Double Happiness
Always delighted to find Teochew restaurants in the US and it’s always an automatic 5 stars. Double Happiness is a real no frills hole-in-the-wall serving authentic food that tastes like home. The menu is written in English, Vietnamese, Thai 🙂↕️, and Chinese - love to see it! The real star of the meal for me was the fried garlic oil (wish I snapped a pic)… just perfection, I kept reaching for scoop after scoop… it’s a must-add to every dish… trust.
You’re here because of the known food not the atmosphere. It looks the same for many many years. It’s owned by an old couple, it does take a bit of time for ordering. Including cleaning up tables. We always ordered the usual: radish with fried egg and their egg noodles
Lucky Cafe Chinese Restaurant
My favorite Chinese place in Jackson. I’ve been a regular here for a decade and I can’t get enough. It’s the best sweet and sour chicken in town, and the only place around where you can get the giant puffy pan-fried dumplings. Stop on by sometime and maybe I’ll bump into you there ;)
Ordered via door dash. Door dash was quick, polite, and the food was hot. Unfortunately the food was also the most bland and tasteless Chinese food I've had in my adult life. Shockingly bland, like they didn't even use soy sauce in the veg fried rice. I do not recommend.
Asian Eats Chicago
The most delightful vegan pho!! Very rich, enjoyed it immensely!
Honeymoon Cafe
My family and I have been coming here for as long as I could remember. The owner is a very sweet lady! I love coming here and enjoying the food. Best spot if you’re looking for real Chinese food.
Honeymoon cafe is our go-to place for takeout whenever we want Chinese food for lunch or dinner. The food is amazingly delicious. The Salt and Pepper Japanese Tofu is one of our favorites. We have only dined a few times since opening due to limited tables, and parking in Argyle sucks, even for pick-up. I'm surprised they haven't relocated to a better location in the area since the restaurant has been well established. The restaurant hours is incorrect on the menu, but on Google is correct.
Hai Yen Restaurant
Overall Thoughts: This spot has become one of my favorite spots in Argyle for fresh, traditional, and flavorful Vietnamese food at a solid price. Everything I tried was wonderful and the light, aromatic flavors truly hit the spot. The hawaiian leaf sausage is a must have, and they also have a plethora of banh mi options (+ other menu options) that I’m dying to return to try. The food comes out quickly and the staff are super sweet. The inside is very simple and barebones, but spacious and comfortable. Food I tried: - Hawaiian leaf sausage rice paper rolls (4.9/5): The hawaiian leaf sausage is one of the best things I’ve had in awhile. It’s absolutely fire— so juicy and flavorful. - Charbroiled pork skewer banh mi (4.7/5): A very solid and tasty banh mi for a reasonable price- $8. The bread was fresh and airy, the pork was juicy and flavorful, the veggies were sharp and crisp, and the sandwich was well sauced and not dry. - Grilled shrimp vermicelli bowl (4.3/5): Another solid dish that we enjoyed. The shrimp was a little overcooked but the lightly sweet and fishy flavors were on point. — Price (relative to peers): 4.5/5 Food: 4.6/5 Ambience: 4.2/5 Service: 4.8/5 Overall Value: 4.6/5
Went here w my best friend to try something new. Our server was above and beyond. Made lots of suggestions and we had a great time! Food was really good! We will be back! Especially for the egg rolls.
