We came here on a Friday night and was glad we found seats immediately. While it was busy, we were able to order online and our food came out quickly. The food was okay. The broth for the ramen tasted similar to the broth for the rice noodles. The meat in the ramen and ribs in the rice noodles were a bit tough, including the karaage chicken. Prices were average-you had an option to add extras for more. I liked how there was a combo option for the entree, appetizer, and a drink. The atmosphere was lively and catered towards the students in the area.

When you see a Chinese restaurant with an awkward mid 3 ratings on yelp with people yapping about the service and hygiene, you know it'll be pretty decent. The Chinese crepe ($10.95) is a must have. The chewy crepe with soft eggs and sausage, a crunchy chip-like thing, and perfectly umami sauce, what more could you possibly ask for? The gyoza ($7.95) is fully fried so super crispy outside and juicy inside —until it sits for a bit and gets kind of sad, so better eat fast. The spicy beef tripe ($13.95) is a cold dish, the well-seasoned chewy tripe coupled with crunchy peanuts is a perfect balance. As a lamb addict, I had to go for the spicy lamb soup ($15.95), and trust me, it hit. Cumin on top, extra chili from me, and those rice noodles soaked up every bit of flavor. The ramen ($14.95)? Eh, it’s there. It’s got all the ingredients, but like... was I supposed to feel something? Portions are decent, service (or lack thereof) is speedy, and the vibe is super laid back. I'd definitely be back for that crepe and those noodles.

Awesome place in Cambridge that offers authentic Chinese cuisine with a fast service for an unbeatable price! You should expect a line if you’re going during the weekend. The service is extremely fast, but the dishes are fresh. The soup steamed pork dumplings are a classic and taste so good. We also really like the Shandong dumplings. The beef with mixed veggies is full of flavor, and everything is cooked to a perfect texture. I also ordered the lamb vegetable clay pot, which comes in a huge pan and could easily satisfy 2-3 people. The steamed red bean dumplings are a great way to it all off.

Very loud Friday 7pm Pork soup dumpling - 5/5 good Pork crab soup dumpling - 4/5 Liang pi - 3/5 did not expect clear noodles Spicy cucumbers - 3/5 decent Chili wonton - 3/5 nothing special

I never had lunch here even though it is walking distance to where I work. Nice and clean space. I had ma po bean curd lunch special, which comes with 4 small side dishes -all delicious. The ma po bean curd actually contains a big portion of fish- pleasant surprise. Definitely will come again.

Probably some of the best noodles/crab wontons I have ever had! DELICIOUS! Must go here when in town!

Apr 2024: Family style dining with a nice open environment to enjoy a meal independently or with a big group. The spicy food feels good and not too overbearing but be prepared. Appetizers are quite delicious and had crispy crab rangoon with a yummy dipping sauce.

Food here is pretty amazing! The spicy pot was really good, we ordered a medium spicy and it was delicious. The things we think they need improvement are the service and cleanliness. Server was a bit rude and unfriendly. Having some kind of attitude to us. We also found that the glass of water has some unpleasant smell and not clean. The look from outside is reasonable clean but from what we see from the inside, plates and stains, I think they need to work on the cleanliness for the customer. It is a very tasty food, unfortunately the service and cleanliness are some things to work on. That’s the reason of my two stars.

This is the most underrated Chinese restaurant in Harvard Sq! It mostly does takeout but they have plenty of open tables, not too much ambience but the food is always top notch, service is very fast, friendly, and good portions. Great choice to take your vegetarian and vegan friends, as they don't make most of the vegetable dishes with ground meat. They do have American-Chinese food on their menu but I usually get the traditional Chinese stirfry dishes. Their salt & pepper tofu (pictured) is hands down the best in the city, not greasy, just the right amount of salt, always perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Last time I went I got their Three Treasures for the first time, and it wasn't greasy like at many other places. Great wok char. This place has been open for more than a decade and the sad thing is, they've not been as busy lately. I really hope it does enough business, I'd be so sad if it disappeared along with so many other restaurant staples in the area.

Went in for late lunch to Cilantro on a Sunday. The place wasn't too busy. Our servers were kind, attentive and prompt. The food was amazing and the portions were great. Everyone enjoyed the food including the kids. Thanks for the great service, Stella and team.

The restaurant's decor is clearly well-thought-out, and the overall design is quite tasteful. However, upon entering, I found the lighting to be a bit dim, which created a somewhat gloomy atmosphere that I didn't particularly enjoy. The dishes were rather average, without much to stand out. On the bright side, the service was decent, and the staff were friendly. Overall, the experience was just okay.

Old school Chinese restaurant that serves one of the best American Chinese food in the city. Swung by this spot a few times whenever I’m craving classic American Chinese comfort food. While it’s not the trendiest or most authentic Chinese restaurant in the area, it’s got a charm all its own. Having served the neighborhood for over three decades, it’s more of a local favorite than a student hotspot. The food isn’t upscale or fancy, but what sets it apart are the little details—everything is fresh, extra crispy, and perfectly balanced in flavor. Take the Wonton Soup and Soup Dumplings, for example. The Wonton Soup here isn’t your standard “free with entrée” stuff. The pickled veggies inside add a tangy kick that beautifully complements the umami of the wontons, while the seaweed and a drizzle of sesame oil give it an extra layer of flavor. They even time it right, adding the wontons just before serving so they’re not soggy—just give them a minute to soak up the soup. As for the Soup Dumplings, they’re some of the best I’ve had in recent memory. Served the classic way with a vinegar-and-ginger dipping sauce, they’re perfectly crafted, with pork fat melting into a rich, savory broth at the bottom. Shaomai had an interesting twist - fish roe on top added a pop of playful texture. The entrées I’ve tried so far have been great as well. The Tian Shan Spareribs and the Crispy Beef with Sesame were perfectly crispy despite being coated in a thick sweet and sour sauce. It’s rare for dishes like these to hold onto their texture, but these nailed it. Portions lean on the smaller side, so if you’re feeling ravenous, I’d suggest kicking things off with an appetizer. Changsho might not be one of the must-try Chinese spots in the area, but if you’re craving good-quality comfort food that hits the spot, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Stopped in after a rough day and some excellent Chinese comfort food paired with friendly service really hit the spot. Dumplings were particularly good (some of the best northern style I’ve found in greater Boston), red braised pork was rich and flavorful, and the house-made cured pork belly (la rou) stir fried with fresh vegetables was cooked to perfection. I’d recommend asking if they have any specials/ off-menu items, as the la rou wasn’t on the menu but proved to be a particular highlight.

