Ever Spring
I ordered shrimp egg foo yung and was not pleased by the taste. It tasted like black licorice. I was also very disappointed in the pork fried rice. The pieces of pork were so small I barely even notice that I had pork in the fried rice. It's almost like they took the whole traditional cubes of pork and cut them in thirds and distributed amongst the rice. You can't cut back on your portion and raise your prices. That's insane. It's not even a normal order of pork fried rice.
I was excited to try this spot, but I was really disappointed to see that staff didn’t use gloves. Or just washing there hands in between would have made a big difference. The same person handling money also went into the freezer and handled food with bare hands before frying. I understand heat kills germs, but it’s still a major health risk and made me lose my appetite. Just want others to be aware. This is the only reason why I won’t be returning here. I tried the crab wontons and was really impressed with the presentation! They’re shaped like little flowers instead of the usual triangles, which makes them super cute and visually appealing. Because of the shape, there’s a bit less filling than I’m used to (especially compared to places like House of China), but they still had really great flavor—just slightly on the sweeter side. I ordered the chicken egg foo young as well. The gravy had a bit of an odd taste at first, but adding a little soy sauce, granulated garlic, and granulated onion brought it together nicely.
