We have been going to red ruby for 28+ years. Early on and before the pandemic, the food was excellent for a fair price. We usually dined in at that time, but since the pandemic, the quality of food, price and the atmosphere of the pickup area (no sit down option available) has gotten a lot worse. They are also cheating you out of meat. Take the almond chicken. Now take the breading off and you will be amazed how little chicken you are actually getting. I want to be clear, when I say the food has gone down hill, previously it was excellent. Now it is OK to semi good. My other complaint, which brought up above is the atmosphere . It is dark and carpet needs updating and the pay counter for carry out is a make shift area with a plexiglass. We will try Red Ruby again, but not anytime soon. We hoping the standards have improved the next time we go and we can resume ordering food from them.

Worst orange chicken I’ve ever had. It’s supposed to have a spicy orange taste. It’s nothing but an orange colored sauce that resembles “sweet and sour sauce.” The chicken is thickly battered. Omg. If I could give zero stars, it would be zero. And the spring roll is so greasy.

The service was great. I liked that you have a choice of either Chinese or Thai food in one place. I had the Thai Prik Pow fried rice and Thai coffee. Even though the Prik Pow was supposed to be Thai flavored, it tasted like Chinese fried rice /w Thai seasonings on top and big chunks of basil. The atmosphere is peaceful with the background meditation like music and multiple waterfalls but a little cluttered in some areas and vacant looking in others. The bar area is inaccessible in its current state and should be opened to customers despite not being used often as it is still a feature of the establishment and alcohol is still being offered.

This is a fabulous place! I hadn’t been here since it changed hands from the Rose Garden. It HAS changed hands, and it’s now a Thai /Chinese restaurant. It’s definitely the best of both worlds anywhere within a thirty miles radius. Papaya salad? They have it! But that’s just the beginning. The spices are authentic and everything is fresh. I can’t believe I waited this long.

We ordered from the telegraph location in Dearborn heights! It's a big building right behind red lobster. You can't miss it! The food made it home hot and neatly. No spills in the bag thankfully. The portions are huge... literally one order can feed 2 to 3 people easily. I ordered the combination plate of pepper steak and substituted the rice for the lo mein. And I did of crab Rangoon. It came with a huge veggie spring roll and a nice warm big piece of a dinner roll. I'm so happy I decided to order from here. And as for the taste.... it was delicious 😋

Review of Hong Kong Restaurant As a resident just a two-minute stroll away, I was excited to check out the newly opened Hong Kong Restaurant, especially with their appealing lunch special priced at just nine dollars. I had high hopes for a delicious meal, envisioning a delightful experience filled with authentic flavors. However, my visit turned out to have its share of highs and lows, leading to a rather varied impression. To start, I received over 2 pounds of food, which includes the egg roll—a decent portion size for a lunch special. However, I'd prefer to pay slightly more for better-quality meals. Beginning with the egg roll, I found it quite disappointing—unquestionably the worst I've encountered. Unfortunately, it was soggy and mushy, having been left to sit in its box without any separate packaging. The texture was unappealing, and the filling lacked any discernible flavor, making for a rather bland experience. On a brighter note, the fried rice exceeded my expectations; it was delicious and enjoyable. However, I wished there had been more of it, as my portion felt limited in comparison to the generous serving of sesame chicken due to the portion where the rice was set, the container is a three compartment container therefore, it looks like there’s a decent amount of rice, but there really is not. Speaking of the sesame chicken, while it was decent, it certainly didn’t impress. The chicken was particularly tough and difficult to chew, and the sauce deviated from the classic flavors I typically associate with sesame chicken. Overall, I wouldn't consider ordering it again The sesame chicken was quite frankly disgusting. I eat, maybe five pieces of it and just because of how tough the meat was it just wasn’t worth eating more of it. Despite my reservations about the food, I was genuinely pleased with the customer service. The young woman working there was respectful, kind, and welcoming, which made my visit much more pleasant. Her positive demeanor gives me hope to revisit and explore other menu items, such as the chicken and broccoli, which I’m curious to try. In summary, if you are in search of excellent fried rice, this may be the spot for you. Yet, I remain uncertain about returning for the egg rolls or sesame chicken. Here’s to hoping for a better experience on my next visit!

We came in a group of 9 and the staff was welcoming and warm. Our meal was excellent. We had both sushi and hot pot. The hot pot truly worth the experience. Comfort food on a cold winter night! Delicious. The mango sticky rice was amazing. We ordered 3!! The Thai iced tea was lovely too.

Amazing ! Our waiter was litteraly the best ! Welcoming, caring, always smiling ! The best ! And all the employees were so nice too. We had the hot pot and it was perfect. Everything was fresh, the broth and sauce had a lot of flavors. I highly recommend this restaurant ! 10/10

We ordered from Lums last night for dinner, and wow I am impressed. Our take out order was ready as indicated when we ordered. The portions are very large and that's awesome because now I will have coolest lunch for a couple days. My kids even enjoyed their meals which is rare because they are in the picky eater stage of life. Everyone enjoyed this meal and I'm thrilled to have leftovers. We will definitely order again and highly recommend to others. Oh, and they gave us this pretty awesome calendar for the new year! Thank you!