Horrible I am a pregnant woman who was craving Chinese wings and crabragoons with some pork fried rice and this is what I got. If they didn’t have wings the should of just said no wings period I am so upset and it’s the second time this happens never going back there

Omg!!! This place is amazing. My wife and I stopped here on a whim after picking up her car from getting some work done and saw the reviews say how amazing the hand pulled noodles are. She got the cumin lamb ones and I got the braised beef with bean sprouts and both are phenomenal!! Hers came with free popcorn chicken from an Uber deal and I bought us a side order of scallion pancake. Everything is extremely reasonably priced and homemade and delicious!!! No wonder it gets such good reviews. The staff were so friendly and food came out very quickly. I cannot state just how amazing this place is and have absolutely zero complaints. I will definitely be checking out the Watertown location now as it's much closer to home for us. Thank you!!!♡♡

I found chunks of sauce in the 螺蛳粉, which makes me think it wasn’t fully cooked. The vegetables were fresh, but the peanuts weren’t properly roasted—they should really use deep-fried soybeans instead. The meat was great, but the rice noodles tasted like they came from an instant noodle pack. Overall, it was somewhat enjoyable. As for the other dishes, the flavors were just okay. Some parts tasted like leftovers, which didn’t leave a good impression. I wasn’t impressed.

The most authentic Hangzhou food in MA, The star of the show is the [Dried Bamboo and Duck Soup]—make sure to reserve it a day in advance because they use the freshest duck. The Chestnut Chicken has a deliciously sweet flavor, and the best dessert is definitely the Rice Ball Soup. You have to try them!!! Don’t miss out on the handmade pork Baozi either. The service is excellent, and the dishes are full of flavor. The only downside is that it's a bit far from downtown Boston, so I always need to catch a ride with a friend to get here.

This time, I had the Stir-Fried Rice Cakes, Sweet Rice Balls, and Duck Stew with Dried Bamboo Shoots. The Stir-Fried Rice Cakes were perfectly chewy, with a deliciously savory sauce that kept me coming back for more. The Sweet Rice Balls were sweet and comforting, with a rich, aromatic flavor that made them a perfect dessert. But the star of the meal was definitely the Duck Stew with Dried Bamboo Shoots—tender, flavorful, and the bamboo shoots added a delightful crunch. If you're looking for authentic Hangzhou cuisine, this place is a must-try!

I’m not from Taiwan or the region, so I’ll leave the remarks about authenticity to others. I did stumble on a Taiwanese restaurant during a trip to China, and had an eggplant dish that I’m still thinking about five years later. So I thought I’d give this place a try. I was just about the only non-Asian diner—on a Saturday, the place was full of families. They were kind to find a spot for a solo diner.I ordered the Taipei beef noodle soup, which is spicy but not in a sharp jalapeño way, more of a dark warm heat. I also had the eggplant in garlic sauce, which resembled that dish I had years ago, though it was sweet (actually as if sugar was added) and what I had before was a bit dryer, and had just a bit more of a roasted flavor. This was a lot of food, but it all was so good that I almost didn’t have any leftovers. I’ll definitely be back.

It is very Authentic Chinese food , is tasty so yummy and beautiful,I will coming back next time , thank you so much!

A really lovely place with decently affordable lunch specials. Fast and excellent service. Lunch special came with choice of crab rangoons or spring rolls as well as fried or steamed rice and hot and sour soup.

If there were half stars, I’d probably give a 3.5, but I’m rounding up to 4 because I would go back for sure. I started with a mai tai which was just ok. They don’t have a lot of tiki cocktails on the menu but maybe they can make the basics. I’ll try something else next time. For an appetizer we got crab Rangoon. It was minimally stuffed and not very good. It should be avoided. Dinner was much better. The half peking duck was good. The meat was excellent and the veggies were fresh, though the pancakes were more like a tortilla than a traditional peking pancake. The spicy sautéed cabbage was amazing. I highly recommend the cabbage, particularly with the duck. The service was efficient even though the dining room was pretty crowded. The atmosphere is nice, above average for a traditional Chinese restaurant. Bottom line: I’m looking for a Chinese restaurant near by to be my go to. I’m not sure this is it, but I would go back again.

Just ordered from here for the first time and I am very satisfied. We got 2 dinner combination platters and they were great. I got general tso's and my brother got sesame chicken. It was hot, fresh and delicious. The portion sizes were great, half or more chicken to rice on both dinners. Price was great. I look forward to ordering again.

Ordered New China 2 for delivery. Taste, not terrible but this is the driest honey chicken (or any Chinese dish) I’ve ever had. Literally, no sauce on this chicken. After waiting 65 minutes for delivery, from a place that’s 1 mile from my house, I wanted better quality.
