Golden City Restaurant
I called in my order and the man who answered the phone was extremely kind; ordered the sesame chicken dinner (egg roll and fried rice). When I went to pick it up, there was a short line, but the woman handling the front moved fairly quickly and was nice. My food was warm and yummy overall. The chicken was a little dry though (not sure if it’s the cut or the way it was prepared) and the rice tasted fishy. However, nothing too bad.
I had the lunch special of sweet & sour chicken which also comes with an egg roll. This is a great deal and a substantial amount of food. I liked the sauce which was thicker and the chicken was not overly breaded. Will definitely go back.
Trizest Restaurant
Everything beside the cold appetizer were not good. Crispy squid, the batter is too hard and dry. I don't know how they make it like that. Probably frozen then dump it in the fryer. They do not know how to fry things here. Cumin beef the seasoning wasn't cook all the way through. I think they sprinkle 5 spice powder at the end and therefore you will taste raw seasoning. Service is pretty quick and they check on you but the food is meh. You really have to pick the ones that they have experience in the menu otherwise you will end up wasting some money
Recommend dining in and sharing dishes (family style). A few of my favorites are the Perfume Fish, Crispy Spicy Fried Fish (Dri StriFri Spi Fish), Mapo Tofu, Peapod Tips, Ginger-Garlic Sauce Eggplant (Eggplant w.Ginger G.S), and the Szechuan Green Beans (Sich GN.Bean). They also serve traditional american Chinese like General Tso's Chicken or Beef Lo Mein so there’s something for everyone. We tend to come here for comfort food after a long day of activity to find some balance, but it’s always a great time sharing food with friends! So happy our good friend introduced us to this place and look forward to visiting again soon.
Kung Fu Noodle House
4.67/5 When I walked into Kung Fu Noodle House for dinner, I saw a modest interior and heard that it was operated by a bickering family. I knew the food was going to be delicious. Then I started to drink the tea and I was blown away by how good it was. I'm not even a tea drinker! All the shrimp dim sum dishes that I had were as wonderful as I expected. Please give this business your support.
If you're familiar with dim sum or want to have an authentic experience, then this place is definitely the place to go! They start to get really busy on the weekend from noon to 1:30pm. It's not a big place; the bathrooms are clean. The food was good, not oily (however, certain type of dishes are meant to be oily), not heavily seasoned (you can use the soy sauce & chili oil on the table to adjust the flavor), very generous portion, and the carts go around frequently. I noticed they also have a physical menu to order family style dishes, but you'd definitely have to ask for it. The servers all speak English, though not fluent, so please be respectful and patient. If you speak mandarin or cantonese, then they definitely can respond alot faster. If you know what you like in dim sum, showing photos definitely help, so they can prepare it for you in the kitchen if they're not on the cart. I only took a star off because i wished there were more "sweet" options on the pastry cart, the table was kind of sticky, and it would be helpful to include a spoon with the utensils!
Liang's Oriental Barbeque
Authentic Chinese BBQ. Only 2 places sell Chinese BBQ in metro Detroit I think. Quality is mid at best. Crispy pork is not marinated long enough or thoroughly. Some area of the pork is very bland. Roast duck is more expensive than other cities. $35 for a whole duck. Duck is good, well seasoned inside and out. It is also lean which is opposite of what Chinese people usually prefer but I like it. Cash only
Authentic place. No menu, no sides, no cards, cash only. If you're looking to walk in and get some delicious no frills food this is your place. The duck was fantastic and comes with a nice sauce on the side. It was about $20 for half a duck. Looking forward to trying so more things they offer. No for the faint of heart, they pull the full duck down and chop it up right in front of you. Don't mind the complaining reviews, this place is definitely more old school but worth the stop
Satay House
One extra star for the iconic dish’s good flavor. Otherwise is one star. Very expensive for the Stingy amount. Dry fish soup stinks. the nasi Lama, Hannaies chicken and Malaysia fried noodles are good flavor though. Will not return anymore for the stingy amount and the over price.
Their Nasi Lemak was fantastic. The coconut milk flavor in the rice was distinct and the spicyness of their anchovy sambal was authentic! The prawns in the pasembur was fresh and the dish was in a large portion. The Char Kuey Teow is a must try as well.
