Great Wall Chinese Restaurant
I have been going to the Great Wall Restaurant since 2005 and this is my first time reviewing. Initially in 2005 it was amazing, but after I visited China in 2015, I did not enjoy the food here as much. I believe the quality went down and things were bland. However, we got this now in 2025 and I have to say things really returned back to the roots and it was good. The vegetable delight had the vegetables with some texture and crunch making that dish disappear between everyone in the group. The lo main noodles were a great texture and the sauce was well balanced. Highly recommend checking it out if you have not gone there and if you stopped going, go back. They are a great restaurant supporting Ypsilant.
I'm not quite sure what happened on Christmas Eve, but it was a terrible experience. We knew because it was Christmas Eve that they'd be busy. For that reason, we ordered at 515p. I was told it would be an hour or a little more before it was ready. No problem with that. When I went to pick up the food, the place was packed. Again, no problem. I'm glad they had the business. However, long story short, it was that crowded because people were waiting literally hours for their food. I arrived around 625p to pick up my order (which was placed at 515p) and finally left at 745p. I'm not sure if they were overwhelmed with orders or what happened, but they need to look into their process on Christmas Eve. Kudos to the cashier. She was swamped with helping folks as well as dealing with a number of impatient customers. She kept her cool and looked to be doing as good as she could in this circumstance. This is my usual go-to Chinese restaurant. But I may have to avoid it next Christmas Eve.
Lucky 7 Chinese Food
This place is a swing and a miss for me. I like their rice but I got food poisoning last time I ordered. I think it was the chicken broccoli, My boyfriend got food poisoning the time before that from their pork. The food was tasty enough but proceed with caution...
Ordered fried rice and was given extremely dry white rice. Also ordered general tso’s chicken but the sauce tastes like buffalo wing sauce and not general tso’s? Vegetable spring roll was decent but just didn’t taste right. Crab Rangoon was soggy and barely edible. I’m new to town and trying to find a good Chinese place but this was so disappointing.
Lan City Hand Pulled Noodle
This was a hit! The perfect place for some authentic hand pulled noodles. We had the Laksa coconut soup with seafood and the Chong Qing noodle with pork. They were both delicious and the portions sizes were massive. I particularly enjoyed the Laksa coconut soup because of how creamy and flavorful the broth was. The service is great too. Highly recommend!
So happy I was able to stop by before leaving Michigan to go home. Our family stopped by for a quick meal on Monday during lunchtime. The place was busy but we got a table right away. Our server greeted us quickly and took drink orders and then our food order. She was helpful when we ordered items, bringing up good points - such as whether the kids wanted cilantro or not. Food came quickly and the texture of the noodles were perfectly chewy and cooked well. The broth of the soup was also well seasoned and not too salty. Oh how I wish I could come again soon.
China Chef
This restaurant offers not only the usual American Chinese dishes but also authentic Chinese cuisine. We ordered salt and pepper spare ribs, stir-fried beef with scallions, sweet and sour squirrel fish, and stir-fried beef chow fun. Every dish arrived piping hot. While nothing was mind-blowingly delicious, everything tasted homey and comforting. They also provided complimentary white rice. Tea and water were self-serve, and after ordering, you pay directly at the counter—no tipping required. That’s quite rare nowadays, considering even bubble tea shops ask for tips! However, the owner was very kind, so we still left a tip on the table. Throughout our meal, customers kept coming in, and everyone seemed to be friends with the owner. Overall, this place is highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be back!
Good and reasonable chinese restaurant that is focused on carry out. You can eat on the premises and they do provide all the utensils (plastic) and condiments that you may need. I got the Sweet and sour chicken. Chicken was fresh and hot , fried rice was good, sauce was plentiful. Very few veggies in the Sweet and sour (which seems to be the default these days). Atmosphere is not very appealing and I recommend you eat at home.
SS China One
I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I'm not the type of person who leaves reviews, but the food was so horrible I had no choice. I hope I don't get sick. I ordered sweet and sour chicken with shrimp fried rice. The worse Chinese food I've ever ate. Please don't waste your money. The egg roll taste like cleaning products, or some type of poison. The chicken seemed raw and the rice was just horrible. I don't understand how this place is still in business.
Look.. I tried. I really did. I gave them so many chances, and the food is still really bad. Like.. If anyone is reading this, please!! Do something! Put some kind of effort into your business. Food tastes old, chicken is stringy and tough, and the sauces are clearly store bought. Like.. are these people actually even Chinese? Because the food they are serving is in no way Chinese, or quality. An embarrassment to their name.
Lucky Garden
Go elsewhere. Tonight I nearly ate a long piece of plastic that was in my food. When I called and asked for a refund I was hung up on twice with no resolution other than more food… yeah, no thanks. Came here regularly, loved it. Then suddenly all fried items were always burnt and dripping with oil. Now they want to act rude with gross food. Won’t go here again.
I come here all the time, I had a pickup order today for literal spring rolls and crab rangoons and there was a piece of plastic in the sauce. I called to get a refund because who wants plastic in their food and honestly the crab rangoons were really over fried. Called to talk to the owner and he was a complete asshole. He hung up on me at first because I guess he did not know what to say. Did not know how to handle business all he said was “we don’t put plastic in the sauce and we don’t give refunds”. Like ok goodnight then I’ll never go there again. The food used to be really good, literally a few months ago I loved it, but the past couple times I’ve been going it’s a disappointment and garbage, but this time it was literal garbage.
Hong Kong Chinese Food
I had ordered chicken with broccoli as I’m eating I found a small bug in food. I immediately take a picture and throw the food away I didn’t even get to really enjoy my food before the bug was found. I called the restaurant to let them know and to get a refund but I was told I can’t get one since I had already thrown the food away even me telling them I have a picture they wouldn’t do anything about it. I would not recommend eating here.
Delicious food!!! I always get the boneless spare rib combo w pork fried rice. They are very generous w the amount of food they provide. Their egg rolls are so good too! Totally recommend 🙂
YPBOR F.M 颐宝筵川菜坊
This is really good authentic Chinese food, I don’t know what the people in these other reviews are going on about. The authentic menu is like 2-3 times the size of their American Chinese selection. Service was good, everyone was friendly. Only thing we didn’t like was the fried rice. Flavor was fine, but had bean sprouts in it which was unexpected. Will be coming back often!
Our experience was fabulous! We were seated pretty much as soon as we came in. Clean tables and environment. Was served our orders at a decent time. Food was phenomenal. We ordered chicken fried rice, veggie lo mein, beer-flavored duck, general tso chicken, black peppered beef! Everything came out delicious. Must try!
China Palace Restaurant
Wow!! The China Palace restaurant is truly spectacular; and the ambience feels very royal. The buffet is very impressive, and I ate an assortment of fresh sushi, shrimp, clams, mussels, blue crab, fish, salmon, egg, drop soup, and many other enjoyable entrées. The squid was also quite delightful. Overall, this is by far the most gourmet Chinese buffet restaurant that I have eaten at in the state of Michigan, and it rivals the best of the best and culinary arts that I have frequently encounter in Washington DC. If you have a hankering for some really good Chinese food, I recommend coming to this China Palace restaurant. I drove 120 miles each way, and it was very worth it!
“My friends and I went to China Place restaurant for dinner, but upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that all the food was gone, with no refills available. Despite asking twice for a refill , our requests were completely ignored. Given this experience, I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone—don’t waste your money
