Fortuna Inn
Friendly staff, and great food! Food is always made to order and fresh. My toddler is very picky but will always eat here. My whole family loves Fortuna!
When I still lived in MI I loved coming here. They had the best Chinese food! Now that I live out of state, I come here anytime I’m in MI and I’m disappointed. My almond chicken, egg roll & wonton soup were good, not great, but the chicken fried rice is terrible now. Their fried rice used to b my go-to but they’ve changed it to this flavorless mess, I didn’t even bother eating it. Very disappointing!
Dragon Town
Best sweet and sour chicken I've ever had. Wish restaurant's would use zasmin rice though, tastes so much better. I hate egg rolls, but there's are really good 👍 great prices. Generous servings. Will definitely look forward to going again when I'm on town.
Food was good. The curry chicken was a little grainy, maybe too much powder, but there were lots of good veggies, which isn’t common. Sweet and sour pork, very good. Typical, but satisfying. Szechuan shrimp, outstanding flavor and perfect spice/heat. Egg roll, spring roll, and shrimp roll all on the small side but tasty. Negative - no house mustard, only the tasteless packets. Shrimp fried rice also standard but good. Samenwi tv the egg drop soup. Don’t look at the website for prices. It was way out of date. The prices in store were almost double. Overall, you will like the food. It’s typical American Chinese food, so it delivers what you’d expect.
China House
To summarize the food was not good and the service was just ok. I ordered almond chicken, which actually came topped with thin sliced almonds and was served on a bed of lettuce, but the chicken was very greasy looking and the gravy was not quite right. The rice had no meat or egg in it at all, and was bland with no flavor, except that it tasted like it was fried in a dirty wok. They may advertise that it is vegetable fried rice, so I don't hold the lack of meat in it against them; I did not look at the menu before ordering. I am used to the yellow chicken gravy that has a strong garlic flavor, so maybe this is just my personal preference. The almond chicken has a lot of fat in it and was of questionable quality. The chicken also tasted like it was fried in dirty, or excessively used, grease. The rice also had this flavor, so I am seeing a pattern of questionable cooking habits. The egg roll was also greasy but did not taste like it was fried in the same vat as the chicken. However, it was not that good either. It was also bland and even some of my low-sodium soy sauce from my fridge did not help it. Kim's Gardens in Novi was the best, so I am comparing this place to my very high standards. It is too bad that Kim's had such bad owners, and it is probably good that it burned down; although it is tragic that those people had to die in the fire for us to discover that the owners were slave laborers.
Love this location! Best Chinese food I've had as take out. Food is also always fresh. I've had their shrimp lomein, shrimp fried rice, chicken with snow peas, Singapore noodles, beef w/Chinese vegetables and General Tao's chicken. I recommend all of the dishes I've tried thus far.
