Jack's Fortune
Went here on a Saturday night and was pleased to see that it was busy! The decor is fairly cliche for a Chinese restaurant but they have a very active dining room. We had about a 10 minute wait with is reasonable. The waiting area got very crowded which was uncomfortable. When we were seated we waited about 10 minutes for someone to take our order. They do give you tea at the table which is really nice. I was surprised they don’t have soda water so I had regular water which was fine. Despite the slow start, once we put our orders in the food came out very quickly! I saw many tables still working on their apps when the main came out. We did the fried dumplings and they were perfect! Plump and the dumpling dough was the right thickness! The filling was great. I ordered the honey chicken and my wife ordered the crispy lemon chicken. In hindsight I would have ordered something with more veggies but that’s a preference. The execution of both dishes was pretty flawless. My dish came with a sauce that was a little sweet but didn’t overwhelm the chicken. My wife’s dish was fried really nicely. Where my dish had the sauce on it her dish came with a bowl of lemon sauce. Historically I have found this sauce to be very thick and artificially lemony. This sauce had a great lemon flavor and was not syrupy. We both took half of our food home. We were in and out of the restaurant in 45 minutes! Give this place a try!
Soup. Thick, earthy, nice size of meat and vegetables. The flavor was balanced and the heat was mild as a finish. The Sao's chicken. The sauce is sweet and flavorful, it has a deep rich stickiness with a fabulous heat. The vegetables have a nice crunch the chicken was a little dry but there was plenty of sauce to offset that. The service is very quick and attentive. The atmosphere is very alive and inviting. It is clean and brightly colored but still dimly lit so as to feel you have some privacy with your group. I would return and I believe it will be another great experience.
Joy Luck I
This is the worst $60.00 ever spent! If I could give a 0 I would. I have never had Grey chicken on a stick, the generals was horrible and no sauce, fried rice was bland, the wings were awful way to much tempora breading. We will never recommend this place.
I was seeking comfort foods and ordered Chicken & Broccoli and Crab Ragoon x2. The crab ragoon had no filling (sad face) the chicken and broccoli was shredded. It was a lot of "not yummy" for $33+
