Eastern 89
I’ve been ordering here for about a year or so now. To help understand my rating, if you’re familiar with Peking Gourmet from 2015-2019 this would rank below it for me personally (they switched ownership this year/last). But overall it’s a solid option in Frederick. After ordering a few times as well as sitting inside the restaurant as most hole in the walls are. It’s your typical Chinese American restaurant, but with very pleasant and kind staff. They have steak and cheese egg rolls on a board written in store, I highly recommend if you’re into south western egg rolls, bulgogi egg rolls, just different types. Their website needs some work, so I grabbed a menu and told the owners that I would be posting it to possibly help them as you can’t find one online. They have a solid menu selection. Personally this isn’t my favorite variation of kung pao chicken, but it definitely translates as a healthier version common from many other Chinese restaurants. I normally get steamed dumplings. Orange beef is good. It’s still made with flank steak, not small chunks like some of the other restaurants have switched too. Below in photos though are kung pao, orange chicken, fried dumplings.
I've had multiple dishes from this restaurant and not a single one has been a disappointment. The owners are very sweet and are wonderful with recommendations. This has become my favorite chinese restaurant in Frederick and the surrounding area. Give them a try, my favorite dish- Sweet and sour chicken, and an order of veggie spring rolls.
