Hunan Town
What an awful restaurant. I don’t like leaving bad reviews but this was…. Terrible. If you want flavorless rice, soggy general tsos, and a nasty egg roll filled with cabbage; this place is for you. Paid $36 for these two entrees. Can’t believe how tasteless it was. I’ll never return.
The food was amazing and the portions were generous. From the number of customers picking up food, I’d have to say they must be really popular. I had been greeted by a very friendly woman who promptly offered to take my order. I told her I was looking for a chinese restaurant to pick up food to eat at my hotel room. The bag weighed a ton, I ordered the sesame chicken dinner combo and an order of pan fried dumplings. It was amazing and there was so much food! I highly recommend this restaurant!
ShiangMi 湘密公馆
What a gem of a restaurant to have here in Michigan! The interior was so inviting, beautiful, and clean. All of the food was savory and fresh without being greasy like a lot of other Chinese restaurants. They had a variety of cocktails although a bit on the pricey side. We ordered the basa fillet, shishito pork, and duck. All the meat wasted fresh and well-seasoned. The fish fell apart in the mouth like butter. The pork dish had a perfect spice level. The crepes that came for wrapping the duck were thin and well-executed. The service was attentive, and atmosphere elegant and quiet. We really enjoyed a long meal here. Would highly recommend for a date night or family gathering!
The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, from the tablecloths to the chandeliers everything brought an elevated atmosphere to the space. However, that was the only enjoyable aspect. The food was extremely overpriced for the portion sizes. I had read this in prior reviews but was willing to forgive this if the food was high quality. Unfortunately that was not the case. We ordered the chef special set sauteed green beans, the cumin lamb and rice for each. The rice was fine, certainly nothing to write home about. The green beans were similar, definitely the best part of the meal which isn't saying much. It was something that could have easily been made at home and tasted like it didn't incorporate any fresh spices whatsoever. The cumin lamb was an utter disappointment. The lamb had a horrendous texture. Completely overcooked and to me, tasted as though it had been cooked from frozen. My dining partner compared it to Taco Bell meat. The sauce was similarly lacking, but honestly the texture alone was enough to make it impossible to finish. $28 for maybe a cup of meat that was honestly inedible. We both chose to stop eating well before we were full out of concern for the quality of meat. Finally, the service. I would not have had a complaint about this if it wasn't for how our concerns about the lamb were handled. My dining partner and I are not the type to complain, however I did want to mention something in case this was a one off event. When we raided our concerns, she immediately responded with a dissimissive "that's how it always tastes. I've had it myself. It's always like that". There was no follow up with the kitchen much less the manager. I didn't expect a discount considering we had both attempted to eat it, but to dismiss someone's concerns about the quality of meat without double checking it at all is absolutely baffling to me and raises concerns about their standards for health and quality. I am a cook professionally so it was also extremely frustrating to be treated like I didn't know what lamb was supposed to taste like. Update: me and the person I had dinner with both felt sick the next day. I threw up, had to take the day off work, and spent most of the day in bed. Don't go there. Just don't.
Sushi Ko Farmington Hills
Great Mum and Pop owned restaurant! Very chill and quiet atmosphere here for lunch. Ordered the katsu don that was fantastic in terms of both quality and quantity. Their salad was probably one of the best I’ve ever had at a Japanese restaurant - not too sour, great level of sweetness. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a low key place to get full
The chicken sushi roll and dragon roll were really good. Both were fresh and packed with flavor. Definitely recommend
Akshaya Patra Indian Cusine
I always have a great experience at this restaurant! The food is consistently delicious, and my favorite dish is the fish biryani—it’s flavorful and perfectly cooked. The service is excellent, and the manager is very welcoming and attentive. Highly recommended!
I went here with my friend for the first time a few days ago. I must say I was VERY pleased with the customer service we received. They made sure to greet us warmly and answered any questions we had kindly. They even checked that the food was to our liking (example: spice preference) and even took it back to the kitchen to make requested amends. I got the chicken tikka masala and my friend got the butter chicken. We both enjoyed our meal and will definitely come back!
Saroki's Crispy Chicken & Pizza
This is my second time having Saroki's, first time at this location. I didn't try the chicken, got the loaded fries instead. They were fresh, and tasty, but there was hardly any chicken and too much sauce. Their pizza is okay, the service was good. They are a little pricey.
I signed up for their rewards and they gave me $3 off coupon so I was like cool lets try it. I got the two piece white combo with mashed potatoes. I ordered it online so that it would be ready when I got there but arrived about 10-15 minutes and it wasn’t ready yet. While I waited, I ended up getting a slice of supreme pizza which was not good at all. It looked and tasted old. It looked old when I ordered but I just assumed they a little warm up process to bring it back to life. The chicken was decent. Not the best in the world but not nasty at all. The mash was cool. Not in a rush to go back but I wouldn’t count them out.
SOUPDIVE
Since my family trying to get me to eat because I’m in Michigan for my father’s funeral I decided I’ll try some Soup Dives. I used to love it when I lived here! The gumbo was my favorite. I ordered a 16ounce of gumbo(that I just threw in the trash) the gravy was so d*** thick I think they got it from a Chinese food place! I got my rice on the side. They gave me a 4 ounce cup of rice to go with a 16 ounce gumbo. Oh and did I mention my shrimp were d*** near raw! However I called before I even opened the gumbo because I was really confused on the amount of rice to with a 16 ounce container of soup. The lady who answered the phone who I believe was the owner phone etiquette was very rude. She was more confrontational and definitely gave off “I don’t care… it is what it is” vibe. I politely told her I would never order again. Since someone picked up the food for me I didn’t know what was in the bag. But if the person who picked up the food had told me her recent experiences and the attitude of the owner I would have never ordered from them.
The food here is definitely made with love and soul. It's great customer service. They have recently upgraded their space, and I love it. It's one of the places you can go to late and still get an amazingly great tasting meal. I've had the salmon chowder, the turkey chop sandwich (delicious), and the homemade dressings are too live for. This is definitely a staple for lunch and now dinner.
Mitzi's Carry Out
The service & atmosphere was excellent.. very clean! but the taste of the food wasn’t.. it’s actually know taste..I’ve tried the food a couple of times and it gives me a headache every time.. I Will not be going back.
I go here almost everyday now I love fried rice and I get the vegetable fried rice or chicken friend rice with extra spice add some soy sauce and the yellow sauce and it’s amazing also the crab rangoons are really good and great price. All around good service. Not sure what the reviews are talking about but if you add spice when ordering the food is amazing
