Great Wall Chinese Restaurant
Fast hot food, pretty good value. The sesame chicken was very tasty, as was the egg roll that accompanied the combo meals. Chicken and broccoli had a good brown sauce but broccoli was a bit soggy. I think at other places the broccoli is first flash fried to retain its crunch. I ordered chicken fried rice and white rice also came with one of the entrees - and the rice in both was underdone so a little bit hard. The Lo mein had a bit of a ginger-y taste to it that I found unusual almost like they tossed in the dumpling dipping sauce and I was not a fan. The hot and sour soup was very fresh and full of tofu and fresh mushroom but it was on the lighter side which is preferred vs other places where it might be too dark from soy sauce, or too viscous from too much corn starch or too many chili seeds. Their hot and sour soup was good and did not have these issues. Overall, a good spot to get your Chinese food fix here. Be careful that you don’t accidentally go to Great Wall 2 which is down the street when you order ahead.
I had the H2 with an egg roll and was pretty good. There wasn’t sauce on the beef or noodles but came with a dressing like sauce. Maybe I will get the teriyaki beef under the hibachi menu next time. It came with some dressing but didn’t know if it was for the noodles or veggies🥦 I tried it on the beef and was ok. To sum up it was all around good and deserves a return trip in the future.
Ocean City Restaurant
Food is always very good here. I’ve never had an issue with my order. I’ve been coming here for over 5 years now and the quality of the food is always spot on. Best Chinese food in Charleston in my opinion
I gave it a three star because the General tso’s chicken didn’t taste like the typical general tso chicken I’ve had in the past. The chicken has this weird taste to it and it wasn’t quite good; not only that, some pieces are hot and some were cold. The egg drop soup was good and the sugar donuts were also super delicious!
Great Wall
Food did not look appetizing. Lady kept telling me these wings were cooked well done and saidshe thought was cooked. But the inside of the chicken looked disgusting. I told her I could not eat. She want to cook them done more I told her I was not going to eat No apology just nasty attitude. Will not eat here agsin and her kids was all over the place.
I wanted something quick and filling and tried this restaurant because it was nearby. I was fairly pleased. I ordered the 4 whole chicken wings with shrimp fried rice. The wings were good, and the rice was pretty decent. Their service was pretty decent as well, and they were quick. I would eat here again.
Chinese Express
I have visited this Chinese buffet restaurant for many years with my family. The staff is always pleasant always polite kudo's to the team especially Alisa and Caroline Never short of attention, the food is delicious. They have the BEST steamed dumplings.
Everything was excellent. I always enjoyed the vegetables and shrimp 🍤 😋. Only in white sauce 😋 staff nice happy place.
China City
Typically my reviews are high-ratings and majority of the points is centered around the food. First the good points: This is a great location in Summerville and close to the Stars & Stripes Bowling Alley inclusive to the Movies 8(Cinemark). The customer service is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable as a customer. It’s very clean and organized. It’s plenty of space to sit down and eat or you can simply take out. This is also the 1st time I’ve seen delivery services offered but be aware it’s a $20.00 minimum or $30 pre-tax. I ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young with Pork Fried Rice. Unfortunately the rice looked and tasted mushy as if it was old, not freshly cooked at all. The brown gravy was below average in-taste and the egg patties wasn’t that seasoned. Maybe one day if I come back, the quality improves.
You guys are fantastic, and I will continue ordering from here for as long as I’m here in Summerville. Hands down the best Chinese food around these parts. Generous portions, absolute quality food, and prices that beat all others around here. I live 24 minutes from China City, and I’ll give make this drive for their food. Keep up the awesome work y’all!
PAGODA
Our family normally eats here once in a while. When we do it normally is always good but the last two recent times our wings were red in the middle. We called and asked why and was told it’s the seasoning in the inside of the chicken. (Like huh) 🤔 We opened all wings to show all were like this in the videos and pic attached to this review.
