Little Phoenix
11 brave seniors from Brightview Rolling Hills in Catonsville boarded the bus and enjoyed lunch at Little Phoenix. As a first time customer here in Maryland, I only had time to read the reviews before getting on the road. I read that portions were very abundant and I have to agree wholeheartedly! Also the flavors are amazing and you can adjust the spices to your own individual taste. Service was flawless, soups were hot as well as sides and entrees. There is a 20% tip included but I gave a bit more because the hostess was so efficient in getting the food out so smoothly and rang us up after insuring that we all had takeaway boxes with bags to carry them home.
Let me start off by saying I usually really enjoy the food here but yesterday was horrible. I placed an order online for Shrimp and broccoli, seasame chicken (white meat) and chicken fried rice and 4 spring rolls, all for $54 ($1 up charge for white meat). When I arrived the food was ready but the lady at the front stated that when I chose “white meat” I apparently selected it under my shrimp and broccoli entree and not the sesame chicken one, so she said they didn’t make it white meat. I thought to myself “common sense would know that was for the chicken since you can’t choose white or dark for shrimp) but I said okay because I didn’t feel like arguing about it (also forgot I paid the extra money for the white meat option). My boyfriend doesn’t eat dark meat so he went back in with the food and had them remake it, he said they did try to make him just take the food and said they would give the $1 back but he wanted them to remake it and so they did. So I find it ironic that the entree we had them remake was the one with the worm in it. This is disgusting! I almost feel like it was done on purpose . And we ate all of the fried rice and spring rolls just to find a worm or maggot in the food 🤮 I will not be eating here again.
Hunan Joy
By far the best , especially the shrimp toast .. off the bat my impression was this is good clean food. Cooked by someone that cares. The house fried rice , egg rolls, wontons! Easily the best spot
Sushi was good, I didn't care much for the crab roll with obay seasoning. The salmon topped with eel was good. Overall, I would give them a 7 out of 10.
China Chef
Just ordered a regular sized Mongolian beef in theypiled onions and green peppers at the top of the dish and left me with a little bit of beef at the bottom I just paid $24.75 for this meal and two egg rolls that weren't even fresh I will not order here again very unhappy customer
How in the world does this place have so many good reviews ????? The food is mediocre for the location it's in with so much foot traffic. I bought the beef and broccoli with white rice the sauce was way to thick and lacked good quality, the beef was that chewy beef and the white rice was WAAY UNDER COOKED or they added way too much water it was mushy and soggy and so bland that i couldn't even eat it. Rice should be tender not sticky. On a good note the lady working there was accommodating and nice and she replaced the rice. I gotta give this place one star based on the quality and pricing it's way overpriced for such poor quality food.

I’m not really into food safety laws but I know damn sure you not suppose to handle fresh eggrolls or non fresh eggs rolls like this, are these egg rolls to be consumed or stored for consumption. I’m just confused. This is what was happening soon as I came into the spot. But I proceed to pay for my food. Hoping for the best, and honestly .. I should have just walked out. Got home and my lady started to eat and immediately yelled out in disgust. Not over the food (yet) but how it was packaged stating that it wasn’t a good sign for what was to come. We ordered G Tso Chicken, bland, basically unseasoned… Shrimp Yak me, tasted like cleaning product. The fried rice was mush.
Food is not bad but the shrimp were not deveined. I had to clean the shrimp before eating the food. Not sure of other food but if you don't want to eat dirty shrimp don't buy shrimp dishes.
