Super Crab
Food is really good, a big portion and always ready on time. Staff is friendly and online ordering is very convenient.
So it's a take out place, basically. But really quick preparation, friendly service, and the quality of the Chinese food we purchased is better than most. Exceeded expectations. If you are looking for a Chinese takeout fix, this place should be high in the list. Also, really good portions for a borderline cheap price.
Young's Chinese Food Carryout
The fried rice was good but the crab rangoons were so bad I only ate two and threw the rest out. Also $3 for a single spring roll is just too much.
Best Chinese food I have had in years, my go to spot for Chinese shut down a while back, since then I've tried different Chinese restaurants, none of them hit the mark,,, I started leaning more to Thai food because of the lack of good chinese, I stumbled across Youngs and I'm so glad I did, Youngs has the Right recipe, I'm an 80s baby, this food taste like the Chinese I had as a kid, establishment is nice and clean, staff is kind a friendly, to my understanding, they have been in business since 1992, if your looking for Chinese food done the right way,,, Try Youngs...
SHINthai
Came in to eat for the first time w a friend who swears by it. I ordered fresh rolls, basil fried rice and veggie pad Thai w extra egg. Didn’t get extra egg and nothing had flavor? I also ordered it in medium and there was no spice in either dish so I literally cannot come back. The place was clean and staff friendly but no I’m sorry I specifically asked how hot medium was bc I’d never been and he said spicy so I ordered it just for them not to do it. We spent $78 + $10 tip.
We took takeout from SHIN thai. The tom yum soup was a bit disappointing. But Basil fried rice and gang gai were surprisingly outstanding! The flavours and spices were on point. The food might be a little bit spicy, but it was very satisfying. Would go for a dine in soon
Detroit Eatery
The food is delicious here! We ordered their Asian Fried Rice w/ Steak, NY style Chicken & Lamb, Beef patty & fries. I asked for spicy fried rice and it was on point! This place is worth the hype, thank you! Awesome service and amazing place to try out great dishes!! Definitely recommend this place and for sure, I am coming back again soon!!

Kacha Thai Market
Kacha Thai Market in Royal Oak is a fantastic spot for vegan Thai food! Their Thai Basil Fried Rice was flavorful and well-spiced, and the Green Curry (Kaeng Kiew Wan) was incredibly creamy and delicious—one of the best I’ve had. The menu has plenty of great options, and everything tasted fresh and authentic. Parking is available street-side (paid) or in the nearby parking structure, where the first two hours are free. Definitely worth a visit if you’re craving amazing vegan-friendly Thai cuisine!
Wonderful family run restaurant with authentic food and flavor in the heart of Royal Oak. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options. Good portion dishes with very reasonable prices.
Jim Brady's Royal Oak
Absolutely loved my experience here! The owner is truly exceptional — welcoming, attentive, and clearly passionate about creating a great atmosphere for guests. The environment is top-notch, with a vibe that’s both cozy and vibrant, perfect for any occasion. And the drinks? Even better! Creative, well-balanced, and crafted with real care. Whether you’re out for a casual night or celebrating something special, this place hits all the right notes. Highly recommend! Get the carrot cake!!
My parents come here often since it’s close to their house near Downtown Royal Oak. There’s never an issue finding a spot at the bar here and the bartenders are always great. Food can be a miss sometimes, but it seems like they’ve been doing better lately and adding fun specials like the bahn mi sandwich and steak tips. My mom and I are obsessed with their Caesar salad and would come here just because we’re craving it.
Saab Sis Thai
Summary: fantastic food for the price, great cozy environment, very quick service. My new favorite Thai restaurant. Get the Khao Soi. Location and ambiance: Super cozy, exposed brick, short ceilings and lots of natural light from large windows. Cutesy decor. Across the street from a large parking structure so you avoid the curb side sentry mobile parking. Food and drink: delicious “comfort” food. Get the Khao Soi. Hands down, full stop. Best way to describe it is a fusion Asian Indian ramen. Slow stewed half chicken in a masaman curry (coconut milk) based soup with rice noodles and egg noodles, green onion, cilantro, and on the side: red onion, pickle relish, lime and chili oil. The chicken was so tender, you could pull it off the bone with chop sticks 🤤 Other items we had included dumplings, green curry and Thai Tea. All of those were delicious as well. Service: The restaurant definitely busy when we got there, pretty sure we had the last seats available (6:15p). Service was prompt and as expected. Consider getting a reservation. Accessibility: I would not recommend visiting if you have mobility issues, there’s no ramp as far as I could tell. No wheelchair access. It’s in the basement of a church so you have to take steps down into it. Get it take out instead and sit on a nearby bench and enjoy it outside.
