China Palace Restaurant
Got the “combination I” wanting some chow main and some sweet and sour pork. Neither hit the spot. The chicken chow mein is like a thick soup that comes with a packet of grocery store fried noodles, like most restaurants give you for free with soup. Super bland flavor and like 3 small pieces of chicken resting on top of the liquid. The pork was fried and was decent but there was 4 small fried pieces 1 of which was all tendon and bone. Again super bland sauce. The rice was PLENTIFUL. But again just no flavor. It was fried but had nothing in it to bring flavor and tasted like slightly oily steamed rice. I feel bad writing such a brutal review. The woman at the front was decently nice. But honestly each individual good item was one of the worst like it I’ve ever had. Credit where it is due: the food was very hot and fresh.
I got a #12 lunch special and an order of the steamed dumplings. Cost came out to just under $19. The amount of food I got was a ton! Definitely worth the $$. The dumplings were by far the best I have had. Huge size and tasted great! Not a fan of the egg roll. It tasted like it had been rolled in sugar prior to being deep fried. Came off pretty sweet. The sesame chicken was good. Really liked the coating on the chicken. Sauce was ok. Not super spicy but chicken was a little dry. Nothing special about the fried rice. It’s like they just put white rice in the wok with some soy sauce and an egg. No real taste. Would be better if they put just a couple of peas or carrots with some seasonings. I will go back just for the dumplings!!
Peking Gourmet
The best General Tso Chicken I've eaten in years. I swear the favor of boldness, sweet and spice was perfect. The hot mustard was put to good use on the pork fried rice. Yummy 😋.
I had take out today, and it was as good as usual. They give a very generous portion of food for your money.
Star Wok
I wish they had an option to give 0 stars. My guest and I got food poisoning from eating at this place. They serve your food on styrofoams. The restaurant appeared filthy. The food was taste less. The only thing we tasted was the burnt hot oil. They need to do better.
Like breakfast, I didn't think you could screw up Chinese food. Our experience with their food proved me wrong. The fried rice is more like brown rice with nothing to it (do not pay extra for it). The cheese puffs have zero flavor, except for the oil from the fry. The egg foo young looked like.....and it was not good. The sesame sauce was OK, but not much flavor elsewhere...same with the chow mein. The portions were small and relatively expensive, but it filled us, and that is about all I can say. The 3.9 stars are generous.
