Taste of China
May 24, 2024 Absolutely HORRIBLE! No idea how they have managed to get 4,4 stars rating. I ordered the General Tao’s chicken, it tasted terrible. First of all even though I did order it for dine in, I got a plastic container. The food was extremely hot, it may be achieved only if you microwave the container. Second, really small portion, the amount of chicken was insultingly skimpy. The 2/3 of those dough nut have no chicken at all, the rest had small bits smaller than a chick pea. I think there was less than 2 oz. of chicken. And the third, everything tasted awful. Even though I was super hungry (came at lunch, did not have breakfast and skipped the dinner the day before), I could not finish it. What a waste of time and money !
Okay, here's an improved review based on your feedback: Taste of China: A Takeout Transformation! I had a less-than-stellar experience at Taste of China in Slidell a while back, but with my usual spot now closed, I decided to give them another try. I'm incredibly glad I did! It's clear they've made some significant improvements, and the food is now absolutely wonderful. From the perfectly cooked fried rice to the exceptionally fresh boneless spare ribs, everything I ordered was delicious. I've often found that the way they smoke their ribs can lead to dryness, but they've clearly mastered the technique. The ribs were juicy and flavorful. It's exciting to have Taste of China as a reliable option for both lunch and dinner. If you're looking for fantastic takeout in Slidell, I highly recommend giving them a try. They've definitely won me over!
Lucky Panda
I ordered steamed dumplings, Mongolian beef, and Kung pao chicken. Steamed dumplings were delicious! Mongolian beef had too much onion and not enough beef, but tasted very good. Kung pao chicken was delicious with a good amount of meat. The best I have had in Slidell.
It was pretty decent. Got the orange chicken combo
Bruce's Chinese Kitchen
Service was great! However I was very disappointed with my food. I’ve never seen yaka mein this way. The broth had absolutely no flavor. The meat was barely done and idk what kind of meat it was . Typically yaka mein is beef stew meat or chicken even shrimp. I’ve had other dishes from this restaurant and was very pleased. This for me was a huge no! I even tried to doctor it up adding seasoning and drowning it in soy sauce and it still was a no. I did not eat the mystery meat . I did leave a type bc of the service for my to go order. I posted what yaka mein is supposed to look like
My family and I have been eating at this restaurant for many years. I have zero complaints. The food is good. The service is even better. The ladies that run the place or the nicest people.. Excellent takeout food
Golden Dragon Buffet II
If a quick meal with various options is the goal, this place will get it done. Simple, typical Asian buffet with fresh, clean buffet. The price is decent for $15 for lunch. There are decent crawfish and many chicken dishes. There were no shrimp on the lunch buffet, which must be the difference in menu and price for dinner.
Really good for a buffet. We stopped in on a very busy Sunday for a late lunch. All the food on the buffet was fresh and hot. The staff keeps the buffet well stocked the entire time we were there. The wait staff is quick with drinks and clearing dirty plates off the table. The food selection was above average for a Chinese buffet and my wife was surprised that they even had fried frog legs (this is a local Louisiana delicacy). We will definitely be back to try again.
Chinese House
Loved this little place. Ordered here for the first time and this will be my forever favorite place for Chinese food. The lady in the front was so nice and friendly. The food tasted amazing and was ready within 10 minutes. Definitely recommend and will be returning!
I do not understand how this place is one of the top rated chinese restaurants in Slidell. I got crab rangoons, beef with vegetables, pork egg rolls, and Kung Pao chicken. All the food I got lacked flavor and seasoning. Crab rangoons: lack of flavor and filling, but honestly I didn't miss the filling because there was no flavor. I have been to 100 buffets that do them better. Beef with vegetables: lack of flavor/seasoning. Very bland, and for the price should have twice the meat. Pork egg rolls: lack of seasoning. Very bland. Kung Pao chicken: not even a hint of spicy. Again bland. And again, I'm paying 15 dollars for a family sized, where is the meat?!?!? Staff member was super nice. I should have gone to lucky panda or panda express.
Yee Chinese Restaurant
I have a lot of opinions about this place after my one dining experience, but I will start with the good! The service was excellent, the servers were kind, and the restaurant itself has a nice feel. Unfortunately, those were the only good things about our experience… We ordered 2 combo meals with a drink which came to $40 which we found to be a bit steep for lunchtime takeout. I can’t really say that what we ordered was Chinese food even in the slightest. Our meal tasted like something we would have ordered at a Southern cooking restaurant. The fried rice had 0 flavor and I didn’t want to finish eating it. We paid extra for white meat chicken which was fatty and soggy. I was truly disappointed with my meal. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant but the workers were very kind.
I PROMISE DONT ORDER!!!!! this is the worst chinese food (if that’s what u wanna call it it ) i’ve seriously had !!! the GRAVY (or whatever to call it ) is so cold it’s like jelly !!! the egg roll is so greasy and i can tell how old it is ! THIS PLACE GETS NOOOO STARS !!! the chicken LITERALLY HAS NO TASTE AT ALL !!!
China King
Nice and clean on the inside. Fast service. Hot and fresh food. Sesame chicken was really good. Pork rice was sorta bland but ok with soy sauce and hot chilli oil. I would try food from here again. First time trying.
I ordered large combination fried rice, 6 piece hot wings, and 2oieces of shrimp and 2 pieces chicken egg rolls. The food was nasty. No flavor and no seasoning. We wasted 31.00.The fried rice was also wet and soggy. The hot wings came as fried chicken. I complained and they offered to put the hot wing sauce over the fried chicken. The sauce was not hot. This was a waste of money. We did not eat this mess and would not patronize again if this was the only place to go. Thanks but no thanks.
Panda Express
Order the pick 2 sides and 3 entrees. My 3 entrees was beef and broccoli and all I got was broccoli. Very little beef. Literally all I was gonna eat was white rice and broccoli. Extremely disappointed for $35 dollars I paid for. The other meal was fine in aspects of food portion but was cold.
The service was bad. I waited 15 minutes for greens mix and was told I was lying. I have a time stamped receipt. Then I was met with attitude about changing to white rice. The main reason for the change was partially because of the “4to5” over 15 minute wait but was primarily because she used her bare hands to place the greens in the basket. Disgusting practice. The whole experience was bad. I will not be going back.
