. The chicken wings are horrible, in my opinion. The service is good. The wait time can be a little bit timely.
Do not go there. I had a large order of deluxe fried rice. I only had 2 shrimp in the entire container. I also ordered a small shrimp fried rice and again only had 2 shrimp in the container. That's so crazy because that little tiny shrimp is not that expensive. The rice is just ok. No eggs and no bean sprouts. Very little meat.
Lam's Garden
Egg roll was nice, crab rangoon dry and skimpy on the filling, spicy Sichuan chicken wasn't spicy or numby, very little flavor. Sparce and dated interior. Extremely friendly staff. We also had orange chicken that was as expected.
My husband introduced me to Lam’s, this has been our go-to even when we moved further away. However, the price has been climbing and portions getting so much smaller. Spent almost $40 on a combo plate, veggie steamed rice, and 2 orders of fried chicken wings. You get 3 very tiny wings for almost $6. Side order of meat in teeny tiny boxes, also almost $6. Very disappointed, not worth the trip anymore.
Northland Chop Suey
I rated a 2 star this time is because I found a long strand of black hair in my rice. I pulled it from my mouth. My hair is medium length , color cajun spice. Please wear a hair net when cooking and preparing the food. I’ve never experienced this before here.
I usually get a happy box and it's 😋 yummy if u like St Paul's it's the pattie with gravy and fried rice... so it serves for both...it was loaded with meat also...crab Rangoon are delish and hot wings hit too..every now n then I get a kabob... variety is my thing.
