I got 3 items that I've loved at every Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. I liked none of them. Egg rolls, for the first time in my life, were the size of spring rolls. Almost no vegetables but did have mushy pork. Crab Rangoon filling was so runny (not just when hot) it flowed out. General Tsao Chicken was over breaded, and the chicken was over done and chewy. Will never go back. Waitress never smiled. Odd.

Ordered veggie dumplings steamed( she gave us pork and shrimp) then we ordered leek and shrimp I believe dumplings steamed(came out veggie dumplings) My date had Gemini shrimp rolls, she liked it. I ordered a chicken eith chili pepper and white rice. Took about 25 minutes to come out and the place had 3 couples. As we were leaving they brought out my food... overall was disappointed in the service. Food quality was decent. The atmosphere was alright. Wouldn't go back a second time

Highly recommend the Biang Bang Noodles, or another dish with the handmade noodles. The noodles are made to order, and there is a good amount of meat on them. I had the Hot & Sour Vermicelli Soup, but it had minimal meat, was not sour and was not spicy (don't recommend). Small resturant with 8~ tables inside, but quick service and accepting of Allergies. All handmade noodles are NOT glutenfree, Vermicelli were made from potatoes.

Lili's is a smaller Chinese restaurant located in the heart of Amherst Center, serving a variety of Chinese dishes in store or as take out. The staff are very friendly, able to make the dishes quickly, and help cater to any needs or changes required. We tried the Biang Biang Noodles with pork, and it was a big portion for the price, and was very tasty. The spice wasn't too overwhelming, and the noodles were a good thickness that weren't too hard. The stewed pork went really well with it. Overall, a solid food choice while in the area.

This place is always amazing. I used to go here as a kid. And it’s still running smoothly, although it’s more geared towards delivery and pick up since Covid. The food is always so good! You can never miss! Please, if you want good Chinese cuisine, order from here!

NEVER come here for a formal event. My group put down a $300 deposit for a group of 25-30, and got stuck ordering $150 more than we wanted because there was an unclear $450 minimum for our group. Even if this was defined, this is still an unreasonable request, arguably demand. I repeat: absolutely do not come here. The drinks, the atmosphere, none of it is worth it as it was four years ago.

Oriental Flavor is a Chinese restaurant with roots in Southern Chinese cuisine, but also has dishes from all across China as well. The staff are quite friendly, restaurant is kept tidy and has decent table sizes for multiple parties. For dishes, I typically got the chow foon, which is pretty good. Kind of oily, but thats expected with how the dish is prepared. I also tried the fried squid, but it wasn't to my liking. They also have lunch combos, which comes with a soup and a smaller plate of a dish they offer on the menu. Taste is pretty similar to Chinese restaurants you'd find in Boston. Overall, a great place to visit if you are in the Amherst area.

The only thing that looked nice was mainly the menu. The red pork meat reminded me of the meat that goes on pork fried rice it was tasty for me. But everything else went downhill simply because it mostly tasted like chili flakes no other flavors. Also, the rice didn’t have salt at all it tasted like the cooked it in water and nothing else.

My family had an extremely disappointing and concerning experience at Formosa Chinese Restaurant in Amherst. Here is what they said to me- When we arrived, our table was messy, and the seats were dirty. The waitress got our order wrong multiple times, which already set a bad tone for the evening. We ordered Singapore noodles, two hot and sour soups, a plate of scallion pancakes, and dumplings. The soups were overwhelmingly peppery, lacking any depth or balance. The Singapore noodles and the scallion pancakes were the only decent part of the meal. But things took a disturbing turn when the dumplings arrived, with a staple embedded in one of them (photo attached). We informed the waitress immediately. Her reaction? A casual “Ok” and an offer to bring a new plate. We declined, clearly disturbed, and told her we didn’t want anything more to do with their dumplings and asked for that item to be removed from our bill. That response was shocking, considering how serious this could’ve been. A metal staple in food is a major health hazard—if swallowed, it could cause internal injuries, choking, or even puncture the digestive tract. It’s not a minor kitchen error. It’s dangerous, and it should have been treated as such. Shockingly, the bill came back at full price, including the dumplings. Even worse, a tip had been added without our permission and without any indication that it was automatic gratuity. We were a small party—nowhere near the size that usually triggers automatic gratuity—and there was no notice on the menu or the receipt. We questioned it, and the waitress brought a new receipt… still with a hidden tip added again. This wasn’t labeled as “gratuity” or “service charge”—just tacked onto the bill, hoping we wouldn’t notice. That’s not only dishonest, it may also be illegal under Massachusetts consumer protection laws. If they did this to us, there’s a good chance they’ve done it to others who didn’t catch it. Between the potential health hazard, poor service, and shady billing tactics (adding tips themselves) , this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I would not recommend Formosa to anyone—unless you're looking to overpay for unsafe food and be treated with disrespect.

