Golden Wok
The food here is different compared to other Chinese resturants. There is a sign right when you come in making claims on freshness, and quality and I have to agree. Solid portions and the food is always yummy and quite frankly the best fried rice I have had in a long time!
I decided to try out this Chinese restaurant after seeing some positive reviews, but my experience was far from what I expected. My order was for takeout, and the interaction over the phone should have been my first red flag. The woman taking my order was rude, rushed me through the call, and didn’t even tell me the total—just said it would be ready in 10 minutes. When I arrived to pick up the food, I was shocked to find that the total was $50 for just two meals, which included egg rolls and crab rangoons. That price felt way too high for what we got, but at that point, I was already there and just hoped the food would be worth it. Unfortunately, it wasn’t. Lo Mein: Extremely disappointing. The noodles were way overcooked, making them mushy, and the dish itself was completely bland—no seasoning, no flavor, just a pile of tasteless noodles. Fried Rice: One of the few redeeming parts of the meal. It had good flavor and was cooked well. Bourbon Chicken: Actually really good. It was flavorful, well-cooked, and had a nice balance of sweetness and smokiness. If anything, this was the highlight of the meal. Crab Rangoons: Just okay. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t great either—about a 6/10. They lacked the rich, creamy filling that makes a great crab rangoon. Egg Rolls: Nothing special. Definitely not worth the inflated price.