Drop by on a hunger whim one Sunday. Had a chicken curry dish which I requested as mild. Unfortunately it was too spicy 🔥🥵 to enjoy initially. But they gave me more coconut milk to ease the intensity. This helped a great deal as I could actually taste the flavor. The downside was I had to mix it myself. I felt the dish was prepared in error at medium level & the should reworked it in the back & re-presented. Nonetheless, the place is small, cute, & serves traditional Thai drinks which are delicious 😋. The service is also friendly. Recommend a stop by if in the area & you're a fan of spicey food.
Penn's Thai Kitchen
I stopped in based on reviews and I wasn't disappointed. The restaurant was clean and brightly lit, and I was seated and my order taken right away. I got the pineapple rice with shrimp lunch portion, and it was more than I could eat. I asked for no spice and it was perfect, deliciously seasoned but with no heat (and lots of fried egg, which I particularly enjoy). I also liked the Tom Yum soup but it was too spicy for me to eat much of it. Highly recommend.
Pad Thai curry sounded nice with beef and spicy. It wasn’t interesting dish. I’ve never had pad Thai curry and it turned out to be exactly what it sounds like pad Thai in curry sauce. It took some getting used to, but I tried to eat it. I think I like noodles that are less creamy and I have no curry. I’d like to be able to taste individual flavors of the vegetables and protein. Won’t be ordering this one again. Quiet on a Tuesday night at dinner time. I like that the menus are at the table and the service was quick and responsive.
Camelia's Mexican Grill
Absolutely delicious. I also enjoy that this establishment was an old Pizza Hut. No one out Pizzas the Hut
i got to say one of the best restaurants i have ever been too, waitress very pleasant, fast and delicious food love love this place big thums up best menudo 😍😍😍😍😍
Panda Express
Staff were really nice. The food choices and food itself were amazing. The pomegranate lemonade was delicious. The environment was really chill and relaxing. Store was really clean.
The food was good but the manager was rude when we came in and was very disrespectful to his employees the entire time we ate. His employees looked miserable due to his constant bossy tone and demeanor.
Chinatown
I almost didn’t stop here because of the reviews. Boy, that would have been a mistake. The lady taking orders was super friendly. The chicken fried rice and hot and sour soup came out fast, hot and really good. I’ll be back.
I usually always order the Almond Chicken with Shrimp Fried Rice, and it is absolutely DELICIOUS! The chicken is always fresh and moist, with a perfectly crispy and hot batter. The brown gravy is rich and flavorful, and the fried rice is spot-on. The shrimp, although an extra cost, are large, fresh-tasting, and definitely worth the upgrade. The egg rolls are amazing too. Every time I order, the food is ready quickly and served hot. The staff is super friendly, and I'm honestly surprised this place has a lower rating on Google. I’ve tried several other dishes here, like the General Tso’s Chicken and Egg Fu Young, and everything has been fantastic. I’m usually picky about Chinese food and almost skipped over China Town because of the reviews, but I’m so glad I gave it a shot. You won’t be disappointed!
Panda Express
It was pretty slow when I walked into this location of Panda Express and I got greeted fairly quickly. Everything on the table looked pretty fresh and they were making new food as I got there. I got my usual order, which was a plate with fried rice, sweet fire chicken, and black pepper angus steak (does have an up-charge but is worth it). The portions weren't as big as I was used to but the food was still really good. The steak entree was also mostly vegetables, but it was still good. The sweet fire chicken is always amazing. The juicy pineapples really add to the flavor. The rice was fluffy and delicious. I tried the apple pie roll for the first time today. That was pretty good. The outside was crisp and sugary, and the inside was soft and warm. Would obviously be better with fresh apples, but for a fast food place, I was pleasantly surprised. Overall a great experience. Will be back again!
This location was mediocre at best. I eat a lot of Panda Express but the veggies were undercooked and the crab Rangoon was greasy beyond greasy as heck. I opened my car door 4 bites into my food and threw up because the quality of it was like jail food.. I was shook. How is this place open? Get new cooks and learn how to cook noodles proper. Unbelievable.