Been a few years getting my all time favorite ABC it's Almond Boneless 🐔 Chicken 😋. The mega stuffed container with about three Chicken Breasts deep fried crispy Love 💯😋. Mega portion of Fried Rice, Egg Roll and marvelous sauce to smother da Chicken 😋 OMG. I ate two full meals, outstanding Delicious Wowed on the cheap. So Happy to see Stephanie and husband doing great, wish the dining room would reopen. Maybe not in my lifetime, Please at least let the customers come inside to order and pickup. It's four years past COVID and not another restaurant still does this. Wife had a quart of fantastic Chicken Noodle Soup only $4 a mega Deal 😁💯. A customer for decades only the very best in Metro Detroit area. I actually used door dash for this order but I can review the important thing everyone wants to know about... The food! The Szechuan chicken was cooked perfectly, the chicken and veggies were the perfect texture and when I opened the box I was excited it looked fabulous, then I tried a bite... Wow, what a letdown. It had ABSOLUTELY NO FLAVOR AT ALL!!! It tasted like boiled chicken and veggies (except it was in no way rubbery or anything like boiled chicken is. ) The texture and technique is OBVIOUSLY PERFECT, seasoning leaves MUCH to be desired! Teriyaki chicken was exactly the opposite, it didn't look like much, but MY GOODNESS WAS IT AMAZING!! Not salty at all like some teriyaki dishes can be but, sweet, tangy and delicious! The chicken was just as tender as it was in the other dish and the seasoning was on every piece of chicken and every onion! The fried rice that came with each combination was good too. Also tasted better than it appeared it was going to. My only suggestion there would be to add some veggies or something to it. This was literally just fried rice with chicken. I've had many kinds of fried rice that have had bean sprouts, maybe a few carrots, or peas and some onion, a scrambled egg in some I've had. But this one was just rice and CC chicken. The egg rolls were a bummer for me, I don't know if I chose the wrong kind but they had no description of what each kind was and I ended up with cabbage egg rolls. I was hoping for the bean sprout kind and although they were cooked perfectly I prefer the other kind. They were still very delicious but they're my favorite part of Chinese food and I will choose a restaurant based on nothing but the egg rolls! Lastly Crab Rangoon - the most disappointing part, so overcooked it was difficult to bite into, had to break the burnt corners off and then the inner crust was super chewy from overcooking and the filling (or what was left of it) was the texture of overcooked eggs.

I tried it for the first time through Uber eats. My husband did not like the gravy it was light and had no flavor. I didn't like the sweet and sour chicken because it was 90% batter and 10% chicken. And the chicken that I did get most of it was tough and overcooked. The little sweet and sour sauce was thin and barely covered the chicken. My husband was upset that I didn't order from a place we already go to but I just wanted to try something new. Never again.

I only gave it 3 stars because it was a new guy there I believe his name was Daniel he was a really nice and happy young man really trying his best great customer service skills then here comes Kristin not friendly at all (not even the new guy she was rude )she left me standing at the register while she continued to take orders from the drive in she seem upset because I had points for being a panda member she estimated my total told me around 20.25 took my 20 and said have a nice day my food was still on her side of the counter I come here often because me and my coworker love the food and the service use to be great we all have experience they same rudeness from this young lady we will not be going to this one again mind you it’s of order for 8 people I will be calling cooperate

The worst experience ever. I got there and asked for the order with my customers name. I was told to wait by this tall gentleman with Red tips in his hair. 12 minutes later I’m asking is the food ready yet for the customer and he said when it’s done cooking, it will be ready. I asked him why the food wasn’t ready. Why wasn’t I told so I can relay this to my customer and he said well. I’m just waiting for one more thing. I said to him you had to keep me apprised as to what’s going on, me being the customer on behalf of my customer , communication is needed and he just stood there with his hand on his hip, looking at me like he’s some kind of diva and what I’m saying, doesn’t even matter to him. His manager walked right past and ignored the entire conversation.

So happy to find another Chinese place with dining room open, room for a dozen plus hungry folks. Food is still take out containers, the waitress Angel brought to us. Lowest Prices anywhere, all lunch specials $7.95 . And most dinner's only $10.95 with mega portions. I was here once 6 years ago when first opened, the food is spot on wonderful 😊. I had a fantastic mixed Chicken n Veggie dish with Rice and Egg Roll. She had the dinner portion Chicken Egg Foo Young with Rice Egg Roll and Brown Gravy 😋. Add a quart of Wonton Soup only $5 for the win. Going back really soon, Thanks Angel does it all, Cooking and Waitress great 😃 job. #chinaluckystar @chineseluckystar #lowprices #chickeneggfooyoung #wontonsoup #eggrolls #shachachicken #diningroomopen #downriverfriendseat

Cute little restaurant. Seems to be mostly take out, I assume since Covid, there is some seating though. They are very fast with orders. It’s a bit pricey but I felt the portions were good. I wasn’t a fan of the crab ragoon, it just tasted like cream cheese and they are fairly small. They give big portions though for everything else! I loved the beef and broccoli. The rice was very bland and lacked any flavor. It was quite dry too. The veggie lo mein is delicious!! I also didn’t really like the egg drop soup, the green onions in it weren’t great either. Their dinner deals are really good though! Overall i definitely recommend them. :) I do want to add that while not everything is great; the negative reviews directed at the service are odd to me. The person behind the counter IS young; I presume it’s a relative as this is a small business. She was not rude. My experience felt no different than any other small family owned business I’ve been to. They got my order, gave me my receipt. I helped myself to chop sticks and I left after we each said to have a good night. :)