TERRIBLE!!! DO NOT ORDER HERE!!! These people are crooks. We ordered a big dinner, and I pulled up their website to look at the menu, and get the pricing. It came to $61, and we called and placed the order. When we went to pick it up, it was $85!!! We said, no, online your pricing is different, and showed them the prices on the website. They said the website was old, and they wouldn't honor the prices. Now I'm stuck with $85 worth of Chinese food! This place is shady, with crappy business ethics. I will never, ever order food here again, and tell as many people as I can that they're crooks. Absolutely unacceptable.
Dragon House Chinese Restaurant
This is my first time trying this restaurant. Ordered the shrimp with garlic sauce (combination plate comes with rice and egg roll) thru Uber Eats and it’s pretty delicious. I definitely will be ordering from here again and again
I recently placed a pickup order for honey chicken and pancit, and my experience was outstanding. The food was served hot and fresh, and the restaurant maintained exceptional cleanliness. The staff were welcoming and courteous, greeting me with warm smiles. Overall, I was impressed by the excellent service and cuisine.
Keko‘s Asian Fusion
sometimes the food is good and sometimes it not. Everything always seem to have to much of a garlic flavor. I got the hibachi steak with veggies. It just taste rushed with no effort put in to it. It didn't have a tasty flavor the steak was cut in to big uneven chunks. veggies didn't have a crisp to them they were just soggy. a week ago I order the same thing and it was $13 today I ordered the same thing and it was $20
We went for the first time today and ordered boneless ribs with shrimp fried rice and orange chicken with some crab rangoons. All of it was great and the crab rangoons were the best I’ve ever had, ended up getting another order to go. The staff was also very friendly and service was fast. Definitely the best Asian restaurant in the area and worth checking out.
China Kitchen
So I ordered lunch from this place earlier in which I was pretty busy at work today & didn’t get the opportunity right away to eat. Once I got the chance I’m sitting down eating & pretty much Chopped down into the rice & Lo Mein and got a bit more than I expected. I thought I was exaggerating at first but I wasn’t. I bit into a SCREW! I also chipped a tooth in which I won’t post but the screw is enough. I called the place VERY polite I might add to get cussed out & called a liar at the most instead of anything of apologetic. This has to be the WORST experience of Customer Service!!!
Update to my previous review. We decided to give China Kitchen another try and we were impressed with our dinner. The General Tso chicken was hot and fresh, the chicken was flavorful and not full of filler. The chicken teriyaki and honey wings were also hot, fresh and flavorful.
Golden Dragon
Boneless spare ribs are 100% the best I've ever had. Most placed and probably pan fried and tossed on sauce, these are grilled or broiled. They have a char and smoke flavor that is phenomenal. The veggie lo main had zucchini and mushrooms and broccoli that you don't normally get from Chinese places. I will not go anywhere else. 100/100
I ordered the chick chow mien and got chicken with veggies but no noodles Chow mien is the noodle
China Town
Great service even better food and it was very fresh even after 12 min. car ride home. My wife and I are going to be repeat customers for sure. Frfr.
My husband picks up food from there maybe twice a month, if I had it my way it would be weekly!!!! Their food is FANTASTIC!! We just got it tonight, and as usual it’s perfect!!! Best sweet and sour chicken and egg rolls I’ve ever had!!!! Thank you for the great food every time!! Angie and Kevin
Empire Restaurant
I really hate to say this since there other dirtbag truck drivers here. But i rest assure Im nothing like them. This has to be one of the cleanest well prepared great tasting chinese food restaurants I have been to and I have been to alot. The only beef i have 9.00 for ribs and giving me whats seemed to be the smallest possible.... The egg rolls were great and the beef and brocoli a nice amount of dumplings.. Ill be back...
Unfortunately, the service at this establishment was far from pleasant. The owner lacked the basic social skills necessary where clear communication and customer interaction are essential. One glaring issue was the shrimp toast. It was undercooked and cold in the middle. I informed the owner, who went to the kitchen but never returned to address the issue or offer a solution. A simple acknowledgment or effort to remake the dish would have been appreciated, but none was provided. While some meals did have decent flavor, the overall experience was overshadowed by the unwelcoming atmosphere and lack of customer care. For a budget friendly option, I didn’t find it worth my time to press further, but the lack of attention to basic service standards makes this place hard to recommend.