Best chinese in Amherst, hands down. Recommended dishes: Chicken with cashews, Mung beans with beef or chicken, Vegetable Fried Rice, Vegetable Moo Shi, Formosa Rice Noodles, Fish Fillet with Fermented Soybeans, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, Egg drop soup.

Everything here was delicious! I got sesame noodles and the surf and turf dumplings. The sesame sauce was creamy, nutty, and complex. The dumplings had shrimp, pork, and chive and they were some of the best dumplings I’ve ever had! You could tell that they even made the dumpling wrappers from scratch. I liked the decorations and ambiance and the waitress was very nice.

Came here for the first time on a rainy Saturday and this hit the hot noodle soup craving! Get the Beef Brisket Noodle Soup Combo and I added some more spice to it. Very good and great quality. We got HuTong Soup Dumplings which were very tasty. They had directions to help show out to eat soup dumplings for those who don’t. I came back again the next day and ordered the Crab Meat Soup Dumplings which I loved and also my boyfriend who usually doesn’t like seafood enjoyed it. I highly recommend for authentic food :)

The food is always high quality. Not too greasy. The menu has unique dishes you can’t get anywhere else in the area and lots of vegetarian options. They estimate times well from my experience and pickup is smooth given the entire front of house is one person. Not much seating so plan to pick up. Support local and buy here.

I recently visited Little Wall, a small, family-run restaurant offering Chinese and Hong Kong-style cuisine, and I was absolutely charmed. The cozy and homely atmosphere made me feel like I was dining in someone’s welcoming kitchen rather than a restaurant. It’s clear that this is a labor of love for the owners, who not only manage the place but also serve the food. The service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and impressively fast. Each dish arrived piping hot, straight from the kitchen. Highlights of the meal included perfectly crisp scallion pancakes, flavorful egg rolls, and a comforting bowl of beef noodle soup, which was rich and satisfying. Little Wall is an ideal spot for an intimate date or a quick, casual lunch. While the seating is limited, which might be tricky for larger groups, their takeout option is a fantastic alternative. I would highly recommend Little Wall to anyone looking for delicious, authentic food and a warm dining experience. It’s truly a hidden gem worth discovering.

Just got the takeouts of Mala beef and Beef Chow Ho Fun, they're delicious! Especially the Ho Fun! They're so good, I totally forgot to take a picture. Would definitely go back again!

I recently had ordered takeout and they completely messed up my order. I ordered a chicken lo mein. Took it out of the bag, opened the container, and got a chicken chow mein instead. As for the taste, it was OK at best. I will say, however, the crab Rangoons were pretty good.

Very nice Chinese restaurant, friendly people and great menu selection. Small inside, only a couple of tables but lots for take out. I was really happy & impressed with such a nice family business in small town western Massachusetts. Thank you Min Fen Kitchen, I look forward to eating here again!

Overpriced for the mediocre food & surprisingly small portions. Have learned the tricks of these kinds of places - you order pad thai or fried rice and it’s all noodles or rice and sauce, nothing else except maybe a few flecks of vegetables - so I asked for extra vegetables. I don’t know if they charged me for extra vegetables since the prices weren’t as advertised. But they definitely didn’t give me anything I’d consider “extra” vegetables & the only veg was peas and carrots. It couldn’t have been made more cheaply, but they weren’t charging Top Ramen noodle pack prices - they were charging like you were in a proper restaurant. Little bit of a bummer & I regret going there at all.

Amy is very thoughtful, kind and always smiling!! The meals were delicious and Huge. I had enough for 2 meals. The chicken chow mein is sooo good! Lunch specials are unbelievable priced!! Under $10..

So literally just ordered lunch and it was horrible!! The rice is hard and tasted stale and old! I could literally squeeze out oil from the egg roll! The boneless spare ribs were burnt and hard, like the were old and stale as well. I see why the price point is as low as it is because the food is not good! Would absolutely NOT RECOMMEND! NOT EVEN TO MY ENEMY!!

I hadn't been here in probably 15 years or more, but we had some people in from out of town and were looking for a quick lunch stop that offered some healthy options and this seemed to fit the bill. I am so glad we gave it another try! The steamed veggies and meat option (choose your own veggies/meat/sauce combo) was a delightful deal, the sashimi is fresh and well-priced, lunch specials were a hit. The tea really hit the spot on a cold day, too! Five people ate plenty for $74, which was pretty great. The atmosphere was relaxing and the service pleasant.

Awesome sushi, at a great price. I got the avocado sushi, two days in a row, and it was the best veg sushi I’ve ever had. My friend got something that looked really good, though I didn’t try it. I sat outside on day 1. Cute little spot with a few small trees blocking us from the sidewalk so it felt nice and private. Day 2 I ate indoors next to a big fish tank. Highly recommend.
