Happy Dragon
I've never left a review before but this food was so egregiously bad that I would feel wrong not contesting this restaurant's four (???) stars. I ordered sweet and sour chicken - was given bizarre smooth blobs of batter with awful gooey chicken inside. The "sweet and sour" sauce was just sweet and had maraschino cherries and pineapple floating in it. The rest of our meal was edible, if not good. The scallion pancakes were tough and seemed either stale or fried too long, dumplings tasted like they came out of a supermarket freezer. Mongolian beef was adequate, as was fried rice, so I can't quite give Happy Dragon the one star I want to. I'm really disappointed because the service was great and the restaurant was delightful inside. I was hoping this would be a local favorite, but I don't think you could pay me to get food here again. By far the worst Chinese takeout I have ever had - if you're trying to decide on a dinner spot, please go literally anywhere else.
I stopped at Happy Dragon on 7/2/2023 for lunch on my way to Portland, ME. This restaurant is located downtown. We entered the restaurant and were quickly greeted by a friendly host who sat us in the dining room. I prefer the lounge but it seemed to be closed. The server gave us their menu and took our drinks orders. As is my custom I ordered the Mai Tai. It was in a 8oz glass, a bit small to what I am used to, however, it was as strong and tasty. We ordered from the lunch menu special plates. Very affordable, plenty to eat and satisfying. I give them Kudos for their golden chicken fingers. If you’re in town stop in and try them out.
Yummy House
I ordered Yummy House last night and it was the worst service, worst food ever. The only person that was even sorry was the driver! And none of this was even his fault. He was very nice though. I ordered a large boneless pork spare ribs and 2 egg rolls. First, they sent me a SMALL and the meat was so dry, flavorless, no sauce, hard and chewy all the way through. It looked and felt like it had been under a heat lamp all day. The egg rolls were also dry and old. They brought only 1 very small container of duck sauce when I asked for 4. (I offered to pay more if necessary.) The spring rolls were also dry and old AND the chicken fried rice wasn't even moist. I didn't eat the container of pork, instead I called and told them that I wanted it corrected. So, they sent me a large that was from the same batch of nastiness. I ate two small bites of the small and threw it all away. It was $36 and some change. The worst food I've ever gotten, and I have been ordering food there for years. It's been getting bad for a long time now. DO NOT EVER ORDER FROM THEM. GROSS! YOU WILL END UP THROWING IT OUT TOO! BIG WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME! Wish I could attach pictures, but I can't figure it out.
Have never eaten at the restaurant just always get delivery. Been ordering from them for years and the food is very consistent and very good, best Hot and Sour soup ever. Wonderful assortment of vegetables. Chinese food can be healthy, you just need to order the right things!
Wok N Roll
Very very good!! reminds me of the old Wok-In. Got a poo poo platter and two lunch specials they were amazing. The shrimp lo mein was delicious with plenty of veg and shrimp. The green beans and beef also delicious, the fried rice was moist and with lots of pork and vegetable pieces SO good. The poo poo platter had a variety of options, but my favorite were the beef and chicken teriyaki sticks, as well as the sweet and sour chicken. Everything was loaded full into their boxes, some were overfilled but we don't mind, there were plenty of leftovers! Definitely worth a trip. Also their prices are like they're from the early 2000s. Lunch specials $7! Poo poo platter for two was $24. Check it out!!
This is the best Chinese restaurant in York County, hands-down. You wouldn’t know it because it’s low frills inside, but the food is outstanding and the portions are Unbelievable. In particular, the fried foods are not greasy, they have a perfect crunch, and the fillings are delicious.
